Wouldn’t have come here! These people are soooo slow & so ghetto!!!

Went there for superbowl sunday… terrible experience, service was horrendous only one waitress for the entire outdoor section, and apparently only one cook for the whole damn restaurant.
Party of 6 and she took our orders one at a time… literally took one person’s order went to put it in and came back 20 min later for the next person.
I’ve gotten better food from a truck, I ordered the potato skins which were cool just a little on the small side and only 3 for $ 10, the fish and chips were served in a puddle of grease and had no flavor to speak of, and the chicken nachos that I waited 45 min for was the biggest slap in the face with those store bought tortilla rounds and frito’s cheese dip (that wasn’t even warmed sufficiently) plopped on top with 8 (yes I counted) 8 half inch cubes of Tysons frozen chicken breast.
And whether you’re in a large party or by yourself there is a 18% gratuity added to the bill.
For this place to have 2 celebrity names attached to it I expected a lot more. This was truly a disappointing experience.

RESERVATIONS SUCK! You can’t get anyone on the phone, no Opentable booking, they call u only HOURS B4 on the day u requested to confirm or deny /​therefore you MUST have a plan B. There is nothing VIP about this place that requires this procedure. Even the White House responds in advance of ur arrival date — very unaccommodating!!! FIX THIS ASAP !!!

Charged me 20 to park my Bentley in the front although the parking attendants were the best feature of this place.
We were celebrating a friends birthday. We were all shocked on how small the place is. It was extremely dark, place is lit with night lights. ONE I repeat ONE waitress for the entire place inside and out for the whole night. After an HOUR passed waiting on our food we flag down the waitress she says the wait will be another 15 – 20 min because there is only ONE cook I repeat ONE cook. I would estimate there were at least 60 people that I could see in plain sight not including the outside area.
I ordered the lobster mac n cheese. My friends calamari was ice cold the mac n cheese had NO I repeat NO lobster in it what so ever. I flagged down the waitress I took out my cell phone flashlight to show her NO lobster was in the food or my fiends who ordered the same thing. She says she doesn’t know what happened and will find out. She never came back with an answer. A young girl I assumed was the manager came by and asked how it was going I told her about the mac n cheese. She said that the waitress should have informed us it is a soufflé and that there is actually no lobster in the dish but more like a lobster sauce. She offered shots to our party. I don’t drink but oh well. Then it hit me I could’ve sworn something made me think there was actual lobster in the dish. I see a menu on the next table because the don’t pick up the menus. The item specifically said CHUNKS OF LOBSTER, mind you this is a 22 dollar item not to mention they add on 18% gratuity.
I had to get up and find the waitress and the manager and inform her what the menu says. She says oh well I will charge just for mac n cheese which is $ 14.
I also asked for a separate check from the moment I got there. Then I asked for separate checks for the whole party. She comes and says she can divide our bill equally between us. Ummm. no thank you can you just do what I asked? apparently not we had to go thru 5 receipts before they got the check correct and eventually only gave me my one separate receipt.
I have been waiting to come to this place for a long time. Being from Orange County I have never taken the drive to do so. I was extremely disappointed in the service. I WILL NEEVER step foot in the place again.
The DJ played a few of the songs multiple times I failed to mention.
I was really excited for this business but it was a major let down. Too dark, plus they sat a party of 6 at small round coffee tables to eat.
I must say the staff was friendly. I feel sorry for the poor waitress working her butt off.
Also the element of the crowd wasn’t my cup of tea. I was expecting something very «grown and sexy» but mainly classy. That is the vibe I get when I look at the pictures on the website. Being that they have a lot of industry events here I assumed it was an upscale place. I thought the décor would be trendy and upscale. I think basically its just a hole in the wall. The fact that two celebrities own the place is what keeps it’s head above water. I am sure they know they need to remodel and work on the food that is why I believe it is so dark in the place. You literally cannot see what you’re eating. I had to shine my cell phone light on my plate to see what I was eating. The ceiling had tape covering a leak.
I will say that the food we did get was good, besides it being cold and incorrect.

Mom decided to go here for her 50^th birthday, as soon as we arrived people in front of us arguing with staff about miscommunication regarding cover charge etc. Held up the line, unprofessional ! Paid our 10 dollar cover fee each and was escorted inside when two employees were disputing over where our reserved table was at, gentlemen Ej was very nice and helpful, however his co worker with the ponytail was rude and thought she knew every damn thing. Got seated and ordered drinks. Which are a little pricey by the way and were mediocre. Live band played at about 10. Womp womp nothing special there. Our waitress was nice and attentive, food was good ! Place was a little empty for a Saturday night. Overall décor inside and out was nice. Don’t think I’ll be going back anytime soon!

I have two reviews for this place. I came on a Friday night and had a wonderful time. The entertainment was great. Very intimate and décor is sexy. Friday night is the night to come.
Saturday night was not close to being good. First of all on the website for Xen Lounge it says there is no cover charge on Saturday night but once you arrive they charge you a ten dollar cover. When I asked why and referred to what it says on the site I was told they were aware but we still had to pay. Once inside the place was empty but all the tables had reserved signs yet no one ever showed up. The entertainment was really bad. The young lady who was singing couldn’t even carry a tune plus she forgot the words to one of the songs. The service was decent and food was just okay.
Do not go on a Saturday night!

