Cash only, por que? $ 12 + change for a Taco Combo Plate. Three street size tacos, some beans, and Spanish rice. It was just o. k but a little too pricy for me. I guess I am somewhat disappointed.

ok for a late night burrito but parking could be a pain in the ass with the bar next door and all the apartments next to it. red sauce salsa isn’t bad but like the restaurant as a whole, it’s nothing to rave about. the super fries were ok(nothing even close to that of cilantro’s only 3 exits away) and the shrimp burrito did lack flavor imo. typical mexican americanish taste and quality. I guess im spoiled living in the valley but I doubt I’d ever come back unless it was the only option.

We were so excited to find this place a few weeks back, but it’s gone down hill ever since and we won’t be returning. We were super hungry one night, late at night(almost midnight), drove by and stopped in for a to go order. The Tacos are super small for the price, but good. Service was friendly. The Fries… the fries were SO good. A few days later we were craving the fries & went back. For the same price, they only filled the to go container with fries ½ way but we didn’t realize it until we got back home, so they were good but it was disappointing. We go in 2 days ago(yes, when we find a place we like… we eat there frequently) & let them know about the lack of fries and ask them when they’re making the order just to make sure it’s a full order. The girl at the counter said no problem. About 5 min. later they call us over and tell us they have already shut down the fryer for the night and can’t make the fries at all!!! But keep in mind the place is still open so we get the tacos which again, are good — but crazy small for the cost. So the girl refunds our money for the fries and tells us the next time we come back to tell them to do VIP fries. Today we are eating close by & decide to get the fries and bring them to eat with the other food we are ordering at another local outdoor spot. We explain what has happened and that the last girl(2 days ago) said to do VIP fries, but we simply want a full order of french fries. It’s really terrible just how bad their service is, but we get the box & it’s half full and not only half full, but we start eating them and the fries are still raw and uncooked this time!!! We went back with the uneaten fries and they just simply said that’s how the cooks make them. We were trying to recapture these yummy fries we got the first time we ever visited this place and gave them many chances to keep us as customers but the more we think about it the more we think that the first time(when the fries actually came out good & they gave us a full order) … maybe that was the mistake instead of their standard because they haven’t been able to duplicate it. Sorry to say, we’re within walking distance of this place but we won’t be giving them any more of our business. Tacos are small and overpriced and they aren’t even consistent when it comes to an order of fries.

Love love love the food but horrible service and very rude people working at this joint… They could definitely smile a little bit more…

Solid food when you’re too afraid to drive into Van Nuys. If you go here expect long lines and slightly pricey food that wasn’t quite as good as you’ve had that time you were in the hood. But at least you don’t have to listen to music blaring in your ears. And there are no apparent crack heads running around. And there is almost literally no parking. People must hike in. Oh and it’s outdoor seating only which accommodates about half of the people who need to use it. Basically it’s a bad location for an overly popular place but I’m sure it’s a gold mine

The only thing better than this taco stand is the one opening soon 100 steps from my door! Cactus Taqueria #4 on Woodman and Moorpark! Can’t wait!

Cash only? WAH!, Parking is tough? Boo Frickity hoo. This place rules. I love the fact that there have bottled pop and their steak burritos are freaking amazing. You need to try this place. Just leaving this review I have decided I need a steak egg & cheese breakfast burrito. Carry on.

Best breakfast burrito of all time. My death row last meal will contain this burrito, if it ever comes to that. For example, if someone touches my burrito — back off! Bacon,(or chorizo, or ham) egg, potato, beans, rice, hot salsa, cilantro and onion wrapped up in a huge tortilla — almost big enough for 2, or one greedy burrito hoarder like me. Their freshly squeezed orange juice, flavorful guacamole and the nachos are some other favorites. I keep hearing the fish tacos are great, but I can’t get away from the breakfast burrito! Perhaps I haven’t said burrito enough — burrito, burrito, burrito! Secret — call ahead for pickup to avoid the super long lines on the weekends. Bring cash, it’s cash only and the ATM is sometimes out of order. I want to give it 5 stars but I mean, it’s basically a taco stand so I reserve 5 star reviews for serious sit down eateries and the like. 4 stars ++++

I love this place! Super quick service and good food. It’s cash only so make sure to have cash on you or your ATM card. They are also Vegan friendly which I could care less about but for you Vegans out there I have heard rave reviews from my vegan amigos. I typically don’t do burritos, but the ones here hit the spot and don’t leave me with a 12 lbs burrito baby… just a small lil 3 lb one instead lol

I ordered two chicken soft tacos and rice. The meat was teeny tiny chunks of dark meat with fat on it. Never going here again.

