L.A. Tan

Love it here! I was skeptical after reading all the negative reviews. However as soon as I walked in Julia greeting me with a huge smile and gave me a run down of everything they offered. She is an extremely sweet and very helpful employee! The stand up bed I used was very efficient and the fans worked very well (this is important to me). I will definitely be a regular here… thanks LA Tan!

I use to love this location, but recently it’s horrible! The staff is rude, unprofessional and unfriendly. Today was another «emergency» day that I could not tan. Seems strange it always happens about an hour before closing. If this continues I will have to find another place.

Getting better each time I visit!
There is an entirely new staff! The girls up front have been amazing! I’m always greeted with a smile upon entering. I ask what they recommend and they walk me through the different results each bed would give me. Have also been very helpful with product knowledge. Letting me know what product will help me achieve the color I’m looking for. So super sweet. The atmosphere is more pleasant with music and everything is organized and clean!

I seriously LOVE this salon!!! I recently got a new membership there and was blown away by how friendly and personable the staff is. They are always smiling and happy! Everything is clean and very modern. The spray tan machines are absolutely amazing as well! You also can’t beat the membership prices that they have. I am so glad I signed up! Great place, amazing prices, amazing staff!

I think the staff at La tan is remarkable– I have a membership and I receive excellent service. Nikki was the first clerk that completely made me feel welcome and made me look forward to seeing her. She always went the extra mile– sadly Nikki’s schedule changed so I had a few different people in between, then more recently, the last few months I have had the pleasure of dealing with Krystal on a regular basis and she always makes me feel the same way. I think employees say so much about a business and you are fortunate to have these two.

The Place is always Clean. You can eat off the Floor. And the Girls who work there are So Nice and SO Knowledgeable! About Everything from Lotion to Bronzer to Skin Care Questions. Crystal, Nikki and Dori will answer any Questions you have and they are Totally Honest. They arent going to tell you just what you want to hear or just say it to make a Sale. AND they have Red Light Therapy which is like the Best for my Skin!!!
I live on Grand and Central & drive all the way to this Location because of how Professional they are! And the Parking is Free unlike the others in the City, which is a HUGE plus!
I see all these negative reviews and I just dont see how any of that can be true. Kinda makes me think that its other Tanning Salons posting Bad Reviews of their Competitors… which is Bad Bad Karma because this LA TAN is #1 :)

I loved the service I received here, the girl who helped me (she had long red hair and a dark dark tan) was super friendly and told me all the information I needed as a first time tanner. She took her time and educated me on the best lotion for my skin type. What a fun experience! I will for sure be coming back.

This place is so disgusting, the same two girls are always so rude. I’m not asking for a conversation, but a simple smile or hello would be nice. The one with 5 pounds of blush just goes «name –_​-​» with such an attitude. Then tells me I’ll need to wait 30 minutes. I said no I’ll do whatever is available. She huffed and said level 2. I asked if I could do 15 minutes (not knowing that level 2 only is 10 minutes). She said no. Just flat out no. Longest pause, then I finally said, ok 10??? She said fine and rang me up. I swiped my card and went on my way. The room smelled of B. O and sweat. Half the bulbs were out in the bed.
Don’t even get me started on the super rude girl who is a Jersey Shore wanna be. She’s literally orange, smells like cigarettes and wears a size small shirt even tho she’s prob and XL. Don’t tell me that my lotion is expired or bad, just because you want to sell me new ones. I have my own, which is brand new. I don’t need your $ 70 bottle. So pushy and rude.
Update: The one girl (Dori) has been stalking my Facebook and Instagram reporting me for for «nudity in my photos». Making Facebook status’ about me. Stalking my cousin also. Very unprofessional. Using company PRIVATE information to look me up. Corporate has been contacted. I’m sure I’ll get more messages after this. Never coming back.
Btw, the two girls names are Dorrian and Ashely. How do I know this? Because of the status’ and messages on Facebook and Instagram stalking.

