Alta Moda Salon

I started coming here because of a Groupon deal I bought a couple of years ago, and I haven’t been anywhere else since. (Actually that’s a lie, I had to go to the nail place in the HIP a couple of weekends ago because I called Alta last minute for an emergency mani & pedi and they were booked, and so at the HIP place I received the most painful pedicure of my life). I see Yolanda at Alta who is the sweetest and most professional nail artist, and can actually design any fun nail art I bring her from magazines, which I do often because I like to try to new things, as does Yolanda. Everyone else there is always friendly too.

My boyfriend and I used a mani-​pedi groupon a few hours ago. I picked this particular groupon because it was in the neighborhood and thought it would be a convenient way to spend an afternoon. Initially, the salon was hard to find because it is hidden off the side of a barber shop next to a café. It is a quaint little place and there is only one woman who does nails, so don’t bring a friend and expect both of your nails to be done at the same time. With that said, my mani-​pedi turned out to be great.
I did not catch the nail manicurist’s name, but she is a very sweet woman who is very thorough at what she does. My expectations are moderately high since I can do my own manicures pretty well, and she did a great job. She pays great attention to detail and gives a nice relaxing hand/​feet massage. The massaging pedicure chair is always a bonus. I would definitely recommend others to give this place a try.

I got a groupon for a friend and me to get mani-pedi’s here. I tried calling Alta Moda several times but they never answered their phone nor do they even have an aswering machine/​voicemail to leave a message. So I drove to the salon, which was nearly impossible to find, and they were closed, during their posted hours. This whole experience was too frustrating and I just want my money back. I do not want to have to try chasing this salon down to use my groupons. Ridiculous!

Great staff, clean and trendy salon, and very reasonable prices. This was my first time there and I was treated like a good friend. They have awesome monthly specials on nails. I will go to this place to get my nails done from now on.

If you want to pamper yourself go to this salon. I went here last week for a manicure and pedicure. Its a new salon and they had specials for the grand opening. Jolanta is the nail artist here. She was so friendly and sweet and even helped me pick a nail color for a Mardi Gras event I was going to on Saturday.
She had great colors from OPI and Zoya. I have only seen Zoya products in very highend salons so this was a great find. Jolanta has been in the business for several years and has worked at salons in Arlington Heights, Northbrook, Wicker Park and Michigan Avenue.
My pedicure was great also. Most relaxing pedicure/​massage chair!
I left with beautiful nails, relaxed and totally loved my afternoon.
I will definitely be back this week. I might even bring my husband for a mani and pedi treat.
