Coppa’s Service Center & Towing

Absolutely do not give any of your business to this place. If I could give them zero stars, I would.
Firstly, they towed my car – my fault, yes. But when I went inside my house to get my wallet to pay the unhitching fee of $ 95 (he hadn’t driven off with my car yet. In fact, it wasn’t even mounted or latched to the truck, so I’m not sure that legally they could have charged me anything at all), the lunatic tow truck driver drove off with my car.
I called Coppa’s and told them to return my car immediately, or I was calling the police. The character on the phone replied «f*** you! Call the police! You can’t do s***!»
He then lied to the desk clerk (when I showed up absolutely irate) that I never said I was going to pay the fee. The fact that releasing my car from the yard is $ 125 must be purely coincidental. He went on some tirade about how he makes a little over minimum wage and that’s more than I make (that’s inaccurate, but really a moot point anyway). I negotiated in their poorly kept front room for an hour before whatever front desk clerk released my vehicle for $ 95 and apologized that their tow truck driver is «a little slow».
I asked for the names of all of the people involved and I requested to speak to a manager, all of which was denied. I told them I was reporting them to the better business bureau for questionable business practices. The owner/​managers subjectively couldn’t be bothered…
Fast forward, I smooth things over because I don’t like conflict. They offer a free oil change for the trouble and since everyone is getting along, I asked them to take a look at my brakes because they’ve been deteriorating. They report back to me that I need $ 378 of work because my rear brakes are shot. I purchased the parts on the order form from Advanced Auto because I found that Coppa’s parts markup was 30%, although the typical markup should be only about 10%. I believe the guy at Advanced Auto told me it’s only «SUPPOSED» to be 10%, which indicates to me either a common practice, or perhaps a legal cap.
After I discovered this yet further opportunistic and dishonest manipulation on the part of Coppa’s, I took my car to a friend of a friend to do the brakes. He took my car apart and showed me the brakes. He showed me the new rear brake set I just bought and the brakes presently on the rear of my car. No difference. He said my rear brakes have tens of thousands of miles left on them and that Coppa’s lied to me about my rear brakes being the problem. He realigned everything, adjusted the brakes and checked the front. I exchanged all of the parts for a front brake system and he did all of the work for $ 60, total. Maybe 45 minutes of his time. No more wobbly brakes and everything is working great.
Never go to Coppa’s. In my experience, they lie, steal, cheat, manipulate, are incompetent, and generally fall in the bottom 5% in terms of customer service on all fronts.

Just found out they put our tires on backwards. They caused us to have to move out of state without our car and over a year later we find that they did not even put our tires on correctly. There are no words for how much they screwed up our car, how much they screwed us over and how much they charged for the privilege. They are horrible.
