Itty Bitty Inn

This 5-​room roadside inn is the best!!! I travel to the area for work and I can’t imagine why I’d ever want to stay anywhere else! 100% good vibes. Rik and Donna are incredibly friendly and hospitable. After my first visit they treated me like family! The rooms are clean, cozy, and retro-​quirky. You can borrow a growler or rent an Atari 2600 or record player. Lots of attention to detail. Rik personally grinds the coffee, which is locally roasted. The beds are very comfortable (soft, not hard mattresses). Yes you can hear traffic on the highway, and yes the walls are a little thin, but Rik and Donna do everything possible to make sure you’re comfortable and things quiet down overnight. They are so thoughtful and sweet. They care about their community, the environment, and each guest that comes though their door. It’s truly a gem of a place.

Rik is an old school business owner. It’s all about customer service! He first greeted us with a hug and threw down all the good eats in the area. This place fits it’s name and it is super clean, comfortable, and quiet. They support local businesses as well. They have small growlers, «growlettes», you can fill your 32 oz across the street. They have many pulls and it was like $ 5.00. Best of all Atari 2600! Oh and not just one game a collection of classics. If we are ever up here again we will definitely hit up our new friend Rik. Thank you Rik for all of your hospitality.

My wife and I stayed in room #3 on May 18^th. The owners are so good at making everything special and personal. I had never met them but they treated us like old friends. It was the first time I’ve ever been hugged by the staff. If you need to stay around Coos Bay /​North Bend, I definitely recommend the Itty Bitty Inn. The two owners will help you with anything; this is much more than a job to them. They’ll even take you out on a bike ride or crabbing trip. They have cool cruising bikes but I was too lazy to get up early and go for a ride before we had to continue on our journey. I also wanted to drink all of the local coffee they provided but I downed about half of it. The local products, quirky touches, and welcoming congeniality easily earns 5 stars.

We were delighted with the hospitality! Rick waited for us past midnight, when our drive from BC got delayed. We felt welcome and very comfortable. We really appreciated the vintage décor and the cute touches in the room that made us smile. The fresh ground coffee in the morning was just a cherry on the top!

So very pleased with my stay here. The owners added special little things like fresh ground wonderful coffee grinds for the room, hand crafted great little soap to use in the bathroom, nice thick towels etc etc. Really made me feel welcome and comfortable. Thank you so much…

When I return to North Bend/​Coos Bay, my wife and I will return to the Itty Bitty Inn nooooooo doubt. We really appreciated Rik & Donna’s warmth and kindness as the best inn keepers in the world. Our room was super comfortable and clean. Our bike ride was relaxing and nice. And I enjoyed some awesome cider out of my Itty Bitty half growler and then bought the growler as a souvenir. I 100% recommend you stay if you are visiting the area!!!

With only five rooms the name is accurate. We loved the charming rooms and Rik the inn keep was a gem we will remember. He made lots of recommendations for eateries and all were good. We even found one for him to try if ever a french dip is on the radar, the Alder House is awesome. Had never been to that area before so it was all a new experience. It’s a little noisy with the 101 truck traffic so if you like to sleep with the windows open, consider earplugs, otherwise if the windows are closed it’s a beautiful thing.

Little boy tossing ball, which accidentally goes into the street. Oh no! Here comes a car! Looks like that little dog is toast! But wait! From the other side of the street, a shout, a blur– why it’s a man running out in the the street at risk to his own life, scooping up the frightened puppy and saving him from certain doom! The boy watches it all, astonished!
«Wh– wh– who are you, sir?»
«Son, I’m an innkeeper! You and your pup have a splendid day, now, hear?» And with that, he continued down the street, whistling a happy tune.
On that day, at that moment, that little boy made a solemn vow– not only to become an innkeeper, but to become the best innkeeper in the entire world.

My new place I’d like to call my second home. Best place in coos bay/​north bend. This is not ur average run of the mill hotel, they care about their guests, unlike most places you find. All local amenities,& a special welcome home atmosphere. Not tons of rooms, so make reservations. Free Bikes to ride, great location, close to all u need. More than awesome, caring,& thoughtful staff, clean rooms,& a touch of class not seen much anymore– open minded,& respectful, couldn’t ask for more!

Nothing but kind words for the Itty Bitty inn. My girlfriend and I traveled up the west coast and stopped off in Coos bay. I must say it was one of the most cleanest places that we had encountered as far as hotel/​inns go. Rik is very knowledgable on the land so ask any question about hiking, eating, drinking or the Coos bay history and you will be in for a wealth of knowledge. There are complementary bikes, coffee and local oatmeal. You have to stop by the Itty bitty Inn you won’t regret it. I will be staying out there in the near future if my travels take me pass coos bay.

This is the cutest place with the friendliest hosts, Rik and Donna! They ARE the Itty Bitty Inn! Their love and devotion to this little gem is obvious from all the 60’s kitsch finds, to the gourmet tea and coffee in your room.
They’ve done a good job restoring and bringing life back to this little road side motel. We loved our stay, complete with growlers provided for enjoying the amazing selection of local brews at the very funky market across the street. We tasted the brews while visiting Horseshoe Falls Beach for a sunset experience before we went to the most amazing sushi restaurant ever, Tokyo Bistro, both recommended by Rik of course.
For the price, you can’t beat the Itty Bitty Inn!

