The Met Pit Stop is everything you could ever ask for to do with the Metropolitan Nash cars. Parts, service and possibly the most unique Met museum of cars. One of a kinds. It is a great place to go and see anything Metropolitan Nash.

The Nash Metropolitan was a small car built and sold by Nash (later American Motors) from the mid 50s into the early 60s. If you happen to be one of those people who owns one of these cars, chances are you need parts for it… and the Metropolitan Pit Stop is the place to go. They have a very large parts inventory dedicated to the Metropolitan. They also have a shop with the ability to perform repairs as well as do complete restorations. They also have a small museum too!
My car club arranged for a private tour of entire «Pit Stop» facility today (specifically the museum) and I went to check it out!
As museums go, this one is not very large. But then the «Metro» not a large car and they do have some very unique and significant cars in the collection! Mark did an AWESOME job telling us the history of each item in the collection, as well as how Jimmy Valentine started the business and was in the «right place at the right time» to acquired each vehicle. Jimmy’s daughter June now runs the «Pit Stop» with the same passion for «the Met» as her father had.
The collection includes this very cool, one of a kind 1956 Metropolitan station wagon prototype.
As well as this 1957 Metropolitan «fire truck» which carried children around at an amusement park in New York State.
This rare right hand drive convertible which was first sold and driven in England.
But the real show stopper is this very cool 1955 «Metropolitan Astra-​Gnome» which was displayed at the 1956 New York international auto show as a car of the future! It was also on the cover of the September 3, 1956 issue of Newsweek magazine! It’s built on a Metropolitan chassis with a wooden frame built over it to support the Alcoa aluminum body.
OVERALL: If you want to see a little bit of automotive history, or know somebody who has a Metropolitan that needs parts, Metropolitan Pit Stop is the place to go!

This business was started by Jimmy Valentine decades ago and specializes in parts and service for the famous Metropolitan Nash Automobile .
Jimmy’s motto was «the best parts that fit right «~ a hard thing to do for 50+ year old Bitish car but his daughter and Mark who still run the place, work hard to keep you happy by stocking everything you’ll need to restore or just keep runing, your beloved Metropolitan Nash .
I shop there regularly as I drive a Met daily and also repair them .
