I dropped off a comforter, two pillowcases, and a shirt, after picking up my husband’s suits. The suits were clean but had a very distinct starchy smell that was unpleasant. When I went to pick up the new items I had dropped off, the woman at the counter explained to me she didn’t think I wanted the pillow cases cleaned. I was baffled. Why would I have dropped off items if I didn’t want them cleaned?! This was our first and last time using Albano’s. While the woman at the counter did offer to clean the pillowcases, I would have had to wait a week«because households take longer». We paid over $ 90 for two suits, a comforter, and a shirt. Save your money and go to Zoot’s. They are faster, friendlier, and clean everything you drop off.

What’s not to like? They dry clean my clothes so I don’t walk around naked. Professional staff, fair prices and always very helpful when I need a 24-hour turn around for a business trip or hot dates(okay, I lied, I don’t ever have emergency hot dates that require clothes). Also, if you pay in advance, they take 10 percent off. Say, your total bill is $ 35, that’s $ 3.50 you can save to walk across the street to Fairgrounds for a coffee. The law is tough here in Virginia — don’t walk around naked. Get your stuff dry cleaned here!

Oddly, there aren’t may dry-cleaning options around Ghent(or Norfolk for that matter), so the choice to try Albano was pretty easy. Firstly– if you pay up-front when you drop off your clothes then you get an automatic 20% off the dry cleaning. You don’t have to pay cash or anything, just pay in advance. The woman was very nice and friends when I dropped off some pants and a jacket, which were about $ 5 and $ 10(respectively) after the 20% discount. It took about 3 business days to get them back, but I’d imagine they could do it faster if you asked. When I picked up my clothes, there was a different woman working and she was not so friendly and was playing digital BINGO(literally…the numbers were being called out) while she was getting my clothes. Very odd… but I guess not a big deal. Not much to say about the quality, but they did get a pen mark off my pants so I guess that’s evidence that they actually cleaned them? I’ll be back!
