Best place I’ve found! All you do is drive in and pop your trunk — they unload the bags, separate them, weigh them and the five you a ticket to get the cash. The employees are nice snd helpful.

This is the recycler my family uses when we have the need. The drive in setup is easy and convenient, unlike other places. There’s always plenty of help unloading and the customer service booth is quick and friendly. The only drawback here is the lax adherence to their posted hours. They don’t open on time on weekends and sometimes close early.

Awesome customer service. Staff are very friendly and eager to assist you. Easy stalls to pull into, one way entrance and exit. Super, easy quick and professional. Just wish they paid a bit more. The prior recycling center I used in Elk Grove paid .15 per. lb. higher on aluminum.

Know your scrap !! Any metal not totally free of other material … i e. rivets, fasteners etc will downgrade the whole load. And be prepared to wait for that cash — usually couple days. Scrap is now crap job and not worth my time.

This place is as great as a recycler can be. Shaded, plenty of staff to help. Everyone super nice. In and out experience.

Located in Rio Linda, this is the recycling center that my husband and I frequent as the only recycling centers in Natomas are run out of a shipping containers. It’s a bit of a drive to DC Metals but it is totally worth it.
The only other recycling center I have been to is the one on Power Inn after Folsom Blvd and have only those experiences to gauge DC against. With that said, I absolutely love DC Metals! They have a streamlined process where you park in the pre-​arranged «parking spots» (areas designated by various trash cans and cones) and grab either the plastic or metal bins to sort your glass, plastic, and aluminum. During the sorting process, an employee will usually head over to help you sort your items but if it is busy, you may be on your own. After you are done sorting, your recyclables are weighed and you are given a sticky note that you take to their office’s window where you are given cash and a receipt.
As a tip, I would avoid the afternoons on the weekend as the line will be backed up onto the street. This was the case this morning, so we flipped a U and started a line off the side of the road near the entrance so we didn’t back up traffic but also ensured our space in the line. As with all recycling centers, it is grimy and there is usually a good amount of broken glass scattered across the area so I would avoid flip flops and make sure you bring lots of Purell to clean the recycling goop off your hands.

I think what i like the most about this place is the service! In my experience… handsome looking fellow was the most polite human being i think i have ever had the pleasure to know. on another note. professionalism and organized!

DC metals is a great recycling place, they are super organized. YOu pull into the lot into an unloading spot (under cover out of rain and sun), they have plenty of people to help and you load your bags of cans and bottles into big wire bins, then they weigh you out and give you money. Sweet! It’s amazing how those soda and beer cans add up.