We had a terrific experience. We called in a few minutes before the office was closing and Rik left us a key in the mailbox even though we hadn’t paid or given him any credit card info. He was great to chat with and the place was very affordable and pretty clean and they provide oatmeal and coffee and tea, a mini fridge and microwave. We really were made to feel right at home. Definitely better than the big chains in every way.

Quite clean and affordable. The owners are super great, proud of their town and support of it. Helped make me feel welcome, gave me some great tips on where to eat. The room was comfortable, clean, and cozy. What more could you want? Next time I pass through, I will be sure to stay again.

Rik is probably the coolest dude in Oregon, if not the United States. He couldn’t have been more helpful or more gracious. The room was clean, the Oregon Oats were delicious, and the stay was very affordable. Rik even offered to take us crabbing, but I couldn’t make it work. Next time, Rik. We’ll be back someday, hopefully sooner rather than later.

I cannot fully express how much I enjoyed staying at the Itty Bitty Inn. Rik has done a wonderful job at creating a warm and welcoming environment. The Inn is not your typical coastal lodging, it has personality.
Upon arrival we were greeted with stories of the Great State of Jefferson (just google it, its a fun history lesson) and immediately purchased a growler and filled it up with local beer right across the street. Our room was spotless and we were met with fresh cut local flowers — a nice touch.
We spent the weekend trekking around the Oregon Dunes and adventuring around the coastline. The Inn is prime location for a diverse set nature-​filled adventures. Each morning we enjoyed freshly ground local coffee – this was some of the best coffee I have ever had, and I’m usually more of a tea girl myself.
Another highlight of our stay was the Beach Cruisers we borrowed (equipt with «cup» holders and a beer opener). Thoroughly enjoyable.
Also Rik told us he was restoring Atari’s so each room will soon be equip with a retro gaming console. I can’t wait to check it out on our next visit. We’ll totally be back.

Rik and Donna are the experience! They had us in stitches and couldn’t be kinder or more helpful if they tried. The room was EXCEPTIONALLY clean… Local coffee, great tea, local oatmeal, local chocolate and local soap included! Did I mention local??? Free bikes to borrow. Grab a growler and two beer glasses from the office and head across the street to fill up with local beer! If you want to avoid the average boring motel experience and meet two people who can’t wait to help and make you laugh hurry and make your reservation for Itty Bitty Inn! It’s a steal at $ 60 + tax, etc

5 stars are not enough. We stayed here last week and I cannot stop thinking about the Itty Bitty Inn. Rik and his wife provide such a special place for travelers on the road. This is much more than just a place to sleep, it is cozy home away from home.
Rik cares about his guests and his community so much and it shows. From the French pressed local coffee, to the rich, decadent chocolates he provides in your room (handmade by a local chocolateir), to the growlers he provides in your room so you can go across the street and fill up on tons of delicious local Oregon beers, the Itty Bitty Inn is a symbol of support for local creativity. Travelers can soak up the feeling of North Bend because of this.
A little snapshot of memory: having an amazing conversation with Rik, walking over to the unbelievable deli across the street, talking the the friendly people who work there, loading up on Umpua creamery ice cream (a MUST TRY), growlers full of Archstone Porter, heading back to our room, drinking beer, eating ice cream in our warm room, watching the Simpsons and laughing our asses off!
This was easily my favorite part of my trip to Oregon and I can’t wait to go back. I can’t stop thinking of this place, and every time I do, I smile. I am already planning our next visit! I will forever love the Itty Bitty Inn!

Looking for a comfortable, and welcoming place to stay in Coos Bay? The Itty Bitty Inn, is that place.
Our room was really cozy, well stocked and clean. The rooms aren’t the biggest, but they have amazing décor, and are very well kept.
The Itty Bitty Inn has bicycles to loan out as well. Unfortunately, it was too cold to go for a ride, but I thought that was really cool of the proprietors to provide that option!!!
There is the mother of all liquor stores across the street from the Itty Bitty In, and it is also in walking distance to anything you’d need… Restaurants, Auto Repair, and a great local grocery store selling local goods.
The real gem of this place is Rik. Full of info and positive energy, he is just another awesome aspect of this wonderful place. Rik is sort of like your personal tour guide to coos bay, and the surrounding areas!
Highly recommended! Stay a couple days!

Very nice place! Great owners and very clean place! Highly recommend! Vintage décor very roomie great location block away from all night mini mart mart even has butcher shop wide selection of items! Came back still the Best!

This is a place I would probably drive by and not consider. Thanks to Unilocal and other reviewers, I took a chance. I will happily suggest anyone staying in the north bend/​coos Bay Area to crash here for the night.
The warm welcoming and clean rooms beat most inns and motels alike.
Great rates, comfy bed and homemade soaps. Plus, they offer french pressed local coffee instead of generic instant packets.