WORST EXPERIENCE OF MY LIFE!
Last night was my first night out after having a baby 3 months ago to celebrate my birthday. So, needless to say, I was ready to turn up!
I had been communicating with EJ LEE about having a party of 25 for dinner. There was $ 25 per person minimum that we had to meet AND he said that we would also have to pay a cover to get in. Where do they do this??! You’re charging people to come in and eat dinner! I was turned off completely, but I had already invited so many of my friends and family, so I decided to talk to the manager thinking she might have more sense… I was wrong.
I emailed the manager, Megen Forbes and she never contacted me. So, I made a reservation online under my name and a separate reservation under my bf’s name for 10 ppl each. No one contacted me about my reservation but my bf was called and told there was no cover. So, we arrived and 2 of my guests that arrived before me said they were told that I cancelled my reservation and hung up in the manager’s face. Right! She lied. When I asked her to show me the number she had called, it was clear that she had not spoken with me. It wasn’t my number. Then when they found out my bf had made the other reservation, they lied and said they told him there was a cover.
Since I live all the way in Corona, we decided to go in and all my guests were forced to pay a cover My group constituted most of their business (I brought about 35 – 40 ppl) that night yet they still refused to honor what is written in their website-​that there is NO cover. I have attached a video of the horrible singer that was booked. I couldn’t wait for her to get off stage as my ears were bleeding and I was ready to dance! At least some dancing would help me forget about my terrible experience for the moment. Come to find out, there would be no DJ. I was told there would be a DJ by EJ and the manager claimed «they never have a DJ». The website boasts a DJ almost every night that they are open for business. That was the last straw.
This was the worst experience I have ever had. I was insulted and defamed on my birthday. I won’t be back!
This place is tiny and not intended for large groups.
Furthermore, 18% gratuity is charged on Each transaction, large group or not. That can’t be legal.

Do not go here! This place was absolutely horrible for many reasons.
1. Website says «no cover» on Saturday but when we arrived they said that the website was wrong and you still have to pay. When we finally got in in the bathroom there is a sign that says no cover on Saturday. Obviously this place is managed by inexperienced people. FALSE ADVERTISING. Management says «we lost our password to the website and we can’t get access to change it». Wow!
2. Made a reservation and over the phone they told me that there was going to be a Dj and there was no DJ just a TERRIBLE band playing with a singer who couldn’t hold a note!
3. Service is slow and every time you order a beer or cocktail there is an 18% gratuity included, so please do not tip!
4 No where to dance and it’s super small inside. The VIP room in the back where we were seated had a door to the kitchen in it so while your entertaining your friends they are walking in and out with food orders. Really
I know who owns this place and I hope they fix this problem ASAP. Absentee owners will cause their business to fail. Fire the management and the host!
I came with 35 friends and family so we packed the place without our group this place would have been a ghost town.
If you want to dance or hear good music this is not the place GO SOMEWHERE ELSE !!

Purchased a Groupon and came on a Sunday night. The Groupon said we had to make reservations prior, but they never answered. I tried for over two weeks before deciding to just show up — fortunately they gave us no problems. The waitress explained that since it was «slow night» they would honor it without the reservation (soooo, good luck if you have a Groupon & show up on a busy night).
As if the lack of ability to make a reservation wasn’t a bad enough introduction, we received no greeting whatsoever when we arrived. Keep in mind this was a «slow night» so we weren’t even positive they were open. There were a few people scattered about but no one visibly eating or drinking and a band looked to be setting up, so we didn’t know what to make of it. We literally slow-​walked all the way to the bar at the back of the place, then looked right at 2 servers, who looked back at us expressionless, before I turned to the nearest person (who turned out to be «1 of the promoters») & asked if they were open… seriously. It took all of that.
On to the actual establishment — the menu is very limited but the 2 dishes we chose (the lobster mac soufflé and the shrimp & grits) were very good. The inside is a little cramped but the outdoor seating looked bomb (too bad it was too cold to sit out there). The live band was really good and worth a visit just to have a drink and enjoy them for an hour or 2.
The server was actually really nice & helpful & her frequent check-​ins helped offset the fact that the food took a while to come out. Again, it tasted great which made up for the wait, but I fear for someone who might be hungry on a busy night.
I’d go back. But it would definitely be just for the music & chic ambiance. Don’t go there hungry or expect any of that friendly, inviting service most places brag about. Know what you’re in for and be ready to chill — I’d say it’s more of a place for people who want to be seen, more than anything else.

Good food, great music, but the seating was pretty unusual. I only give them 3 stars because of the customer service we received. We had to ask for a receipt for the cover and speak with the manager to get it. Then we were told we had to sit on a couch with another couple because we only had a party of 4 instead of 6… It was somewhat uncomfortable and we obviously we’re intruding on the couples date. They were very sweet and we all got along really well, but that is because the couple and my party are obviously great people. Then the couple told us that the hostess had told them they would need to leave or move from their seats after 2 hours — who says that?! It was really weird. However, I will say that the negative was made up for by the music, food and serving staff who if not for them, my rating would be much lower.

