I had the chance to take Yoga with Daisha and she is such a force! She pushes you to all possibilities and makes yoga so accessible beyond the average dancers body. I thoroughly enjoy her energy!

I’ve never had a bad experience here! I love everything about mL:
— The instructor lineups are always FIRE.
— The main studio space (studio L) is large and well-​kept, which usually means it’s comfortable enough to dance in without constantly worrying about slapping the person next to me across the face with my ponytail, AND air circulation is good and they always air out the studio between classes.
— The layout of the lobby is always changing, along with the merchandise offerings, which keeps things interesting.
— Front-​desk staff & work-​study are friendly and helpful!
— Prices are fair, especially the multi-​class passes.
— The overall aesthetic of the studio is clean, simple, and welcoming.
But the thing that makes mL stand out is the quality of instruction. No matter who is teaching, regardless if they are from the industry or community, you’re guaranteed a great class experience. Because of this, I highly suggest taking from even those whose names you might not recognize. That’s how I found out about dope dancers and choreographers who have pushed me WAY past my comfort zone. A great experience for dancers of all ages and backgrounds. Definitely pop in for some classes here if you’re looking to be inspired!
* A note about the location though — parking can be difficult. I often have to circle around a bit, but I can usually get a spot right near the studio or a couple streets over at a metered spot. If you’re truly desperate, there are a couple of paid garages next to the shops & restaurants, but it can get pricey if you’re staying for multiple classes.

Really great studio. Nice, expansive dance floors, large and wide mirrors. I took my sons to do choreo with Anthony Lee. Classes are very affordable and everyone is very nice! Dancers were everywhere, lol. We will definitely be back!

My daughter was attending a summer ballet intensive nearby for the week, but my son needed something to do while we were here in town. My wife new of a couple dance studios he could take a couple drop in classes and the Movement Lifestyle was one of them. He looked online and checked the schedule of classes as well as the teachers.
Drop in classes are sold at $ 12/​class. You can buy blocks of classes to drop the cost as low as $ 10/​class. Worth it if you know you’ll be in the area and use them. The building has two studios, studio «M» and studio «L». Huh, wonder where they came up with that one? (JK) The larger of the two can hold about 120 dancers. This particular class it held about 120, maxed out! Super crowded, sweaty and stuffy. Can’t even say standing room only because there wasn’t any! (See the pic already posted). The class itself was being taught by Kyle Hanagami, very popular hip hop artist/​choreographer! We lucked out that my son was there that night.
The smaller of the two studios can hold about 30 – 40 (my guesstimate). It was being used for more of a cardio training class as opposed to dance. I’m sure they did some dancing, but I couldn’t see. There are no windows to see into the classes while in session. Doors were closed except for someone occasionally stepping out to grab water or use the bathroom. All I could hear from that room was the thumping of the music and the voice of the instructor shouting out instructions for the class attendees. Periodically, the class would run outside as part of the session. I’m sure to grab a breath of fresh air as well.
The lobby area has a few benches and a couch, a small shop with schwag, restrooms and a drinking fountain. The staff were friendly and helpful. Typically if class isn’t full parents are allowed to go in and watch the last few minutes of the class and record the routine given permission by the instructor.
Overall a great experience. The only drawback, as mentioned by previous Unilocalers, is parking. The lot they have is small and for staff only. The 120 or so class attendees need to search for street parking. Plan on arriving early just to park and check in if someone popular is teaching.

This studio is awesome. I’m so happy that some people I knew in SD are here teaching!
Only con– parking isn’t great, smaller studio rooms in both ml and ml one, both studios are also dark.
Bonus– mlone! It’s nice to have a studio with int/​adv level but slowed down at a pace anyone can get!

I’m not too picky. If you have great choreographers, floors in excellent conditions, great sound system, a strong air conditioner to accomodate the body heat and I can see the instruction, then already you are awesome in my book!
My only qualm is parking. Ample street parking yet it still gets full and you are forced to go to one of the nearby pay lots, which is no bueno if you are trying to save a buck or two.

Most of the choreographers are great except a few. FYI. Stick to the adult classes.

Well known studio as are many. But just in dance fashion– there’s movement in every room you step in, there’s life in every dancer you meet, & there’s style in every kind of dance you intend to try.

We filmed here, and the people here were great. They were very friendly and helpful. What’s even more impressive, this place is where kids can stay off the streets.

