I love this place. I’ve always been a fan of classic Chinatown food. The large family meals, family own business vibe, and comfy casual atmosphere. Its not fancy what so ever, but the perfect place to just eat good Chinese food and talk with friends. The food is a delight and very affordable! No judgement will be made here! I recommend the Family Dinner Meals or the Lunch Combos. The chicken wonton soup is my favorite!

I’ve been coming here for years now and the food is always great! They have great deals and lunch specials, I recommend this place 100℅! Best Chinese food that I’ve had that is cooked after you order and hasn’t been sitting under lights all day. Fresh every time.

Amazing service and food. This place is the only chinese restaurant that compares to chinese food back east. The honey walnut chicken is amazing, the lemon chicken is amazing, pretty much everything they have is great. Worth the hour drive from ventura.

The restaurant was very clean and tidy, service was quick. The food came in relatively fast. You should try the sizzling seafood. The special chow mien was tasty. I would come back any day.

I enjoy their food. It’s always quickly prepared, largely portioned and season well. I definitely recommend.

The place is decent but it is not even close to the best. Their food is delicious. The orange chicken and kung pao are definitely worth a try. The only problem is their interior. Seems like they didn’t touch the place ever since they opened it. This isn’t a museum, re-decorate it. Don’t even get me started on the utensils…

I can’t say this was my favorite place but it wasn’t bad for the price. The only thing is their chicken wasn’t cooked too well and I did have sort of a stomach ache after leaving but I might just been thinking about it too much. Overall it’s okay for the price and location.

We had the Specisl Wor Wonton Soup. It was average in taste, nothing to rave about. We ordered Squid with vegetables & Three item Sweet & Sour(Chicken, Pork, Shrimp). We sent both items back. The Squid was rubbery, and could not be chewed. The Sweet & Sour was dry and very, very tough. The Chicken & Pork were tempura fried. I think they par cooked to extra crispy(well done). They then added breaded shrimp(Not Battered Shrimp). All breaded and battered items were over cooked. Not coming back to this restaurant.

I would give no stars if I could. While eating with friend we found a roach in our food. The owner was clearing the table An saw it and covered it with her hand. I will never eat there again.

I came here because I’ve past by this place for decades and never gave it a shot. In hopes to eat dinner with my family. The place is clean as you walk in through the back. When we entered no one was dining. We were the only ones there. It seemed like a ghost town that rarely gets any customers. A woman quickly sat us down and took order. We got orange chicken, fried rice and chow mein(the usual) few minutes later the food was there. The food was ok. I didn’t really enjoy the chow mein. But it wasn’t bad either. Not sure if i would go back. But the service and food was decent.

Eh. This place is a solid 2 stars. Three stars is generous. I came in for pick up and ordered orange chicken, rice with an eggroll and wonton soul. The food took about 10 – 15 mins to be done. The combo was $ 11.85 and my order came out in a shallow cardboard box. In waiting for my order, I saw that their health rating is a B so I posted that picture up there too. Their menus were dirty and made of a thick paper stained with food and drink. It took a while to be acknowledged but that interaction was the longest I had with anyone there. It was kind of a ghost town. It had old décor and looked dated. I was hoping the food would be a redeeming factor but it truly wasn’t anything to be thrilled about. The eggroll was tasteless and the wonton soup needed hot sauce and soy sauce to be edible. The orange chicken was sweet and not at all spicy. It had been battered but it wasn’t crispy or cut to correct size. They must use an amino soy sauce because I poured some on my steamed rice and it was the saltiest thing ever! The portions were ok but disproportionate. I would’ve gladly taken a little more rice over the(eh) chicken which was abundant. I probably wouldn’t return as they are as bland as the décor and leave no impression like the staff.

