Bought a mattress so the lady told us to come back at 4pm. Came back at 4 and the place was closed! Hours on the doors says 10 – 6.

Bought my first home and I went to Sam’s design gallery to buy my furniture. I went in not too sure what pieces of furniture I would need or the kind that would look best in my empty home, but thankfully Sam was incredibly helpful. I was able to show him pictures of my house from the real estate listing and we went room by room and he made recommendations on what pieces of furniture would look good and the best way to set them up. He was very enthusiastic and eager to help me through the process.
Picked out a gorgeous bedroom set, including a mattress, living room set, and dining room set. Great price and great furniture. I get a lot of compliments on my furniture and «my» great taste. Wouldn’t hesitate to go back to Sam if I need anything else!

I drive by this place on my way home everyday so when I needed a couch, I tried them first.
I just walked on of this place ten minutes ago and the older lady who was sitting at the desk was on the phone the whole time. Did not greet me when I walked in, did not say anything to me until I walked my way thru the whole store finishing near her, then she said «I’ll be right with you» barely stopping her phone conversation.
Finally I walked out because I had questions her phone conversation were too busy for.
I wanted to support a small business but im definitely going back because of lack of any kind of customer service.

Idk why this place has so many bad reviews, I would recommend Sams to any friend or family member in the area for furnishing needs without a question. They’ve always been able to accommodate me with what I was looking for at a fair price and with good customer service. Drop by and give them a try.

Ok. So Unilocal like the ones below, are a HUGE reason why this app does not deserve the credit that a lot of people give it and why frankly I choose my experiences on word of mouth rather than spoiled Unilocalers.
Let me tell you about customer service.
Let me tell you that Sam personally contacted me, when I made a general inquiry about my search for a sectional sofa. Let me tell you that Sam personally chose two versions of a sofa and gave me a choice as to which one I liked better. Let me tell you that Sam personally closed the store after his closing hour and tended to me and helped me find the sofa of my dreams. Let me tell you that Sams prices are the absolute BEST in town and he will work with you depending on your situation.
Sam is an incredibly, hardworking, patient, dedicated man to his community and his customers. Treat him right, and he will without a doubt return the favor.
OH! And on top of that, let me tell you that Sam PERSONALLY DELIVERED THE SOFA TO MY HOME AND HELPED ME ADJUST IT.
If that is not incredible customer service, then seriously, People today have a HUGE problem with recognizing greatness and for that, I personally DENOUNCE every negative Unilocal on Sams Design Gallery…

I purchased an awesome bed set with mattress for the guest house I stay in when I come to visit my mom. The store was clean and well organized, great quality furniture that you won’t find in cheap stores like Ikea. Plus I wasn’t forced to walk through a maze to check out the selection. #ikea sucks
I will defiantly being buying from here when I’m ready to update the living room furniture :)

Local family owned business with affordable prices. Sam is so sweet and helped me find exactly the best bedroom set I was looking for with the money I had available. I definitely recommend coming here and I will be back when it’s time to update my living room!

I don’t know what all these bad reviews are about. Sam is an amazing businessman! He beats everyones prices in sacramento. I furnished my whole house from him and he gave me a GREAT deal that I couldn’t have gotten anywhere else. I checked Becks and american furniture gallery before I went to Sam, and they wanted to charge me over $ 2500 more for what I got from sam. I was able to negotiate and sam was able to meet my all my needs because he is the owner of the business, not just someone who works there! A great family run business with a huge selection. I will only be purchasing furniture from him in the future.

Worst experience of my life! I paid almost $ 1200 for a bedroom set, of course I had to wait for my order to come in which I have no problem with. I received a phone call from Sam when my set came in, unfortunately I was at work and wasn’t able to accept the delivery I asked him if it could be delivered the next day which was my day off he informed me that unfortunately they dont do deliveries over the weekend I said no problem can u deliver my bedroom set on Monday he said yes. Monday came around I was informed that my items were there but when i sent my mom to look at my set it wasn’t the nice set I purchased Sam lied and tried to give her a much cheaper set that I didn’t even order. I called Sam concerned about my order and wanted to make sure everything was ok all he did was yell at me as if the hole thing was my fault because I wasn’t available on Friday. He said one of his guys sold my set over the weekend, its my fault not his and now I have to wait again for my items. Honestly this man is very rude had me in tears I cant believe he would treat a pregnant woman this way. I paid for delivery and now Im having a difficult time getting my items that I purchased after several unanswered phone calls I am now working with the better business Bureau to receive my refund no one has helped me or returned my calls! If u value your hard earned money I recommend going somewhere else this man has conned me out of my money.

I drive by this location all the time and for Christmas I got a new bed with a frame sadly the frame my mom got me was cheap and didn’t last long so she sent it back to amazon and got her money back. I was looking for a affordable frame for this bed o have and I called sam. When I went in he was nice and he told me 100 dollars. I’m think wow awesome deal. Yeah I was told I could pick up the frame on a Monday I get there that monday and it’s not even ready. He didn’t even call me to tell me that I had to use my gas money and drive there to find this out. Yeah I should of called but him being the owner it shouldn’t be up to the customers I finally got the frame installed and its a piece of crap. My bed barely fits on the frame and I’m out 100 bucks. I am a single mom on a limited income and this is the thanks I get. Of course they don’t give refunds so today I will be contacting the BBB because he made the mistake of not charging me sales tax. Whatever you do don’t go here

I was looking at all this review and I had to go in and see for myself how this ”Sam” guy was… to my surprise he was very nice and helpful. I think people when they go to his store they think that they go to ikea— THIS is not IKEA people. This is a local family owned store and they do the best they can to keep up with the competition.