I cannot believe the neighbourhood would patronise this joint. Food is very average, service is terrible and they are rude on top of that. Oh, can or bottle drinks only. Henry’s Tacos is a few steps south’. Better food and a smile. Don’t be fooled by this trendy Cactus joint. More thorns than fruit.

Wow, the burritos got way smaller… I used to love this place when it opened. 2 days ago I went to treat myself with a carne asada burrito and it was at least 30% smaller than usual. It just looks sad… Other than that, cash only, impossible to park on the parking lot. The service is great.

Fresh and delicious. Thank god Cactus bumped Henry’s Taco’s out of this prime location! Consistently a good choice. A California burrito and horchata is my quintessential order. Their tacos a la carte make for a perfect lighter meal. Cactus also has a variety of different traditional Mexican meats as well if that tickles your fancy. Plus, whole wheat tortillas and vegetarian options! Lots of outdoor seating for eating-in as well.

This is the first Cactus I have ever been to in Los Angeles. Upon moving out here last summer my boyfriend and I came across this little jewel. The food is good. I really like the Chile Relleno Burrito and the California Burrito. Very flavorful, and when you mix BOTH the green and red salsa on the burrito you have a flavor party in your mouth. I have had the fish and the shrimp tacos. Those were not my favorite. They don’t de-vein the shrimp, and the fish is always super soggy and watery. HOWEVER… If you haven’t tried the CAFE(Coffee) then you’re missing out. I crave that stuff on a regular basis, and it always reminds me of the best summer of my life. I NEEDSOMENOW! BTW It is cash only which is a bit of a hassel, but I have Citibank and there is a 7 – 11 across the street so I don’t have to pay the ATM fee.

This place is great! Best Mexican Food I have ever had, and I love trying out new Mexican restaurants. Carne Asada tacos are great. The super fries are great. Their horchatas are homemade and fresh. I didn’t like horchatas until I tried them from cactus.

I really really loved this place and would come weekly. I would call in my order and they were so amazing they’d know my name and have it ready when I got there. It’s gradually been getting worse though. More often than not they get my order wrong now. Today I ordered a burrito with extra cheese and sour cream. There was barely any in the entire burrito. I ordered the super fries. It came only half of the container bottom filled with fries. They were burned and soggy from too much grease. A small amount of cheese and little to no sour cream or guacamole. They saw it and said they would make a new order. After 25 minutes we asked if they were ready and they completely forgot to make them. I wish I could contact the owner because this was my favorite place to get mexican food for the last three years. It seems though the more locations they open, the worse the quality of their food and service gets.

I’m a little confused about the negative reviews here. I guess you can only judge by your own experience, so here is mine… Before I realized this location existed, I used to take the late night drive to the other location. This one is much closer though and now I visit all the time and I’ve never had a bad experience with the food or any issue with the service. Granted, the tacos and some if the food is a little different than hardcore traditional Mexican food since they add cheese, avocado, and french fries to burritos — But it is damn good. The only thing I would liked change is it is Cash only and the prices are a bit steep and can add up quickly forcing your to pay an additional fee to take $ out of the ATM.

Have you ever eaten a piece of cactus? One time, when I was a kid, a friend of mine accidentally took a bite of a piece of cactus and he was crying because he had thorns on his tongue. It wasn’t a good experience — kind of scary. Well, I had an almost identical experience eating at Cactus Taqueria. Scary. But I will give them this — my can of Diet Coke was outstanding! The group that I went with ordered about 8 different types of tacos. Here’s the rundown: 1. Chips — I almost sent them back because they were stale. 2. Salsa — One green, one red. Both watery. Not very flavorful. Not very spicy either. 3. Chicharone — All fatty. Chunky fat. 4. Carnitas — Dry & bland 5. Birria — Just okay, yet greasy. 6. Fish — One of the worst things ever tasted. It was microwaved. Our number was called about a minute after ordering it. 7. Chicken — Boiled. Crumbly. 8. Carne Asada — Not very tasty. 9. Shrimp — Battered & deep fried. The only thing I tasted was the grease & sour cream. I want to be fair, thus I was going to give Cactus 2 stars, because it was honestly bad. But at the end of our experience one of our friends had a flea in her taco. Bad food + microwave + flea = 1 star But the name definitely fits.
