History

Established in 2004.

I have trained in the Martial Arts for over 20 years now, and I love it today even more than I did when I first got started. There are so many positive benefits to Martial Arts training; it is truly something that can change a person’s life. When I was growing up I lived in a very rough area, and if i did not have such a positive outlet such as Martial Arts training who knows how I would have ended up. I can truthfully say that the Martial Arts turned my life around and in many ways it has saved my life. I want to use the Martial Arts to help guide others on the right paths in their own lives. I started my Martial Arts Studio because I want to make a difference in people’s lives.

I have been attending the kickboxing classes offered here. I originally purchased a Groupon, but continued attending because of the motivation offered by the school’s two trainers– Robbie and Daniel. They certainly know their stuff. I’ve never worked so hard during a one hour workout as I do during their classes. No matter the class size, the instructors are able to quickly adapt their classes so that each participant gets the best workout possible. I cannot say enough about Daniel Sterling and his Academy!

This place is a gem! I started kickboxing with my friend here this past week. We went to the Friday night class which was led by Robbie and assisted by Jenn. They were both extremely helpful while pushing you further than you thought you could go. They aided in getting the stances correct and provided one on one attention. The class was fun with varying fitness levels participating harmoniously. It was one of the best workouts of my life and I plan to continue here. The workout involved hitting and kicking the bag while also including core and other strengthening exercises. The pink gloves made it one better and I was able to completely relieve all of the week’s stress by punching until I could no longer. The hour flies by with a variety of rounds in which you work on different combinations of punches and kicks.
The studio itself was immaculate with locker rooms and a play area for the kids. I was so pleasantly surprised when I walked in that I was in disbelief people worked out in such a pristine environment. I would highly recommend this place for a good workout and some stress relief!

When I finally finished my Master’s degree a few years ago, I felt as if I needed to find something to fill in the gap left by not having to go to classes anymore. With a family, work, and everything else, I also needed to make sure that whatever activity I chose, it would make the least impact on life at home, in terms of scheduling. I looked at several different Brazilian Jiu-​Jitsu and Mixed Martial Arts programs but decided on DSMAFC because of its’ class times and location, they were convenient; this is one of those times when convenience definitely worked out in my favor.

After a few weeks of going to the BJJ classes there, I decided to enroll my daughter in the Little Warriors Martial Arts program. At that time, she was extremely shy, and I wanted to give her a chance to gain some confidence in a setting that would be non-​threatening and empowering at the same time. In addition to this, I also wanted her to have some sort of scheduled activity that was not related to school. Since that initial class of hers, while still a little shy, she has managed to «come out of her shell», and is much more outgoing, and a lot less apprehensive when trying new things, than when she started.
In addition to the social and physical benefits that my daughter and I have gotten since joining DSMAFC, we now also have in common, related activities — martial arts and bjj — that are very similar in nature, something that not all fathers and daughters get to experience. I would highly recommend any of the programs offered at Daniel Sterling Martial Arts and Fitness Center to anyone interested in some sort of physical activity.

I love Daniel’s fitness kickboxing! Aside from meeting some great people, it has made me feel strong & in shape. Even though my butt gets kicked every class, I always leave feeling great and I am always glad I crawled out of bed or off the couch to get there!
It is definitely an amazing cardio and all over body workout that is also fun. However, I do have to say that one of the best perks is that we get to wear gloves and hit real bags!
His classes are beneficial for the mind and body. It is amazing what a couple months or years of cardio training can do to increase physical and mental strength. Fitness kickboxing is the best and most exciting form of exercise in my opinion. I look forward to working out week after week and I can honestly say I am addicted to his classes & don’t know what I would do without them. Anyone who wants to get their heart rate jumping in a fun and exciting atmosphere, this class is for you!