This place has been a spot for my family and friends since I could remember. At this point, it feels like home. It is a fairly small place and the interior design is not all that. The staff are not sociable or gleeful, like you’d find at Friday’s or BJ’s. Despite it’s setbacks, which honestly shouldn’t matter(we go to hole-in-the-wall places like this to eat great food not for the atmosphere), Golden Palace has extraordinary food. It’s one of those places you can close your eyes, point at a random item, and it would probably be fantastic. If you get there between 11:30 — 3:00 you can get their Lunch Special, which comes with an entrée, fried or steam rice, choice of soup, egg drop or hot/sour, and fried wontons and an egg roll on the side. Basically you can get an entire meal for the price of a Subway footlong, and if you want to splurge on some spectacular Orange Chicken or any other specialty items, the most you’ll pay is $ 5.50. If you’re not feeling lunch, Golden Palace is still very affordable and, for the quality of the food, is highway robbery for dinner. Also, you get FREE steamed rice with your entrée – I mean free, and as much as you want. Very few places boast free rice. I frequent Chinese food places quite often with my buddies and family from LA’s China Town to SF’s, and Golden Palace has the best Orange Chicken, Mongolian Beef, Beef Noodle Soup, Chow Mein, and Wonton Soup I’ve had, and that you’ll have. The true stars of Golden Palace are Singapore Rice Noodle and Orange Shrimp. These things will change your life. You’ll wake up craving them in the middle of the night. They are THAT good! Golden Palace is the hidden gem of North Hollywood. People are sleeping on them and it’s a shame to see the restaurant empty. Go and try this place and spread the word, you will not regret it one bit!

We ordered take-out last night. First and last time trying this place. We found a bug in the Vegetable Noodle Soup. I was actually willing to give them the benefit of the doubt — maybe it was hiding in a leaf. It happens. But then we found a second bug. That’s just dirty. Further dirty: the shrimp in the Salt & Pepper Shrimp weren’t peeled nor deveined before being battered and fried. Gross.

THEBESTCHINESEFOODIN L. A!!! I have ate at over 70+ Chinese food in LA, SD and the OC searching for the east coast flavor Chinese food that I love but none of the places I ate at don’t come even close to this place! I would eat here every day if I could! I at least eat here 4 – 5 times a week! I love there lunch special $ 4.95 for 1 entrée and fried rice(the best) and egg roll and egg drop soup, this is the closest thing to NYC Chinese food I’ve came to in Cali! There rice is super good which is actually fried and not steamed rice with soy sauce like every place in LA, it’s not greasy at ALL! Which makes there food light and fresh tasting! My faves are the bell pepper beef and the beef with broccoli! Love them there the best! There a mom and pop and daughter run place and I love them! you even see there little daughter here eatting there food, it’s a sweets ite to see, plus they have a big flat screen and offten play sports. It’s the Best food for you money! they could charge way more if they wanted too!(But its a good thing they don’t or I would be going broke and couldn’t eat here as much lol) I will say it one more time if you haven’t got it by now! I love the food here. The best Mongolian Beef I’ve ever had. The special Won Ton soup is great too. The only downside is the waitress(who is related to the owners) is not too friendly. She looks like the sniper girl from Full Metal Jacket. The rest of the staff is really nice, though.

Even though the inside needs a little work… The food is hand down great. I’ve had several different locations that cook after order but does not compare. The service is good, except they always have the tv in Chinese :/lol Defenetly need to try this place out!

I like this place. It reminds me of the typical neighborhood mom & pop I’d find growing up in South Florida. I also had the egg foo young. I ordered the veggie and it was surprisingly very light and not super greasy. The gravy was also fairly light and tasty. Plus it was a huge portion for the price. The service was a bit slow, but I wasn’t in a rush so I didn’t mind. Since it was taking so long for my order they brought me some egg flower(aka egg drop) soup. The soup was a bit on the salty side but still tasty. I probably wouldn’t go out of my way to go to this place, but I’ll definitely keep it on my list of favorite neighborhood joints.

Im a BIGEGGFOOYOUNGLOVER… but for some reason the Socal Chinese spots make it different than in the midwest where I grew up. Its kind of a shame actually. This place actually isn’t bad. The food is good, price is decent, and is clean on the inside. The Egg Foo Young wasn’t like I know it to be from back home but was still pretty good. I will def go back and get other items from their menu. p. s. there is parking in the backlot and can be easily passed up. Across from El pollo loco behind the 76 gas station.
