Business Owner

Andrew, our main instructor, is known throughout the United States. He has earned numerous national grappling titles and numerous first place finishes in both NAGA and Grapplers Quest. Andrew is considered one of the top grapplers and MMA Fighters on the East Coast. Andrew, is a former undefeated Amareur Boxer with many accolades. He currently is a contracted fighter for Bellator. Andrew, holds a IBJJF second degree black belt.

I been training here for years, this is without a doubt one of the most professional gyms around, the staff keeps everything clean, everyone is very friendly, if you are thinking about trying out mma, or any of the martials arts they offer, This is the place to do it. I’ll admit, I don’t know all that much about MMA beyond watching a couple UFC fights on TV, but I’m learning.
My daughter has been taking classes with Andrew Calandrelli at Ultimate MMA in North Haven for a few months now. She was introduced to MMA through a friend, and I was definitely skeptical at first — a little girl fighting?
We went to a class to check things out, figuring that we’d watch for a bit and that would be that. When we walked in, the owner’s wife, Andrea, greeted us, answered questions, and offered a free class to try things out right then and there. My daughter had a blast, so we signed her up. She looks forward to classes twice a week, and just recently went to a grappling tournament in Hartford.
She’s having fun and learning some great self-​defense moves that I’m happy she’ll have but hope she never needs to use.
There are classes available for all men, women, boys, and girls. The sessions are a mix of stretching, exercises, instruction, and grappling practice. Similar to karate, participants earn stripes and belts, working their way up.
