North Hollywood Dental Group

I don’t get the good reviews for this place. That’s why I went here to have an old filling replace in the first place, because of the raving reviews.
I scheduled an appointment here to have the filling checked out. My periodontist I go to twice a year for cleanings, thought I should go to a general dentist to have this old filling looked at.
That’s when I found this dentist office with great reviews.
Once I got to the shabby office, parking was a pain, I ran into a medical assistant coming out caring a few bags of trash. The doctor was behind the receptionist area, gave me paperwork to fill out, the tv. was blaring, I had to ask to turn it down so that I can fill out the papers. The place could be cleaner. You can hear everything while you’re on the dentist chair– what’s going on around.
Once I got inside, they did some X-​Rays, kinda fast and superficially and the doctor brought out the results. Apparently, I had cavities inside most of my teeth.
I get my teeth cleaned in a nice, professional dentist office twice a year, I make sure I take care of them on a regular basis, I didn’t have any pains. So I was surprised by it. Sure, you might have 1 – 2 cavities despite it all that you can’t feel and see only on a X-​Ray, but not as many. He was trying to get me a crown for my filling. I didn’t feel right and I left. I’m glad I did.
I had other X-​Ray-​s taken somewhere else, done in a normal, serious way and there were no cavities at those teeth.
So, I’d be careful going to this place. Double-​check everything, get a second opinion. I’m glad I did.

My visit here is always very pleasant, very professional and nice Dr. And friendly staff. Me and all of my family been coming here for many years and we are very happy with his work .

Dr. E is amazing I’m so glad that I found him on Unilocal.The good reviews are absolutely correct. He makes you feel completely at ease and didn’t make me feel guilty about not seeing a dentist for years. His assistant Daisy was also so gentle and nice. Dr. E is definitely my new dentist.

I could write a lengthy review about how amazing this place is, but I will keep it to the highlights.
Friendly staff (all of them!)
Dr. Sevak is professional, funny, and a top dentist.
They did not try to upsell me on anything, which is a first for any dentist in the LA area for me.
When I left, my teeth felt clean, and I was in no pain (got a deep cleaning and polish)

My family and I have been coming here for 7 years and I have tried going somewhere else that a friend recommended highly (big mistake) but I came back. Dr. Sevak fixed the damage that the other dentist had caused. My kids feel comfortable with him, so do I and I have my sister and her daughters coming here as well. His staff is always pleasant and friendly, they know me and my kids by the sound of our voice and they are very flexible with my appointments.

Dr. Sevak 818 764‑4679 is undoubtably the best dentist in the entire Southern California area as far as I’m concerned, I was flossing my teeth and I thought a cap came off, it was worse my post broke and the cap came off. I went to see him because he’s my regular doctor and he told me that the post broke off but (he being the genius that he is), got the broken post out fixed everything and I didn’t have to have a dental implant… he is friendly the staff is wonderful there’s a great parking I just can’t say enough good things about this dental office he doesn’t even hurt when he gives a shot at least not for me and I hate shots. I

I love this dental office! It’s been over four years since I seen a dentist. I took advantage of his free offer on Unilocal.You should too! Dr. Sevak treats you great. His nurses are wonderful too. They makes sure your as comfortable as possible. It help my nerves out a lot. I got major work done from him since December. I just got my last major treatment done today and I couldn’t be more happy knowing my mouth is finally going to be more healthier then before. Thank you team this is now my new dentist! :)

I’ve been seeing Dr Elyaspoor for almost a year now, visits have been quick and smooth. No problems. My daughter just got her braces here too. Happy patients. Highly recommend this office. Friendly staff too.

This is my Dentist! I have been going to him for years. I never second guess him. He always knows what is best for me. His staff is very friendly and professional. He takes
the time to explain what his findings are, and what my options are going forward. He has a soft touch. I am never in any pain after he works on my tooth. He does great work! I highly recommend Dr Elyaspoor!

I have to give him a full 5 stars because this guy, Dr Elyaspoor took me when others wouldn’t. I had a difficult problem with a tooth that needed extraction and other dentists couldn’t help. So, I was recommended to Dr Elyaspoor and we got to work on things. When the time came to getting the extraction done, Dr Elyaspoor handled the job beautifully, with ease, grace, and mastery. I’m tellin ya, I never had an extraction that went so smoothly, and where the dentist was in more control. This guy is a master at extractions, I highly recommend him.
Yea, sure, the building is being remodeled when I was there, but what I experienced in the chair was worth walking in.

I immediately went to another dentist after leaving this place who listened to the story I told them about this place and they immediately let me in and did the filling I needed. They agreed it is what I needed and had no issue doing it on the spot. I have a healthy mouth again and a new dentist. I’m way happier now :)

