History

Established in 2013.

Founded by Kat Kass, this new and improved parlor layout consists of private studios, as opposed to the impersonal floor plans in a typical salon environment. Kat collaborated with her brother, Daniel Kass (DK Construction), to specifically model LA Mistinguette after the transition of Art Nouveau into Art Deco design. She wanted the décor to harness a vintage feel, which she superbly achieved by way of the hand-​selected vanities in each room, as well as the Art Deco hardware on each door. Ultimately, Kat visualized a new salon concept, gave it an additional twist, and brought it to North Hollywood!

LA Mistinguette’s namesake, Jeanne Florentine Bourgeois, aka «Mistinguett» (Miss-​Stang-​Get) was a French actress/​singer who had her debut at the Casino de Paris in 1885 where she captured the minds of Parisians and became the most popular and highest-​paid female entertainer in the world. So famous, that her legs were insured for Fr. 500,000. I guess you could say she was kind of a big deal

Business Owner

Kat Kass has been living in Las Vegas for the last seven years where she has become recognized for Hair Design and Makeup artistry. With approximately 10 years in the beauty industry, 6 of those years specializing in hair, makeup, and eyebrows, Kat has developed an intimate knowledge of her field. When Kat first achieved her esthetics license, she began work at SkinBar and instantly became known as a waxing/​threading specialist. She then added a hairstyle license to her repertoire and became recognized for period and fashion forward styling. She eventually joined forces with Stitch Factory, a co-​working space for clothing designers to work on their collections, as a hair and makeup designer for fashion shows. Kat’s love of art and drawing as a child transitioned to her passion for shaping and enhancing the beauty in any one person. She considers herself to be an artist and looks at the details of the face as her canvas.
