We specialize in Japanese vehicles (i.e. Honda/​Acura), Domestic vehicles (i.e. Ford, Chevy) and even European vehicles (i.e. Mercedes, BMW). We perform maintenance, vehicle repairs and diagnosis. As well as, brake system, cooling system, engine (top and bottom) repairs and rebuilds, suspension repairs (shocks, struts, ball joints, wheel bearings, etc.), Air Conditioning system repairs and any sort of repair or maintenance to a vehicle.

History

Established in 1979.

J&A Automotive was founded by ‘Honda’ John in Norco, not to far from our current location. Gabe came to work for the shop and after a few years he was offered half ownership of the shop and he took the plunge. Shortly after Jacob (Gabes brother) followed as an employee at J&A Automotive. In 2000, they bought full ownership of J&A Automotive and have not looked back since. Their plan was simple, helping people out and being honest.

Gabe is a Corona native, graduating Corona High in 1990. A little over 20 years ago he started work at J&A Automotive under the instruction of ‘Honda’ John. At first, the shop had only specialized in Honda and Acura vehicles, but about 12 years ago Gabe had transformed the shop and expanded work to all foreign and domestic vehicles. He is a very determined individual, spending most of the days and weekends at J&A Automotive. He never leaves customers without and explanation and strives to provide not only excellent customer service but car care.

There are a couple things in life you need to have. A good doctor and a good mechanic. I’m still searching for the doctor. I’ve been taking my vehicles to Gabe, Frank and the others for several years. Honest, fair and professional. They are the best kept secret in auto repair.

I brought my vehicle here many years ago and recently had to service my car so I decided to go back. They took me on short notice and like usual they did a great job with my vehicle. They’re not expensive and they don’t jack up the prices with needless repairs.

AMAZING!!! Is all I can say. I get taken advantage of at so many car places I go and I knew the very first moment I called them I wanted to bring my car here. They were suggested by a fellow teacher of mine and am so happy with the service. They were so informational and not to mention affordable. They didn’t nickel and dime me and did what needed to be done. My car had a hard rattle and was running terrible and they fixed it with my car only being there one night. A few weeks later something completely different happened and it was something they thought may have been under a warranty at the dealership because my car was newer. They made the calls for me and without any hesitation told me to take it to the deal ship to save money because it was under warranty. They are like a family there and will treat you as such! Highly recommend!

This place is so awesome. I have never felt they have tried to over charge me for anything. My Honda has almost 350K miles and they keep the services up to date and inexpensive. They are always friendly and honest on what needs to be done.

We have been going to J&A for many years and tell everyone that we meet that if they ever have any problems with their cars, to take it to Gabe and Jake. These young men and their staff are true professionals and will work hard and give you the best deal that they can. They go above and beyond what most shops will do. They are honest, hard working, and two of the nicest young men (and staff) that you could ask for. We take our cars to no one else but J&A. If you want the best… go to J&A.

As an update to my original review, I’ve had the misfortune of having the transmission on my truck go out. Not only did J&A provide the best price, but they also provided the best service. The rebuilt unit was not up to snuff and Gabe would not accept this as being a proper way to treat a customer. So, under warranty, the transmission was replaced and now my truck shifts through gears the way the manufacturer intended. I don’t think I’ll ever consider going anywhere else. The crew at J&A are a class act all the way around and is the best type of mechanic you can find — AN HONEST ONE!

Awesome auto repair shop. I live in the OC, but I drove all the way to Norco to have my Acura serviced here. It is really hard to find a repair shop that you can trust. They are an honest business and do great work. I came here because I had my car screwed up by another shop. J & A Auto was able to repair the damage for super cheap! Gabe was the one helping me and he is very friendly and let me know everything that was going on with my car and kept me updated as they went along. They didn’t do any additional unnecessary work in order to get more money out of me. It’s nice to know I have a trustworthy shop to take my Acura to. Piece of mind with the car you drive every day is extremely important.

We found this place based on the good reviews, unfortunately, we had a terrible experience with them. We brought our car in because the a/​c went out and the car had been overheating. They called us to explain that the radiator had a «very small leak» but needed to be replaced right away. They also needed to recharge the freon and remove debris from the a/​c tube to make the a/​c work. We said okay to fixing the AC but mentioned to them that we have a family friend who replaces radiators and we couldn’t afford the almost $ 400 they wanted for parts and labor. We paid $ 80 for the a/​c and bought a radiator for our friend to replace. When we explained to our friend the situation he said «well, they screwed you, because they know that when you replace the radiator in this car you will completely lose the refrigerant for the a/​c and it will have to be recharged again.» So apparently, they knew that recharging our a/​c was a waste of our time and money and never told us that we’d have to do the radiator first or else it would negate all the work they just did. They simply wanted our money and now we don’t have a working a/​c again! Have to pay another $ 60 somewhere else for ANOTHER recharge. I will never go back to them again. They can’t be trusted.

If you are looking for an automotive repair shop with honest mechanics, you’ve found the right one! Our family has 4 old cars that often need work. After trying multiple shops in the Corona/​Norco area, we are grateful to have finally found good mechanics we can trust. We’ve been going to J & A for years now because they provide such great service and fair rates. They are thorough in their inspections to find the cause of your car’s problem and won’t persuade you to do more than necessary to fix it. As busy as they are, they work really quickly and often squeeze in last-​minute appointments. On top of that, Gabe, Jacob, and the rest of the staff are all super friendly– which is an added bonus! I am more than happy with my experience here and would trust these guys with any car problem I have.

The employees at J and A automotive, are the definition of what service should be. Mechanics are always a scary thing to have to deal with, but Gabe and his staff, are the most honest, trusting, and approachable mechanics I’ve ever met. they go to major lengths to be economical for the customers, be fair and flat out give the best prices in town.