Sams Furniture does BAD business. Dupes you into contracts for 185% interest! Yes… I said 185%! But wait it gets ever better… when you realize the amount of money you thought you purchased your furniture for has exceeded the payments coming out of your bank account and start inquiring on what’s going on, Sam won’t answer any questions nor offer up any help. In fact he turns into a silent enemy.
So what do you do? Call Duvera, the company you THINK is financing your account, only to find it’s a third party called Kahuna Payment Solutions who you’ve contracted with and Duvera WON“T give you any contact info on these nazis either. BAD BAD BAD BUSINESS rating for all three companies. PLEASE STAY FAR FROM THESE COMPANIES Sams Furniture, Duvera Finacial and Kahuna Payment Solutions.
And if you’ve been done wrong contact your local Consumer Affairs Dept:
(800−952−5210) and Better Business Bureaus.
If nothing else… READ YOUR CONTRACT BEFORE YOU SIGN!!! Do not trust anyone to point out where to sign and initial with their «friendly» explaination of what the contract says becuz THEY WILL LIE TO YOU!!! Sam you and your mother are liars and do BAD BUSINESS!!!

A void!!! a void!!! a void!!! My mother and I when In looking for a sofa sleeper and a Ottoman. They looked at us crazy and was not willing to help us. And when we asked her if they had one the lady behind the front counter said «yeah and it’s $$$$“and we were just talking about if she had one not even asking her about a price. We want to the know color’s how it looks, if it’s leather or not and she was not willing to help us or even show us like we couldn’t afford anything in that cheap old store. Would go back and told all my family not to ether
No problem went to American furniture around the corner off of Watt and spent $ 1500 for a very high quality real leather memory foam mattress Sleeper Sofa.

Avoid this place like the plague. My autie was taken advantage of by their underhanded sales staff and management. She recently purchased a full bunk bed from them that cost well over $ 600.00. That’s already a problem, but things get worse from there. They delivered an «open box» assortment of parts to her home and when asked why everything didn’t come in a box, they excused it by saying it was easier to transport this way. When she began to assemble the bed, she soon discovered the real reason for the missing box. There were numerous deep scratches on the wood and even worse, a broken piece to the top bunk. The bed looked like it had been used then returned and resold as new. $ 600.00 for a used and damaged bed, what a f****in’ rip! With the broken piece the bed could not be fully assembled! My aunt complained to the salesman and manager of the used condition of the bed and the broken piece. They refused to replace the part, or offer an exchange or refund. They even called the cops on her in the store! So now $ 600+ later, my little cousin has no place to sleep. It’s a crying shame to think that Sam’s would outrightly abuse and scheme people around the holidays. It’s appalling that they would do so for a product that was obviously bought for a child! Times are hard as it is and no one expected we’d be swindled in this way by a storefront business. I wish I would have read the piss poor reviews and warned my aunt before she got taken by these jerks.

do not, i mean do not purchase anything from this location. the business is being run by the son and he is a total scammm. all of their products are low quality no name mattress. a budy and i spent about $ 560 on pure trash. i went back to get and extra wooden board because it was missing one. the son told me go to home depot with the measurements. mind you it was missing one. today i checked the bed and noticed ¾ of the boards were damaged. cheap wood for a cheap business

We had purchased furniture from this store years ago when we first moved to Sacramento and thought we would go back again because we were shopping for a bedroom set. We were greeted by the owners mother, Nizzi and she was very nice. We found a bedroom set we wanted along with a comfy sectional sofa (used but in good condition). We asked about their flex pay and was told a little about it but she said that her son Sam will explain it all to us. We elected to apply for their flex pay plan and was approved. Afterwards, we were reviewing the contract and it turns out we will be paying double the price of the furniture. I called Sam and told him I changed my mind about my purchase because I couldn’t see paying double the price of the item. He said there was no exchange/​refund and that was a store policy. That didn’t sit well with us especially because the furniture was not delivered on that day as Nizzi told us. We met up with Sam and after much discussion decided to keep the furniture and he said that he will throw in a coffee and end tables. The furniture was delivered but there was no coffee or end tables. In addition, the bedroom room set was not the right size for our King mattress. Mind you we gave Sam the dimensions of the bed so that we can avoid any problems. Well, the bed frame was not big enough for our mattress. We needed an Eastern King bed frame. We made numerous attempts to get in contact with Sam but couldn’t get a hold of him. Needless to say, we had guests coming from out of the country and wanted all the furniture ready for their arrival. That didn’t happen. The bed frame they delivered was sitting in a box in an extra room. Finally, after countless times call the furniture store, my husband spoke to Nizzi. She was no longer the friendly, attentive Sales Rep. My husband was told they will order the furniture.
All in all the experience was terrible and I will not ever purchase furniture from this store again. Read the fine print on their Flex Pay before you sign. You cannot cancel your order or cancel Flex Pay without the Store’s approval.
We also did not get the coffee table or end tables as promised.

I purchased a full size mattress and box spring from Sams. The delivery date was changed twice and No one bother to call and give me a heads up. I had to call to find out on my own. After the second failed delivery I wanted to return the bed set and there are no returns!!! I would never go back here! Customer service sucks!!!

A sacramento landmark open for 17 years! Although this is a pretty large store most of it is empty. I guess the recession has cut into the inventory being carried here. There was a decent selection of beds but not a whole lot of other items. Hopefully things will turn around here and they will be able to carry more stock.
