History

Established in 1983.

Born into the practice of architecture, Gail started working for her architect father, the late Terry Hallock of Pittsfield, Massachusetts, when she was 16 to pay for a new bike; and then she stayed on. After graduation from RI School of Design with a BFA and Bachelor of Architecture, Gail & her father opened a branch office of Hallock Architects in Warren RI in 1983. Upon the retirement of Terry, Gail opened her own firm, Gail Hallock Architect Inc. and now specializes in working with families to design their new houses and additions. The office moved to the village of Wickford, RI in 1987, to a beautiful example of early American architecture, built in 1788. The office has since expanded and now resides in North Kingstown at the Lafayette Mill Complex.

Meet the Business Owner

Gail Hallock C.

Business Owner

Gail started as the daughter of an architect. From the time she could speak, her father would point out various parts of buildings with his hand holding her finger. Her mother said she never had a choice! Referring to Gail as a destined architect.

At the age of 16, Gail wanted a bike, but the only way she could buy one was to work for herdad. She never left!

Continuing on to college, Gail wanted to become a linguist and a national geographic photographer until she fell in love with an architect. She then transfered from Colby College to Rhode Island School of Design where she earned her degree in architecture.

Gail was fortunate to have her father to help start her own firm and fed lots of work to her throughout the years leading to Gail taking and finding her own clients. In return, Gail Hallock Architect, Inc. was born!
