I have been going to Adma biocenter for about 5 months now. I have figured out the routine and which days I can donate. The staff are very helpful and friendly. The place seems very clean and the staff on the floor are very aware and observant of the client’s needs. I like Cameron, Janette, Ben, Jennifer and a few others I don’t know their names. They all work well together and help each other. I know they work long hours often. I commend the hard working staff.

I’ve had a pleasant experience with staff at this facility so far. They’re very friendly. The facility is always very clean, including the restrooms.
If this is your first time visiting be prepared to wait around 4 – 5 hours. It’s just the process they have to go through and there’s no way around it. BRING FOOD on your first day! You are allowed to have food and drink up to the last waiting room before donation. If you have been sitting there for 4 – 5 hours with no food or drink, you will have a reaction (feeling faint, passing out, nausea, vomiting) which could result in an incomplete donation and you not getting paid. Take my word for it. Eat a good meal before you get there and bring a few packs of peanut butter crackers and some water and/​or Powerade.
Once you have finished your donation, you stop by the pay counter so your visit can be processed and you get paid. For payment they give you a prepaid Visa card to load the money on after each visit. I just go to a grocery store to buy a pack of gum so I can get the cash off the card, otherwise if you use it like a debit card it will charge you fees. The first visit you get paid $ 20-​$ 25, and the second visit you get paid $ 35-​$ 40, then $ 20-​$ 25 for any other visits. They do have incentives for a certain number of donations. It will all be explained to you on the first day.
So, once you have the first day over with, your other visits will be a breeze most of time. They do get busy, but nothing like a 5 hour wait. On a busy day you should be in and out in 2 hours or less.

FYI: Leave your valuables at home. The facility is in a shady part of Norcross. You will see some very interesting people coming and going.

I’ve been going to ADMA Bio for a couple of months now. It’s a great place for what it is. Clean, the staff is mostly friendly, you can normally expect quick and prompt service on off-​peak hours. I urge you NOT to go during peak hours. Peak hours are mid-​morning, around noon, and after 3 when folks start getting off of work. Go between and you’ll be fine and happy. They have recently changed their pay schedule, it is more in favor of the donor. How ever they have recently switched from paper checks to Pre-​Pay Debit cards that are loaded with your compensation. The debit cards charge a .25 cent activity fee per-​transaction and a .45 cent insufficient funds fee if you should try to over charge to your card. Compensation is $ 25 for your first visit and $ 40 for your second visit with a $ 20 bonus given on your sixth visit in a four week span (or within a month, I forget which). If you do go twice a week for four weeks you can expect to make $ 250 — $ 300 dollars.

«How to» Donor information on the website is not true. They don’t list all of the requirements and the donor has no idea what they are until they travel to the facility, wait 2 hours, and even get their finger pricked and their arm mutilated with a blood pressure psi arm band. After it was determined that my situation (synthetic hard valve) was too risky, I made suggestions on how to improve the communication between donors and the center. When recommendations were made on how to improve this communication, the manager laughed and said «The website is so many pages; we can’t add all of the information about donor acceptance.»; So, according to ADMA Bio Plasma Center Norcross: It’s better to have one page of lies than multiple pages of truth. Also, the scent of marijuana is so potent, they keep the lobby chilled to 65 °F, which can affect heart rate and blood pressure requirements prior to donating. Do yourself a favor and don’t give this group your plasma or time. They DON“T Deserve your plasma. Hopefully, their NJ office will attempt to make an improvement since apparently wasting donors’ time is a joke to them. It also speaks volumes of how mis-​managed this facility is.