As I mentioned in my other reviews there are 3 main studios in LA for professional dancers, EDGE, Debbie Reynolds, and Millenium… well now I think theres a fourth one… Movement Lifestyle. Really making a name for themselves and getting popular around LA and internationally as well as alot of foreign dancers are taking classes here. And its no surprise why. The place is owned by Shaun Evristo whos choreographed some kpop idols mainly Taeyang of Big Bang and other YG company groups.
The place is hard to find. Off the mainroad and stuck among some warehouse buildings and apartments. And when you find the place… good luck finding parking. None is provided to students… you need to find one on your own on the streets.
Once you get there though, the place is decent size. Have a front counter and some tables and chairs. The dance floor is limited to one huge studio. Can handle around 100 people… which sometimes they do when a popular teacher teaches.
The studio mainly focuses on Hip Hop but more Urban style then jazz funk type. if you seen Shaun or his other teachers like Lyle Beniga or Pat cruz teach or on youtube you know what im taking about. Its more of the hard stop and move. freeze on beats of the music versus the stuff you see on Britney videos. For me I love this urban style. My main style. So if you love it you will be happy here.
The cost per class is $ 12 but they have discounted if you buy in bulk. They only open M-​F.
So if in the area. Come check this place out. Definitely worth it. For me after Debbie Reynolds its the second best dance studio in LA due to its price and quality of the teachers dance styles and technique.

This place has the AWESOMEST vibe of any dance studio in the city! The talent here is simply incredible, both with the teachers and your fellow dancers.. I actually haven’t experienced this kind of energy from the older, more reknowned places which are nearby in a while. Simply put: this place is the FUTURE!
However, I will say that the front desk staff are rarely at the desk and have a bit of an unorganized attitude. Perhaps a little too laid back… I tried to buy a T-​Shirt, and couldn’t for a half hour, because no one was in the building! The guy that came out eventually was nice, but there was a short– haired Asian chick that definitely flashed me unnecessary attitude when I tried to use the bathroom, as if to say «what are you doing here? Are you going to buy something??» Not the feeling I wanted, but I did buy and after that she miraculously became civil.
But aside from that… the vibe is fresh. :-) Definitely dancing here, from now on, above any other studio!

so i went there last on fri, ²⁄₈^th for Dana Foglia’s 6:30 class (which was awesome btw!)
here’s what i noticed (from really, the other times i was there & i was reserved about writing this originally because i want to give them a chance)…
they’re NOT friendly!!! when you walk in, they don’t even greet you; they just stare you down. they’re all very clique’…
i get that everyone here are all fantastic dancers & are chasin’ that paper, but yo, a lil’ friendliness & humility doesn’t hurt.
that type of shiet makes me not wna come back –_​– but we’ll see

I thought id write a review for a studio i have begun to call my home…
Parking: They have a parking lot, but it is mainly for the teachers and the workers of the studio. There is street parking all around the studio you just have to read the signs and there is also meter parking. if your feeling sneaky and trying to save money then try out the Metro Station parking lot its typically empty around the late night classes ML has to offer so its a fine place to park as long as you dont get caught hah.
Teachers/​Classes: Since the ML studio re-​opened in a bigger area they are slowly growing into having many different styles to teach in their studio. These classes are for intermediate-​advanced dancers, If you are a beginner you are always welcomed to try. All the Choreographers that teach range from just out here in the area to internationally as far as Japan. Even Shaun himself teaches at the studio from time to time. But basically anyone that is well known on youtube teaches here you just gotta check the schedule.
Facilities: the place is nice and a good size when you walk in. White with ML in green. they have the sign spot right where you walk in, the small clothing store next to it, a place for their workers and a lounge area for the choreographers and the people taking class. There are 2 room they mainly use the bigger one for taking class since you can fit close to 150. the small room i can say you can use for rehearsal and stuff. they are both convenient.

This is one of the first times I’m writing a review for a dance studio. My philosophy is that if you’re going to spend money on dance classes, you might as well spend it on the best teachers and classes you can find.
Teachers/​Classes: ML studio has some of the best hip-​hop teachers in the Los Angeles dance scene. These classes are for intermediate-​advanced dancers, so be ready to go hard in these classes! I took Lando Wilkins class and had a blast learning! He did a great job reviewing the moves, drilling them, and making sure the majority of people had them down before moving on. Youtube Shaun Evaristo, Kyle Hanagami, or Jun Quemado, to see just a few of the other great teachers that teach at ML.
Floor/​Facilities: Floor space at ML Studio is HUGE. There’s plenty of room to dance, even when there are a lot of people in the class. That being said, there is only one room to dance in, which limits the studio in terms of the number of classes they can offer.
Notes: ML has a STRONG focus on hip-​hop choreo. If you’re looking for hip-​hop freestyle classes and more stuff to bust out in dance circles/​clubs, Debbie Reynolds is probably a better bet.
Most of your experience will vary from teacher to teacher, some will be better at teaching than others, you’ll like certain styles more than others, etc. Do your best with what people are trying to teach you and you’ll have a good time no matter what!