I came because of FB so I finally figured where all the skinny pant black men hang out. If your over 30 not the spot but the cool part is live GREAT LIVE R&B

My sister, granddaughter and I enjoyed dinner and Tisha’s show on a Fri night. The ambiance is lovely, the food delicious, service was great and the show excellent! Get there early and expect a cover charge of $ 10 with reservations. BTW — I called to make reservations, and I was treated like a VIP by Megan. All around 5 star experience!

I got a groupon to check it out and this is what I got from the experience
1. You are supposed to make a reservation but all calls went unanswered. Send an email and it takes a million years to get a reply (well Its the 21^st century replying to emails should not take longer than 24hrs)
2. We take our chances on a Friday night. I knew we would probably have to sit outside– no problem. Having to pay $ 15 cover to sit outside with two other couples and watch their show on a tv and wait lightyears for a drink — YES PROBLEM.
3. Oh man oh man do their people need training. It’s not their fault, my waitress was super nice and did her best… BUT people should get a drink menu along with the food menu when they sit down. Someone should take ur drink in less than 20 minutes when u first sit down — and these drinks should be a nice balance of sugar, alcohol, and mix.
4. The food was ok… Just ok. So they get a star… Place is cute comfy and chill … They get a star… I paid 59 $ for $ 100 worth of food, I got $ 59 discount from my check… Well at least I got my money back LOL!!!
5. Place is interesting enough to give it another try, maybe see the show inside live to justify that cover!!!

My mother and I arrived what appeared to be early. We went for dinner but no one really arrived until after 8 because there was a live music event at 10.
Anywho… I’ve been in LA for three weeks and been to a lot of restaurants, bars and live music events in that time. Xen BY FAR left the BEST impression of any place I’ve visited.

Crowd — 5 (I’m 26 and my mom is 51 we both liked the crowd and the vibe)
Wasn’t a huge fan of the décor, but who cares! The service was exceptional, as well as the food and a cool crowd! I’ll definitely be back. Planning on taking a group there for my birthday in two weeks!

I hate to give them one star but Unilocal forces me to do so. Last night we decided to try this place out. We walked in about 7:15 through the patio area where a busboy was and a few ladies sitting at a table. We went inside where there was a few employees & no customers at all. We were not greeted or acknowledged at all! The hostess walked right past us, bumped into me & didn’t say a word. We walked all the way through (small place) & stood there for about 5 minutes & it was as if we were invisible. We walked out & will not be back! Horrible!

The one star is for the performers I saw on stage, «Twin» were amazing! They sounded beautiful and were entertaining.
Let me start by saying that the woman in the front was rude. She stated that there was no cover charge to eat outside but there was a $ 10 cover to go inside. I looked inside and could see that the place was pretty full… It’s not like it was a club and it didn’t have a dance floor… so what am I paying $ 10 for? The cover was «for the band»… What band??!
We paid the cover and when we got in, the place was packed with no where to sit. There was barely room to stand and we were blocking a few people sitting down unfortunately because we had no where else to stand… So they made us pay $ 10 each to stand uncomfortably to watch two performers… We left right after… And I can say we will NOT be coming back here.
If you call on the phone the person answering will say they don’t have much info on the place and will give you WRONG information … So don’t bother. I highly recommend NOT going to this place. Unless a friend is performing.

Gotta give it a solid 2.5. We used the groupon ($ 60 for $ 100 worth of food and drink) and sat on the outside patio.
Everyone seemed a bit scattered and we assumed that the place had just opened. When we checked Unilocal at the table we were surprised to find that it has been open since 2012.
The drinks were really weak and we assumed that it was because of the groupon. I doubt we will be back.

Maaaannn I was really up there, when I walked into this place. I easily found street parking like a block away. If you have a girl to impress, there is valet. I rode alone so, you know. Plus I wouldn’t have been able to «smoke out» in the car in «their» parking lot.
Anyhow, I was meeting up with two of my lady friends, but I showed up a little early, and I wasn’t sure if I was suppose to walk through the front door or through the patio. I chose door number two…
The patio area is charming. Right away there is a oversized victorian looking chair. Probably a seat for the best selfie ever. So its cool. There’s astro-​turf on the floor, patio furniture and tables everywhere, and the patio wraps around all the way to the back. There’s a chic fireplace back there too. Great atmosphere. There is good upbeat loungey music playing in the background. very comfortable, every table was occupied, but I felt I had plenty of space to move around. It was nice.
The food was good. I had some big-​ass burger with sweet potato fries, tasty. My friends ordered, crab cakes and calamari. That was good too.
Drinks were decent and the staff was really polite. Mostly the atmosphere won me over on this place. My only gripe is that drinks and food take some time, to get to you. I think the place is under staffed. But I was high, so it was worth the wait. I’ll just be sure to eat something before I go. I will definitely be making it back to Xen Lounge. The name suits it well.
