History

Established in 1978.

Nancy Chippendale’s Dance Studios, established in North Andover in September 1978, is owned and operated by Nancy Chippendale Carberry, her husband Bob Carberry and their three daughters Karen, Kelli and Kristina Carberry. Nancy opened the doors with just ten students in the first year in the Grange Hall in the North Andover Old Center. With each growing year the number of students increased as well as the size of the faculty and facility. Today, Nancy Chippendale’s Dance Studios is one of the largest, most prestigious private dance studios in the country. Students travel from around the globe to train at the North Andover studio.

Business Owner

Nancy Chippendale is the owner and director of Nancy Chippendale’s Dance Studios, founder of the Nancy Chippendale Scholarship Program and Nancy Chippendale Dance Company. She has held the titles of USA Tap Coach at the World Tap Championships and World Champion Choreographer multiple times. Nancy served as the US judge at the International Dance Organization’s World Ballet, Tap, Jazz and Modern Championships and the National German Tap Dance Championships. Nancy is a full time faculty member at her North Andover studio, where she teaches students of all ages and abilities. Nancy comes from a strong base of traditional ballet, jazz and tap training from the Vicki Jo Boyer School of Dance in Dayton, OH. Arriving on the professional dance circuit at 19 years old, Nancy trained with dance legends Frank Hatchett, Gus Giordano, Art Stone, Debbie Dee and Jo Rowan. She went on to share the stage with tap great Gregory Hines.
