Saticoy Elementary School

My sons first year of school here has been amazing! He loves his teacher. She is very kind and loving. The principle and the staff are so caring. We have experienced only the good here so far. The teacher is very sweet but strict at the same time which is very important… My sons behavior has changed to the better and his academical skills have greatly improved. I’m very happy with this school. Thank you Saticoy Elementary!

My child happens to be in their Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DHH) Program so I will only be able to provide insight on that specific program. She has been in this school since she was 3 and she’s in 4^th grade right now. I think their DHH program is a little over average. The fact that they have combined classes means that they are not receiving funding or that no DHH teacher wants to work for them, whatever the reason is, the students are suffering. By combined classes, I mean that certain grade levels are combined into one class pending the arrival of a new teacher (that is if they are actually hiring). Like as of to date, 4^th and 5^th grade DHH are combined. Now, how are children learning and being attended to at this situation I have clue. But to me, this is unacceptable. I do not question DHH teacher’s dedication to their students because these teachers are the best. But we all know they can only do so much and they can only handle so much. But then, this school is in LAUSD’s mercy so… go figure…