One morning, I had a significant amount of time to kill while waiting for my car to be serviced in the area, so I figured, why not?
First, thank goodness for fellow Unilocaler, Cameron B.‘s great review, I had a general idea of what to expect! Kinda.
The desk tells you 3 hours on your first visit, Cameron B. said 4, I was there exactly (5) FIVE hours on the first visit. I heard from some people they were there 6 – 7 hours on their first visits.
Doing this first visit is like Survival of the Fittest with Will Power. Many people give up, get tired of waiting, or are excluded for various reasons along the way.
The staff is incredibly PROFESSIONAL and COURTEOUS. Amazing! The place is spotlessly clean, and while things move slow, they are ORGANIZED. Kudos to the management and team members! Jobs well done.
FIRST VISIT REVIEW
So, I get there at 9:30am. Apparently, that’s not good because there is a morning RUSH of people EVERY morning, causing a backlog. There’s an area for «new donors», and the old donors go straight to automated kiosks where they check in via fingerprint, face recognition, and a lengthy series of questions.
I wait upwards of about 2 hours to be input into the system, have my veins evaluated for suitabillity (visual check), take a photo, do fingerprints, and have the frequency of donation and pay scale explained to me. You can donate UP to twice a week at $ 25 a pop. You do get a ONE TIME $ 40 on your second visit (which I promptly LOST, as it fell out of my pocket during a stop on the way home. I think I looked for those two twenties for 3 days before finally accepting karma and reality).
***** Unilocal Tip: if your driver’s liscense is out of state, you need a bill DATED WITHIN LAST 30 DAYS showing your CURRENT address. ALSO, you need your SOCIAL SECURITY CARD, not just the number, but the CARD. They are VERY serious about both of these. People got turned away here for not being able to provide these.
**** Unilocal TIP: go to their website and there is a $ 5 coupon that you can ONLY use on your FIRST visit, giving you an extra $ 5, making your payout $ 30 on the first visit.
Next, is a long a** kiosk survey.
After that, I wait some more to be called to have my vitals, iron, protein, and weight checked. Some people got turned away here– make sure your Iron and protein are in check.
THEN, there is a looooong wait for a physical. Several people gave up and quit at this point. It’s a REAL physical. There’s one sweet male nurse doing all the physicals and questionnaires, so this an hour+ wait. You get in there and ALL of your tattoos, if you have any, are MEASURED and documented. **** Unilocal TIP– If you have more than 10 tatts– you are excluded at this point. The rest is a REAL physical. Nothing major, no poking or probing, but all that other stuff. **** Unilocal TIP: if you get a new tattoo or piercing, or alter an existing one, you can’t donate for a YEAR. Pow!
Now, you wait again, but this is the shortest wait, maybe 10 minutes. You GO TO A DONOR chair! It’s COLD in there, the whole building actually. *** Unilocal Tip– bring a jacket and socks. There are rows and rows of fancy high-​tech chairs, each with a TV attached. You get going– if you ***** Unilocal TIP– drank plenty of water the night before, and before you arrived, your donation will move much quicker. Mine took 44 minutes. They say anywhere from 45 minutes to 1hr. 30 minutes for the actual donation. There are some really COOL people working in the back at the chairs– funny, professional, they make it a chill time for all.
FINALLY– you are done, you round the corner, and you have a look of «I’m a FIRST TIMER, and I MADE it! Now, pay me!» Lol! Then, you are handed a check, yes a check, drawn from Sun Trust, there is one enroute to the freeway that will cash for free, or a check cashing place a block away that will cash for $ 1, if you can’t wait to deposit at your own bank.
They tell you they’ll see you in a few days, and remind you that you’ll never spend that much time here again. Usually 1.5 hours, 2 hours tops.
**** Unilocal Tip– arrive between 11:30am-1:00pm. There’s hardly anyone there, and that dreadful morning rush/​backlog is gone. This should still put you back on the freeway at a decent time to avoid traffic.
****** Unilocal Tip– do NOT go here to make friends with other donors. If you drive, many will want to be your friend. You will be asked for cigarettes. You will be asked to put their name down as your referral. You will be asked where you work, and if your employer is hiring. The donor pool is truly a cast of characters. Think about it, who really has a half day to give up to sit to do a medical procedure for a $ 25 check? Friendly, harmless folks, nice people, some quite funny– just don’t find your next date or new bff here. You’ve been advised!
Overall, a pretty cool place, and you really ARE sending your plasma somewhere that it has a chance of helping someone in need.
One star deduction is for length of time on all first visit

Ok, so I’m a poor grad school student, and I decided to make money doing what I already do. I’ve given plasma products for years, and I found this place to give and went right away.
Now, at first, don’t expect to walk in and promptly walk out with a check. The first visit entails quite a bit: Paperwork (including your social security card, driver’s license/​ID, and proof of residency within 30 days.), a physical, a questionnaire you have to answer ever donation, and the actual procedure. They said it’d take around 3 hours start to finish, but my first visit wound up being 4 hours… I was a little perturbed, since I only left with $ 25. Now, that didn’t happen on the following visits, but that’s just the collection of hoops you have to jump through to get to be in the process.
I’d recommend anyone to give, and simultaneously receive. If you go in, Tell them Cameron Banks sent you! They have a ‘buddy bonus’ program!
