Need muffler work on your vehicle don’t come here. Called to get a quote on installing a flowmaster for my dads 2005 Chevy Tahoe, and once I asked the guy was hesitant to answer and said «oh no buddy that’s a really hard job your asking for. The best price I can give you is 285» rip off! I got the same job I asked for done at King Mufflers in van nuys for 125. Quick job, very satusfied and didn’t hesitate to give me an answer.

I took my old Trooper in as the cat converter did not meet new laws. I found this shop here on Unilocal and it was local with good ratings, so perfect. I had also previously gotten an estimate from another place for some additional work it needed, brakes etc and quite $$$$. He was able to do all work, had a very different take on what was needed, way less $$$. He is a very nice man, honest and running his own auto shop. Great find and exactly the type of local business I try to patronize.

Registration time and my truck’s instrument panel looked like a Christmas tree with all the dummy lights lit up.
I called on a Saturday around 11 a.m. and Tony told me that if I could get there in 10 minutes they would install my catalytic converters (yes 2).
Tony immediately greeted me and inspected my aftermarket parts, stated it would take about an hour or so, and began working. As usual, my jobs are the Murphy’s Law of jobs. Everything went wrong and they had to work overtime.
Even with all the additional labor, I was charged exactly what I was quoted, which was far less than the competition.
Tony and his uncle got my truck breathing again.
For the service and price, you can’t go wrong with these guys.

My car was due for a STAR Smog Check and I knew that I needed to replace my failed CAT Converter. Toyota dealership quoted me $ 1,500 for a new CAT, so I started to shop/​researched around. Luckily, I found R&R online and gave them a call. I brought the car and Tony quoted me $ 380 for new CA legal CAT (walker) installed. Brought the car back on a Sat morning and got the job done in 1.5 hours. Drove the car for 300 miles and then got STAR smog test. I was a bit nervous when the smog guy was asking about the CAT and the serial number, but everything is legal as what Tony said, so I passed the smog check! Tony and the crew are pretty awesome. See them if your check engine light is on and you won’t be sorry.

Needed power steering bracket and belt put on. My roommate recommended this family owned business. I was very impressed. Very fast, friendly and they like to show you exactly what they’re doing so that you know u aren’t being cheated.
Only real concern is I was quoted one price but then it ended up being $ 35 more because they had to do a little more. I still saved so much time and money. It was worth it.

I needed an aftermarket catalytic converter for my old Toyota, and found R&R Mufflers on Unilocal.They gave me a great deal on a certified muffler and even gave me a lift to work and back to the shop. Also completed the job within a few hours. Excellent. Highly recommended.

Oscar Jr and Oscar Sr are the best the best and most honest family owned shop I’ve ever encountered and I trust my EJ6 with my life to them and my family as well with their cars. Best in the valley and I highly recommend!

I had an exhaust leak and Oscar fixed it in less than two hours and at half the price of what I had been quoted by other shops. Go here for a great deal!

The service, and the owner, Oscar. are fabulous! I price shopped (for a new mufller) and this was the lowest that I found. Then I read all the [justly deserved] rave reviews on Unilocal!I made an appointment for 8:00 am on Saturday (this morning). I overslpet and didn’t get there until 9:00 am. By then it was busy at the shop, but Oscar and his team got my muffler replaced and I was out of there by 10:00 am.

Found this shop through Unilocal.Called Oscar to let him know I was coming down to have a new exhaust system installed on my classic car. Met him the following morning, he quoted me a price that seemed more than fair for the work he would be doing. Liked the quality of the work so much that I brought him another car to weld up some exhaust leaks a few days later. Thanks Oscar!

I love this shop and am so grateful to Oscar. Toyota of North Hollywood had told me I needed a new catalytic converter and some other related stuff that would cost me nearly $ 2,000. I was panicking, because my registration was due and I needed to pass my smog inspection, but I didn’t have that much cash.
So then I go to Unilocal and find R & R muffler in North Hollywood, and take my car to Oscar to check it out. He and his son find the codes and say they can’t ascertain precisely what the problem is exactly, because there were so many codes; they tested the car, and it looked like it was working fine. So they said, try to drive it for awhile, then when the light comes back on, bring the car back and we’ll see which codes are persisting. They charged me NOTHING.
Well, the light never came back on, and I just passed my smog inspection this morning. This guy saved me $ 2000, charged me nothing, was the nicest guy in the world, and now has a customer for life. Thank you Oscar!

Honest family business! They tell you how it is and do NOT overcharge. I take all my cars here and I am never unsatisfied!

After being lied to a shoved around by different mechanics trying to get me to pay for way more than I needed… I found this place via craigslist. Thank god I did!
Some other place charged me to look at my check engine light, told me real quick that my cat was bad and my O2 sensor was bad. $ 50.and they didn’t touch it. I took it to Oscar after I had called earlier in the week, and he remember my call, which was nice.
He went through and thoroughly checked everything… and didn’t treat me like some stupid girl. He actually showed me my car, and why my check engine light was on. All in all… i need 2 catalytic converters, but since i was on a strict budget, was only able to get one done at a MUCH lower price than other places have tried to trick me into.
I will go back for sure. Thank you Oscar!!!

These guys are great! I was able to get a new muffler installed (and mine is abnormal) AND thereby pass my emissions test for just $ 140! And the emissions test facility located right next door saved me an extra trip. It cost me more to get my car registered than it did to get it fixed. I’ll be going back to see Oscar again if I find myself needing any further exhaust work. They’re located in the ally behind the plaza. Just take the road right next to the plaza and shoot right into the alley. Very easy to find.

So I failed smog in my Mom’s car and they told me that I needed a new cat, I did a little price shopping and was expecting to spend quite a bit on the replacement.
Anyway I went here after seeing that it was the closest to my house with some reviews that were good, and not really expecting much after that.
I showed up and the mechanic lifted my car right away after I told him that I needed a new cat, in about 5 minutes he told me a price (a very very good price, 50% less than what I was thinking of paying) and exactly how long it was going to take.
They let me sit in the garage while he was working on the car, and he finished in half of the time he told me.
Everything was fast, easy and cheap! I’m guessing with the speed they did it depends on the workload since it’s only a two car garage.
By the way the entrance to the garage is at the back of the plaza in the ally.
Oh and I did end up passing smog after the replacement.

I came in thinking that I needed a catalytic converter and found R&R on craigslist. Oscar and his son informed me that I didn’t need a catalytic converter. I was shocked. I really appreciated their honesty and their reasonalbe prices. I drove from Venice, CA to their North Hollywood location and it was worth the trip. I would definately go back for I highly recommend them and that’s why they get 5 stars :)

Took the risk of going to this shop after inquiring among others within the area. I’m glad I did. The father and son duo of Oscar and Oscar Jr. did our van’s brakes with skill and enthusiasm, not to mention complete honesty. They are affordable and they let you buy your own parts, even give some recommendations, unlike other «franchise» auto shops which doesn’t let you bring your own. Service fees can be negotiated depending on the vehicle. Why 4 stars? cash only transactions, location within a complex of shops; their unit is at the back alley, I almost did not find it.
Overall, they are skilled, honest. and I would have no second thoughts bringing our vehicles here for mechanical repairs.
