Coming from the east coast it was hard to find a barber that can cut with my hair. Geo is a master with the clippers, and very affordable unlike the other over priced barber shops in LA

I live in the arts district and have been thoroughly disappointed by a few of the $ 35-​$ 50 haircut joints around here. After a bad experience yesterday at a salon on the west side of Lankershim near Vicious Dogs north of Magnolia, I found myself walking past Mr. Z’s today. Previously, I had written the place off based on the less than appealing exterior but after the fancy place pissed me off I figured why not. There were 2 barbers working and both were showing excellent attention to detail with their clients.
I waited for about 10 – 15 minutes in the old, yet well-​appointed, classical barber shop. Maria finished first and asked me to her chair. Again, her attention to detail was wonderful. My hair is very straight and the slightest imprecision shows badly. Maria did a wonderful job!
It is obvious the staff at Mr. Z’s actually gives a damn based on their attention to detail in their work and workspace. The price can’t be beat and I will be going back!

Walked into Mr. Z’s today and was helped right away. Got a great cut for $ 15. The shop is clean and the barbers are skilled.