If I could give this place negative stars I would. Let me start by saying that after going here I can not understand where the positive reviews came from. The location is dirty and hard to find. There is trash and debris all around it and the building looks like it’s from the 1950s. I walked in once I found it a dead met with the dentist sitting at the receptionist table while there were patients waiting for him in the rooms. He handed me some paperwork to fill out and then walked away. I don’t know where he went because you can see the entire 3 room office from the reception window but he was gone. When I finished filling out my paperwork I brought it to an older lady who replaced him. She was actually quite nice. She took my insurance information and made sure all of the paperwork was filled out properly. She is the only positive thing about that experience.
When it was time to go in, a nurse walked out and just pointed to me saying, «you, it’s your turn.»
I sat in the chair where they immediately took x-​Rays — 5 of them in the same spot, because she kept missing the part of my mouth she was intending to capture. Then when the doctor did finally come in, he looked at my pictures and just said we need to do a root canal, you have a big hole in your tooth. You are in pain.
First of all I wasn’t in pain — don’t tell me that I am.
And secondly, the reason I went in is because a filling fell out and that’s why I have a big hole in my tooth, I needed a new filling.
I told the doctor that I just needed to get the filling replaced and he responded with, «no it will just start to hurt and you will be back in 2 weeks.»
That’s fine, I didn’t care if I was going to have to come back eventually, I just wanted the hole filled so food would stop getting stuck in it.
Then I asked him about getting a crown to cover it, and again he said, «I’ll do it, but only after a root canal.»
I told him I didn’t want a root canal and he just asked, «then what are you even doing here?»
Um, I thought I was at a dentists office, despite it looking like it hadn’t been cleaned in years, I wanted dental work done, not to be told that I couldn’t get a filling where I already had a filling.
I told him that I just needed the filling replaced and he looked at the pictures again and said, «you never had a filling here, this is a big cavity. You need a root canal»
What do you mean I never had a filling there. The piece of amalgam fell out. I didn’t just wake up one day with a filling shaped hole in my mouth.
The doctor here (I never even got his name) was the most disrespectful arrogant a$$hat I had ever met.
People say this place reminds them of home… I’d hate to meet your families then…

I just changed insurance companies and found Dr. Elyaspoor on my directory and read the reviews here on Unilocal.I needed two crowns so I made appointment and went to see the doctor. He explained the procedure and the costs and I am happy to report that everything went smoothly and I am very happy with the results. I used to go to another dentist for over 20 years but the cost with that doctor was going thru the roof and he wasn’t willing to give any discounts at all, even after being his patient for over 20 years, including my family. So I am happy that I made the right decision to go to Dr. Elyaspoor and I highly recommend him.

So I’m not one to usually write a review, but I felt this was an exception. I’m not a fan of going to the Dentist due horrible past experiences.
However North Hollywood Dental Group has totally changed my mind about going to the Dentist. This is by far the best dental office I have EVER visited!
The experiences I have had have been nothing but great. Dr. Elyaspoor and the staff are truly amazing. I definitely will come back and DEFINITELY recommend North Hollywood Dental Group! :)

I have been coming to Dr. Elyaspoor for a few years now. I have terrible horrible anxiety when it comes to getting dental work. I explained this to him on my first visit. He was understanding and very calming. He explains everything he is doing. I leave there and am always reminded of why I love it there. Everyone is great and polite. Sandra at the front desk is wonderful. And they do speak English! Before I had insurance they worked with me, so that was pretty great. I’ve always had a good experience here and I am so happy that I found this place.

I was in pain walking in and walking out with a smile… Sandra at the front desk is super friendly and great customer service. Dr. E is kind and gentle as well. Over all 5 stars for this Dental Group.

The best dentist ever. They are friendly, fast and extremely knowledgeable.
The office is nice and cozy. Feels like you are getting treated from home.
Staff is amazing. They explain every procedure and if something is gonna cost you, they let you know how much, and advise you on what needs to be done first.
They make you feel safe and they offer latest technology.
Fortunately for me I needed no immediate work. My husband on the other hand, well, let’s just say we are doing payment plan, lol. Thank goodness they are so flexible.
Bottom line is they don’t sell you products, they don’t push you into believing you need something when you really dont. They are just amazing. I’m happy to have found them.

Dr. E was AAAaammmmazzzzing! Totally understood my nervousness and made sure I was numb before moving on. Waited too long to see a dentist but glad I saw him today…
I ate ice and broke my tooth loosening up a filling leaving me with a bigger hole. Sad to say now I need a root canal but I’m not scared to go see him again next week.

5 stars all the way! No doubt about it. Here’s why:
It’s Saturday and most dental offices are closed, but not this one! I had an extreme emergency where I needed a root canal performed. I was in severe pain the day prior and all night. I couldn’t sleep at all. I had pain running through my entire jaw and even up into my head.
Initially, I wanted to wait until Wednesday (payday) to see a dentist, because unfortunately I have no insurance. (I’m generally healthy and just never put any thought into it before. Big mistake on my part.)
There were several other dentists open on Saturday with short hours. I made many calls and none of them would accept a «new patient» on Saturday. I don’t know why.
At this point, I was hopeless, not only because I couldn’t get a dentist to see me, but I only had $ 65 in my account. I make a great weekly income, but I didn’t foresee this agony of pain in my future.
Hanging on to hope/​faith, I gave North Hollywood Dental Group a call. I explained my situation and to my surprise I was told they would take care of me today, even on the little bit of money I had and short notice. Of course, I have to make the rest up in payments, but at least now I can go back to work to earn the money.
You may find this bit of information irrelevant, but I served 8 years in the Marine Corps. I consider myself a pretty tough person, but after this call, I profusely cried. The pain I was in was unbearable any longer and this dental group gave me hope.
They were extremely friendly and helpful in every way during my visit. I even watched a video of the procedure that was about to be performed. When I had questions, all were answered and the dental assistant even drew a diagram for me to explain in further detail.
Ultimately, I felt very comfortable and this place will be my primary dental care facility from now on. Never again will I neglect my health.
