As of March, 2013, we have done over 17,500 spays and neuters and many more vaccines. Our goal is to decrease the amount of animals brought into area shelters and ultimately euthanized. We are available to everyone regardless of income or location. Our fees are about ¼ of full service veterinarians due to the fact that we have low overhead — no expensive laboratory or x-​ray equipment but our surgeries are the same as a full service vet. We specialize in spaying and neutering and, therefore, can do it inexpensively.

It was my job as an animal shelter manager to euthanize innocent dogs and cats. This broke my heart and I knew there had to be a way to avoid this, so I opened a discount spay/​neuter clinic so the general public could afford to have the surgery done, even if it was a stray. Most people, even wealthy people, don’t want to spend a lot of money on a stray, but with CSRA Life Saver, they can afford to have their pet fixed without any major financial burden. The fees are $ 45 — $ 100. We have been very successful and welcomed by the community. Our goal is to decrease the amount of dogs and cats at area shelters and thereby decrease the amount euthanized. At the present time, it is about 85% that are killed only because there aren’t enough homes for them all. Euthanasia is not a good solution for over-​population, but prevention is.
