Do not use this service! I made the mistake of purchasing a living social coupon for junk refund and scheduling an appointment three weeks in advance of my move date to have a bunch of stuff removed from my new place. After having left work and driven over to my new apartment to meet the junk removal folks, and then waiting for more than 30 minutes, I called to discover that Alan had forgotten about the appointment and said he would call me when he was done with the job he was working on. He called three hours later and said it was too late in the day to come and do the job and would need to reschedule. So, five hours wasted for me! We rescheduled. Would you believe he did it again? So, unless you really enjoy irresponsible people wasting your time, go somewhere else.

I really wish I had checked Unilocal before dealing with this company! Alan Cook is a crook who doesn’t care about customer service only about the dollars in his pocket. I was referred to this company and booked them to come one Saturday. I prepaid and Alan called that morning to cancel. I then asked for a refund and it’s been three weeks and lots of promises without my refund. I sent a claim to my credit card company, will file a complaint with the BBB and Montgomery county consumer affairs. Do not hire this company!

Just set your stuff on fire, because if you give it to them, you will never see a penny. They do not even make a list of what they pick up. I’ve contacted them twice to see if anything sold. The first time Alan «forwarded the message to the store» so they could check, but I never got a response from them. The second time I contacted Alan, I received no response from him either. Seriously, you are paying these people to steal your stuff. I’m filing a complaint with the Better Business Bureau.

They did well, especially with the hurricane upsetting communications, etc. They called to say they were delayed. Moved our stuff out quickly and efficiently. Very friendly.

I can’t say enough bad about 1 – 800 Junk Refund. They came over two hours late, and because the building requires movers to be done by 5 PM, they did not salvage anything. They just went through the place, literally throwing things, which they could have sold, such as crystal and china, into sacks.
The laborers certainly worked hard, but they told me that they are always late and disorganized, for which they blame the boss. One of them even told me that I should be watching the truck and counting the number of loads, because they charge $ 500 for each. Clearly they implied that the boss was not to be trusted.
Despite their claim when I hired them of sorting things into trash, donations and things to auction, I overheard one worker tell another that tell another that they just threw it into the building dumpsters. There were some items in the truck when they were leaving, but they had handled things so roughly that I doubt any was saleable. They did not even get my address to send any proceeds from selling any of it.
They also used vulgar language in front of me. At my age, I am not shocked, but I do
know disrespect when I hear it. No stars. Thumbs down. Do not hire these people. »
