Awesome fritanga and very friendly service. The meat was well-seasoned. This place reminds me of my time spent in Granada, Nicaragua. They also serve El Salvadorean food here. Diacachimba

This food is really good the portions are even better. There are not to many nicaraguan restaurants in the area or at least i don’t know about them. The prices on any nicaraguan restaurants are over price in my opinion, but it is worth it most if the times. This particular restaurant is popular, but the one in LA it seem to have more popularity. This restaurant did not earn 5 stars due to the poor costumer service, i don’t think the owner reads these reviews or doesn’t give a crap about Unilocal reviews. I tried calling a order today so i wouldn’t have to deal with the staff. They pick up the phone and left it of the hook do they wouldn’t be bother. Lol… I cant get away from the horrible costumer service! I really like your food but there is so much i can take.

First off, you have to come with a big big big appetite because the portions are huge! Great authentic food, the women who work there are aaaaalways there and recognize you if you’ve been there a few times which is always nice :)

We are always on the hunt to find great, authentic Nicaraguan food. Most of the places we have found vary greatly; one time it’ll be good and the next it won’t be. This place, however, has yet to disappoint us after a few visits! The carne asada is tender, gallo pinto is perfect, plantains are great — everything we have had is on point! We have not experienced customer service issues like some have said. The waitress we had tonight was different from our last visit. Both ladies were nice, but the one tonight was very bubbly, funny, and chatty. Parking can be tricky, but we always manage to find a spot right in front. Either way, don’t let the parking stop you! Good Nicaraguan food is really hard to find in SoCal, but this place knows what they’re doing!

Honestly all of you talking about the bad customer service, how unlucky of you. Both of the ladies that helped me were very sweet and helpful. The younger one even walked around the counter to hand me my take-out. Food tastes great! I’m Nicaraguan myself and I found this place to have significantly authentic tasting food. Lastly I give it a 4 because of lack of parking and it could get a little inconvenient. Cheers.

To be honest, the food was not good at all. The service was terrible. If you want good Nicaraguan food, there are plenty of better places.

Brought my mom here because she wanted to try it. They don’t have any Nicaraguan restaurants in Vegas. Good service. The plate was not the usual large portion so she was disappointed since the food is pretty pricey and the meat tasted like it was old. The amount of meat they put in the plate should have been a side dish and everything else should have been the main course. Smallest amount of carne asada I’ve ever seen a restaurant give.

Few tips… seriously they don’t know the meaning of customer service. The waitress needs training ASAP! Never came back to check on us, was more into cleaning than giving a good service. The price was not the one listed on the menu, and did not mentioned it beforehand. They claimed there’s a sign on the wall that it is too small to BE noticed. Quite frankly the service EXTREMELYMEDIOCRE. I DON’T BLAMETHEWAITRESS. I blame the one in charge of training her.

It’s ok if you like authentic Central American food, definitely not The greatest Service. Ver y small place, Chairs Are always touching each other and almost pushing people behind you. Cooks k ow how to cook but don’t know what they are doing a, very inconsistent with flavor, cuts, serving correct portions. It’s very authentic.

The food was amazing. However, the place was not very clean and the waitress was to busy talking on her cellphone to get us our bill.

Nacatamales were great. cacao drink was a disappointment to say the least compared to other Nica restaurants in LA. Tajadas on point. Place is loud and a hole in the wall but the food is authentic and the service quick. El Gallo Pinto in Azusa is still better but for El Comandante being in the Valley it’s a gem. Well worth the experience.

If you’re coming to this place be prepared for a cultural and humble eating environment. It is THE best Nicaraguan restaurant everrrr. They have a sister store in Los Angeles. Large portions, out of this world delicious. Their cacao is just perfect(ground cocoa and milk drink). I am a faithful customer.

*** Rating is not based on food *** Bought a $ 10 gift cert to try this place out — the cert says min purchase of $ 15, but the owner who doesn’t speak English kept saying the min is $ 100 to honor the $ 10 gift cert. Showed her the cert printout that clearly say it’s $ 15 min and yet she still refused to honor it. She even asked another customer to translate that she will not honor the cert unless we spend $ 100 — there was only the two of us, there was no way we’d spend $ 100 for dinner… Would have love to try the food but attitude as such is a turn off — not even an attempt to resolve the situation, no customer service skills at all.

I would love to see this place thrive in the valley. I have been a client for many years from Los Angeles La 27. I live nearby but don’t always feel like coming, there is a cleanliness issue that I can’t get over. I was just there and there’s a lack of cleanliness on the floor.

So this place opened up about a year ago now and I finally got the chance to try it out a few months ago. I wish I had come sooner this place is so good. My Family and I can’t stop coming here. The food is fresh and it tastes really good. Its nice to find a place where they serve food from your home country and you don’t have to travel all the way to Nicaragua to get it. You gotta try the Cacao drink, thats my favorite. The Caldo de Res is very good. The yucca con Chicharon y la ensalada de repollo is good too. Nacatamales are good too but they don’t have that much meat in them. I usually don’t get carne asada because the meat is a little hard but if thats what you like more power to ya. The tajadas fritas o duras con queso frito are delicious. The salpicon con arros is awesome too. I’m telling you, you have to try this place for yourself! The ambience is pretty chill. They have friendly staff and even though the place is somewhat small the food really makes up for it :)
