Since it’s founding in 1955, Green View has grown to be one of Central Illinois’ premier Garden Center and Landscaping companies, providing award-​winning landscaping design and build services, and a staff that is committed to the industry.

Our design professionals offer a wide array of knowledge and experience in many areas of design, site planning, construction, maintenance and horticultural practices. Our designers are committed to creating environments that employ natural systems in innovative and imaginative ways while responding to the client’s own unique vision for the landscape.

History

Established in 1955.

Green View is a family owned business founded in Peoria, Illinois, USA in the year 1955 by Peter W. Hoerr (1902 – 1992). Peter’s father, John C. Hoerr, (1872 – 1959) came to America in 1889 from Germany at the age of 16. He was a farmer by trade and later in life became an estate gardener for a prominent family in Peoria. The company originated as «Peter W. Hoerr Trucking and Landscaping,» and had one employee besides Mr. Hoerr and operated out of his home. Like his father, Peter believed, «The customer is always right and give them more than they expect.» These principles still remain the cornerstone of Green View today.

Meet the Manager

Tim S.

Manager

Tim Southey, is a Professional Landscape Architect and IL Certified Nursery Professional with over 30 years of experience. He has been with Green View since 1983 and is currently the Vice President of Landscape. His projects have received national and state industry awards.

Tim graduated from Southern Illinois University’s College of Agricultural Sciences and is the recipient of Southern Illinois University’s Outstanding Alumnus Award. In addition to his continued involvement with the University, he has been involved with Bloomington Normal Sunrise Rotary.

Tim has a passion for plants and nature. He enjoys birding and exploring natural areas with his family.
