Ink Sessions Tattoo

Received my first tattoo here, very chill environment. Definitely have came back for two other tattoos.

Awesome tattoo parlor. Been coming here for almost 3 months and have had 4 of my tattoos done here. Whatever it is that I envision Sal always nails it. Chris, the owner, is also great and very friendly. Sal and Jose both have done my tattoos and it is always nice walking in there. All 3 are great people and make anyone feel comfortable and interact with you. Their work is great and should be checked out for anyone wanting any ink done

Best tattoo shop ! Every ones very friendly they talk to you about your ideas on tattoos help sketch more details and make sure you really want the tattoo before getting one.
while you’re getting tattooed they keep asking if you’re okay how’s the pain, or if you need some water, I definitely recommend this shop if you’re trying to go get an inquiry or want to see a sketch of their ideas, they’re so creative and try to picture what you’re pitching .
Make sure to ask for Jose he’s my go to tattoo artist he does amazing work .

I called the shop the get a piercing. They said the piercer would be in later today and to call 30 mins before I arrived. I gave them 1 hour notice and they said he would be there. When I arrived. I wasn’t aknowledge for a while. When I was finally talked to they said the guy would be back in an hour. So I left my info and asked to be called back. That call never happened and I’m very disappointed in their service.

This shop is horrible! I came here trying to get a tattoo and wasn’t even acknowledged. The blonde girl behind the counter is very unprofessional and unorganized. I don’t recommend this shop to anyone.

Went here planning to get a Friday the 13^th tat thinking it would be fast since their small tattoo’s. Boy was I wrong! The girl at the counter was clueless and very unorganized! Ppl were calling in to be on the list ummmm!!! Isn’t it first come first serve for these types of specials? Guess not ppl that just got there were taken! When I had been waiting over 2hrs! I was talking to other ppl that had been waiting for 4 hours!!! Come on INK SESSIONS voted best in LA! Ha what a joke! It seems like the tattoo artist had they’re regulars and favorites because ppl that didn’t even check in walked in like nothing! The service was horrible! Needless to say I will never ever return to that place! Nor will I ever recommend anyone to go there! I don’t even want to give this place one star! I had to leave that place before I gave them a piece of my mind!

Worst experience of my life !!!
Came here for a septum piercing and left with a sore bloody nose, the guy who pierced me that never cared to even introduced himself could not follow through with the nose ring. I received nothing but pain and poor customer service it’s all.

Just got my tattoo done by Sal today– and it was great! He was super friendly, knowledgable and talented. I had an initial design for my elephant tattoo and he helped make it more unique and suitable for my taste and placement. The shop is very clean & everyone is friendly. Definitely going back for my next tattoo!

I had called another shop in Van Nuys and was met by a rude unprofessional young man that I decided to look elsewhere. Lo and behold I saw the add for Ink Sessions and called. What a professional shop… Chris answered the phone and my questions, quickly made an appointment for me with Jose.
When I arrived at the shop I was impressed by the décor and cleanliness. The employees all greeted me upon entering and chit chatted while Jose set up. I got two small tattoos that look adorable for a very reasonable price.
I will definitely make this my new favorite tattoo shop. Thanks guys and D!!!

My artist was Eric it was fast and painless he did a clean job and will come back for more. They have a really good minimum it starts at 40 which usually is 100 in this area.

this place is dope! the owner is super welcoming and friendly, i had a great time getting my finger tattoo done. lines were super clean and the tattoo artist accomodated my difficult personality because i tend to be indecisive so I want to try a whole bunch of sizes of the tattoo on me before i ink it on. ive had 6 so far and this was the best experience Id say, and I killed two birds in one task and got my ears repierced. will be back with no hesitation if i need any future work! :)

This is a second five star review, because this place is just that awesome. My husband, sister, and myself popped in for tattoos recently. They take walk ins! :)
Erick did my sister and my tattoos and Chris did my husband’s. Both of their work is so clean and crisp. The guys make you feel so relaxed, their supplies and the environment is so so clean (which is SO important for a germaphobe like me) and the pricing can not be beat.

One star because having someone mess up a tattoo due to carelessness is not okay. Got a (supposed to be) tiny tattoo on my finger a year ago. Turned out great, guy said free touch ups. Come back a year later for my touch up, turns out that guy didn’t even work there and that they don’t do free touch ups on fingers. So I decided to pay 40 for them to touch it up. Showed the artist a picture of what it was before. Clean thin lines. He goes super deep. I now have a bulky word on my finger with ink spreading all around the letters. So it looks like a big mess. Never again. I’m investing in tattoo removal now. Don’t go here if it’s your first tattoo. Not a professional environment. Very judgemental about what I wanted. Made me feel stupid. And now I’m stuck with a sloppy tattoo.

Came to get my nose re pierced in the same spot after it closed on me last year. I come in the piercer isn’t even in store. So the guy at the counter asks if I could wait 15 minutes the guy is on his way, I say sure why not the place looks really clean and inviting. 40minutes pass the guy is still not here. (PLUS there’s a guy waiting to get a tattoo by him at 2:30pm and it was 2:50. (more pressure on the piercer to come and pierce me) I end up telling the guys im just gonna come back. The guy insists I wait 3 more minutes that the piercer is on the main street. Didn’t want to be rude and he put me on the spot so I say ok. Ill give him like 5 minutes to park. Another 10 minutes pass and im annoyed the guy finally comes in. I have to wait till he settles in the store and talks to his friends about the movies. Didn’t mind that, rather have him unwind and not rush piercing me cause I don’t want it to hurt or worse. Im finally getting my piercing done & this guy pushes the needle through my nose Soooo SLOW. I IMMEDIATELY started bleeding. (my first time getting my nose pierced I did not bleed till I got home and it was very little coming out from where the ring was) the entire day my nose was in pain. I could not flare my nostrils with out it burning. Even after cleaning it :(my low rating is simply because the guy (Chris) lied to me about the wait. I get my piercings done at the swap meet and im in and out in 10 minutes. I just happened to come here cause the indoor swap meet is closed on Tuesday’s. Maybe my experience was bad cause he was rushing. But oh well I suggest you call and make sure they are there.

