This place is amazing. My grandma recently adopted a dog named Avery there and it was really nice it was calm and jumped right into your lap. But… It didn’t like men. So when it met my grandpa it growled and barked at him so my grandma returned him and told them to call him hank because we called him that :(when she told me I acted like it was no big deal but inside I was crying like a baby. That night I cried. I loved that dog so much and they did too. But it just didn’t work out. She even called a training place and they said it wouldn’t get better so they returned him. So today we went to return his life vest and bowl. Then we made a huge mistake we went to see if he was still there and he saw us and he started crying. It broke my heart because I loved him and so did my grandma but he just didn’t like men my grandma looked so sad I just wanted to take him home with me but he wouldn’t like my dad either so my chances are dust. We’re going back next week to check if he’s there and I hope he is. I can’t bear to leave him he was also so adorable. My grandma talked about how everything would get better and how happy he’d be but she returned him and he’s sad. It just breaks my heart to see him so sad and missing my grandma. My grandma had to sign papers saying she wouldn’t try to adopt him again which made me sad because I can’t get her to buy him for me now (lol) he slept with me when I was spending the night at her house and I loved it but that won’t happen anymore. We gave him treats a lot that he loved. I feel ashamed to say this but I lived him more than my own dog. I miss this dog so much and want him to find a good home. I’m crying as I write this I live him so much. But he’s not in my life anymore and I’m trying to forget but I just can’t he was best most well behaved dog there was except for the men. We have gotten all of our kitties from the Humane Society. I personally like their old location better, but the new place is nice and clean. The kittens we got did have ear mites, as it seems impossible to have large number of animals living together without that happening. We were able to treat and get rid of the mites quickly with a vet visit!

Some people harp about lengthy application processes, but I got my two cats here with no problems (24-​hour waiting period). Spayed and neutered, up-​to-​date on shots, and detailed medical exams from the start. $ 75 for 1, $ 100 or $ 125 for two. I’ve never had any problems with the two critters I got here after 3+ years. Clean, friendly staff and volunteers, dogs are walked regularly. They have dogs, cats, kittens, rabbits, and assorted small rodents. Also sell food, litter, crates, treats, and miscellaneous stuff like pens and bumper stickers. Great experience, would do again.
