I’ve never caught a whiff of pretentiousness at Cayman’s. This boutique is as genuine as it gets. Fine designer merchandise presented in an intimate setting by service who make you feel like a priority. Ample parking and the tree lined, serenity-inducing set-back from Main St. are rare bonuses in this city.

The workers there are super nice. A little too nice, which leads me to believe they might get paid commission? Whatever the case, I felt like they were stalking me as I perused the store. Every corner, nook and cranny I was stopped and greeted buy a overly happy and enthusiastic clerk! Normally I wouldn’t mind, but after the uptenth time I was a little annoyed. Not their fault considering management decided to over load of staff that day. The assortment is plentiful for a small boutique. They have designer labels Tory Burch, some Chanel, Chloe, Kate Spade, Marc Jacobs and even Hunter boots! The denim selection is expansive for both men and women, but not as good as Gill’s in my opinion. Great selection to chose from if you don’t want to get something generic at the mall.

I have always experienced excellent service at Cayman’s which is why I go back again and again. The same set of experiences over the years drives me in — my calendar screams at my that I have an event to go to that I should have prepared for, because I knew it was coming, and I have nothing to wear. So I go to Cayman’s in a panic, generally in flipflops, no make-up and a t-shirt that might have a little paint and/or baby vomit on it. And then the staff asks me what I’m looking for and they knock themselves out bringing me dress after dress — they even know what size I am without asking — until I find what I need. And it’s almost NEVER something I would try on myself. I even bought an emerald green silk romper once. Which is ridiculous to say out loud, and yet in reality was freaking awesome, never got so many compliments in my life, once I wore it. In essence, like all things in life, you get what you pay for. If you want high quality clothes with an informed staff, shop at Cayman’s. You can also score a beauty lesson and a new tube of lipstick at the make-up counter and grab a hostess gift while you’re there. Which makes it invaluable one stop shopping for busy folks. It’s truly a boutique department store. If you want a college student to convince you the $ 59 bandage dress looks ‘ruhl, ruhl good, like srsly, you look ahmahzing,’ then have fun at the mall — then enjoy that nasty dress hanging in the closet mocking you because you never should have bought it in the first place. In the long run, you save time and money and look great doing it — at Cayman’s.

Great selections. But really pricey… which is completely understandable. I wish they had a bigger men’s section. Sales staff is always courteous, but they could be a little more helpful. I haven’t had any really bad experiences with them, but sometimes they look at me and don’t say anything to me. If you’re looking for designer casual wear, this is the place to go.

It would be ridiculous to talk or complain about price considering the merchandise that Cayman’s stocks. If you’re expecting it to be cheap, go somewhere else. This is pretty much the only place to buy designer clothes and denim in Norman, and the prices are on par with or slightly cheaper than comparable boutiques in other cities(yay, low cost-of-living!). However, the majority of the sales staff is laughably pretentious considering they’re working in a boutique in Norman, OK, not on 5th Ave. in Manhattan(point your stink-eye somewhere else, skunk-hair-girl), but I’ve also encountered very helpful staff on a few occasions. One girl even took the time to bring me lots of options I never would have tried for myself, which is what sales associates at an upscale boutique SHOULD do. If the staff were friendlier and more helpful, this would get 4 stars for sure. Five stars if they expanded their cosmetics and fragrance offerings. Barring a good sale or comprehensive sales-staff attitude adjustment, I’ll probably avoid Cayman’s in the near future. But when I really need a new pair of jeans or a dress for a special occasion, I’m sure I’ll be glad it’s there.