Loved the service we received from here. Marco was everything you could ever ask for in a tattoo artist. He was a great dude unfortunately just found he no longer works there, what a shame. Good dude and good business, not sure however if I will coming back here without marcos but may consider it depending on who is doing tattoos.

Went in to get my nose pierced about 2 weeks ago and I was a nervous wreck. My tolerance for pain is pretty low and all I could think about was how much it was going to hurt lol. Went in and Chris was very understanding, patient and super nice from the second I walked in the door. He was knowledgable giving a clear idea of how the process was gonna go, how to keep it clean, healing process etc… and even gave me an idea of how it would look.
Soooo, the piercing didn’t hurt at all lol, and I’m not exaggerating when I say that. I didn’t even know that the needle had been pushed through. 2 weeks later, I even forget it’s there sometimes lol. It’s super cute and I love it. Chris is nothing short of amazing :)

I take tattoos very seriously. My tattoos are pure art and each tell a symbolic story. This sounds cheesy but it is my reality. Plus, I’ve been featured in magazines such as Inked… so my tattoos have to look good! For my 30^th birthday, I planned to get a new tattoo to kick off my ‘Dirty Thirty’ festivities. I needed a new tattoo artist/​shop which included research and the use of Unilocal.That is the path which led me to Ink Sessions…
I live about a mile from Ink Sessions and have driven past the shop what feels like thousands of times. I have always seen the sign on the façade that screamed: «Voted the best tattoo shop in LA!» or something along that nature. My boyfriend and I always laughed at the audacity to make such a claim. Well, I take it back. Having visited a few other shops to talk to artists and get quotes (my tattoo was already drawn out by my boyfriend so I didn’t need an artist to do that legwork); Ink Sessions was my last visit. Saving the best for last.
I walked into a clean shop and immediately spoke to Marco. Unknowingly, Marco was the artist who created the tattoos I have already pinpointed being in love with here on Unilocal and in their Facebook photos. Marco had an instant amazing energy. He was zen and professional but also friendly and clearly knew his craft. He was honest about his skill level (my tattoos are all black and grey with shading which not every artist is that great at). I was in love in him. I KNEW this was the guy. Best of all? His price quote was terrific! I insisted on putting a deposit down to make an appointment 3 weeks ahead of time which Marco said isn’t necessary but I NEEDED to make sure I would have a time slot on the Friday night before my birthday. I had to finalize though before I put down the deposit.
I returned a few days later with my deposit (Note: Ink Sessions is CASH ONLY!) and Marco was all smiles and genuinely seemed happy to see me. I was definitely feeling good about my decision to patron Ink Sessions.
So how did my tattoo go? I entered the shop a little before my appointed time as Marco had to take my drawing and scan it, reduce it, etc. I was getting a little apprehensive because he was taking quite a long time to set-​up even though he didn’t have to actually sketch a drawing. Plus, the major issue at Ink Sessions is that there is no front desk person. So when clients come in (they had a TON of walk-​ins that night); these walk-​in clients demand attention and Marco had to stop what he was doing to attend to them. It was a little annoying and disconcerting because I had an appointment and yet I was the one waiting versus these people who walked in! Not cool. Perhaps Ink Sessions should hire someone to man the counter (I’ll do it!).
My appointment was at 5pm but Marco didn’t begin until after 6. Despite these initial worries, the tattoo went great. Marco’ s amazing energy prevailed. We had an amazing conversation throughout the tattoo, there was very little pain (although I don’t think tattoos hurt anyway), and I was genuinely laughing the whole time. It was like hanging out with a friend! Plus, Marco is amazing and asks you if there is anything you are unhappy with and need fixed and/​or changed! I have never had an artist ask me that and I was very pleased. Long story short, my tattoo is beyond wonderful and exactly what I envisioned!
To sum it up, Ink Sessions is near– perfect. The shop is super clean (one of the cleanest I have seen in LA) with even a scented oil plug-​in near the front counter! Their professionalism is markedly great and Marco is a genius. Not only is he a gifted artist but a humble and all-​around great guy. I definitely found my shop and tattoo artist for all of my upcoming tattoos! So, a little cocky or not, the sign claiming Ink Sessions to be the best shop in LA is not that far off…

These guys are simply amazing! Very friendly and knowledgeable. The shop is very open and clean, full of color and creativity! I was honored to have Chris pierce my nipples after having a very horrible experience at 5150 Tattoo. The process was nearly pain free after I got over my anxiety! Chris was also available while outside of the office to answer any questions I had about my new piercing.
If I’m ever craving more metal. Chris is my guy!

Came in to this shop off of friends reviews… after going to a few shops and pricing around I chose this place… and im glad i did!
Marco is a beast at what he does and was EXTREMELY helpful and nice… I ended getting 2 tats here for $ 150…going back for another soon… I EVEN HAD MY MOM COME HERE on her visit and get tatted by Marco lol
Shop was clean. staff is friendly and plenty of street parking usually… yep. ill be back definitely.