This LA tan is beautifully equipped! The place itself was clean and up to date. I recently got a versa spray tan there and it came out evenly and not orange at all. The staff is great! Especially Julia! It was my first time getting a spray tan and she walked me through the hand positions and everything, very helpful! I truly recommend this place to everyone!

Level three beds are awesome. I’m a tanning lover– don’t buy any of their lotions. Amazon has for ¹⁄₃ of the price and stick to level three beds for a good tan! $ 5 Tuesday’s are awesome. Maybe hiring a professional front desk staff should be their next idea for improving their salon.

If I could give this place zero stars, I honestly would. This place is an embarrassment for the company. Majority of the girls who work here are rude, especially one who’s name might be Katie, I’m not sure, but you can easily tell which one she is. She is the most arrogant one there with approximately 15 pounds of makeup on her face.
I came in for my first cocktail tan, and I had some questions for her and she acted like I was bothering her. Uh hello… this is your job. She didn’t answer all my questions, and I ended up messing up the tan.
I looked through the reviews here and noticed that their manager, SAMKO, had posted his number, 312 775 2105, on here so I decided to give him a call. I think I left him 3 voicemails and called repeatedly on many occasions and got nothing. 3 weeks after I tried to call again and miraculously, he blessed me with an answer. He acted like he was going to do so much and promised me a courtesy tan, and then hangs up on me, and doesn’t answer when I call back. He is an ass. I’m surprised this place is still even open and running.
If you are signed up with LA tan, do yourself a favor and go to their Belmont and Central location. Much nicer, cleaner and there are really cool girls working there.

The only thing this location has on the other LA Tans is they are open late! Other than that, the girls who work here are very rude and unprofessional. A couple weeks ago, I was on my way here to tan and I remembered they were closing at 11pm. I also remembered from the past, they usually take their last client at about 10:45pm.
I called and asked the girl if it would be okay if I get there by 10:45 pm. I asked if I would still be able to tan considering they’re about to close soon. She nicely said it would not be a problem at all. I was very appreciative! So I get there by 10:45 and I did the stand up tan, which is only for 10 min. I was completely done and out of the tanning room by 11 o’clock. I said goodbye to the girl up front, and told her to have a good night. Then she stops me and tells me rudely, «In the future we can not do this again. I already had a complaint about it!» I was really confused so I asked her, «A complaint from who?» She replied, «One of the supervisors.»
I thought that was rude of her to speak to me that way when she clearly gave me the permission to come at 10:45pm. If it was going to be such a problem, then she should’ve never told me that it would be okay. I was never insisting towards her. I simply asked her from the beginning if I could come, & I think I even mentioned that if its not allowed I totally understand. She was welcoming to let me tan. So for her to speak to me that way when I left, was unnecessary.
Other than this little incident, I’ve always noticed the girls are not really attentive to the customers. They’re always either on the phone or talking to their friends. I have a lot of friends who’ve came to this location in Norridge, and it’s funny because they always walk out complaining about the staff! I also noticed that their beds are not that great either! When I go to other LA Tan locations, I receive great color from their beds. Maybe the beds at the Norridge location are old, but I never see the same results.
I would recommend going to the LA Tan on Milwaukee & Foster or the one on Belmont! Both in Chicago! The staff at those locations are beyond friendly and always there to answer questions!

The girls that work there are rude and will screw you over. One of them used my upgrade without letting me know so I could redeem it the same week instead it all went to waste. Their beds are not cleaned well. Just try removing the bed pillow and you could see all the dirt like it was not cleaned for days. I don’t think they change their bulbs often i went there for 10 minutes stand up and was not even a little darker than before while I went to a different Latan location for 7 minutes stand up and got tanned. NEVER COMING BACK TO THIS PLACE AGAIN! Waste of time and money!

Please, please, please do not waste your time and money going to this particular LA Tan.
From the moment you walk in or call, the front desk attendant is miserable and very unapproachable. You will also notice a strong smell of cigarette smoke when you enter the location, which also resonates from the girl who was working during my visit.
I have been a member with La Tan since 2009 and have been to over 6 different IL locations, and this by FAR is the most disgusting, dirty and gross one to date.
The beds are all in disrepair and dirty. The rooms are dirty the floors are dirty the entire place is GROSS. I felt like i needed to put hand sanitizer all over my body when leaving.
Go elsewhere if you can! Trust me.

This review is strictly for Norridge location. I visited this place on Tuesday morning and asked them if they still have special for Tuesdays $ 5 for any level. One of the girls said yes, so I was like cool. The other one named Ashley asked for my first and last name, she also asked me if I would like to use my tanning $ I was like sure if I can use it I will. I did not even know I had any left, anyway making long story short, after she redeemed my $ 10 tanning money she told me my balance was little bit over $ 6 I was like hold on girl, You just took my $ 10 tanning money and you will charge me additional money and today you have special for $ 5 ??? In very rude way she responded you told me to use it… For real you are working there and you know, you are just screwing me over and you blame on me … I pointed out to her right away that I do not like this … she made face and was like whatever. So rude and so unprofessional to try to overcharge people … I will make sure to email their corporate office as well. This kind of behavior is totally wrong.

I used to work at LA Tan at a different location and have been tanning at LA Tans for the last six years. As employees, each one of us were held to an extremely high standard of keeping the place extremely clean. Not only that, we offered both membership options and tanning dollar packages. This place is the only LA Tan I have ever been to that did not offer tanning dollars, only memberships. The whole reason why I switched back to this LA Tan (after spending too much money at Palm Beach) was because of the option to get tanning dollars! Not only that, this was the most disgusting LA Tan I’ve ever been to. The walls were sticky and the bed did not look up to code. Halfway into my tan, the stereo came on full blast and I was unable to turn it down or change the station.
Will not be tanning here ever again.

Errrrr no. The only reason I joined this chain of tanning salons is the only place I get get to and back in an hour or less from my work on lunch is the Riverwoods LA Tan. So on the weekends, I go to the Norridge one. its like comparing apples to oranges.
While Riverwoods/​Deerfield location has friendly staff, awesome beds, and a clean facility, the Norridge one cant compete. For one, they dont have any mirrors around so you can fix yourself before leaving. no deodorant. The beds are outdated, and seems the bulbs need to be changed. There is always this pretentious platinum blond they have working there, who just stands around. Shes so short, when you walk in you have to look OVER the counter to see her. Anyways, another thing is the staff here wont tell you if you have upgrades on your account. I had to have Deerfield point this out, when I wanted to do the level 2 bed. Norridge will just tell you «you get seven minutes free».
Recently they had J-​Wow at the Noridge location. I was like what the hell? For one, this location is in the middle of Norridge (just your ordinary town), and two, its so dimmly lit and dusty, who in their right mind would want to visit? Especially a celebrity. Ive been to Streamwood & Deerfield LA Tans, and I can tell you they are much better than this dump. Again, the only reason I joined is b/​c I needed to be able to tan on lunch during the week, and LA Tan is the only place remotely near my work… if you have the choice, join Golden Brown across the street. They have Ergoline beds, large suite-​like rooms w/​mirrors, and provide wipes, goggles, deordorant, ect.

One of the worst LA Tan locations. It is a bit dirty looking inside and the beds do not seem to tan very well (old bulbs?). The fans are ancient looking and rattle loud enough to be audible over the bed and music. The last time I went there were dust bunnies all over the place… even inside of the bed! Gross! I once got locked in a room here and no one seemed to notice… I had to call my friend who was tanning in another room to get me help!
The staff here are often too busy talking to one another to notice that you even arrived. The employees are never very nice or helpful. I only go here when I need an emergency destressing on my way to night class after work!

Do not go after 9pm it get’s sooo packed but i always love the music.
