Thank goodness they are closing this place and starting over again. Hopefully they will hire new cooks and purchase higher quality food. Although the bar service is usually good with friendly and accommodating bartenders, my most recent dining experience was one of the worse ever. Ordered what was supposed to be corned beef and cabbage. The meat was inedible with more fat than meat with undercooked potatoes and absolutely no flavor. My previous meal of fish and chips was just fair.

My parents brought me here one night. They always rave over the fish and chips. Over all I was satisfied, the food was good I ordered a special, pulled pork sandwich with fries. The sandwich was a little soggy, but quality of the sauce and flavor was great. Fries were just ok. The service was great, our waitress was very attentive and speedy and my drinks were the perfect pour. I’ll stop back another time

We took a trip to try Kitty Murtaughs. There are two restaurants in this building. Park on the right side(as looking from the road), the door in on the front of the building. Just inside the restaurant was a sign to ‘seat yourself’ so we picked out a high top in the bar area and made ourselves comfortable. The rough hewn wood detail, exposed beams and brick wall in the bar area are nice. The dining room goes way back and has lots of small sections. Looks like mostly booths back there ranging from the large ‘six seater’ to the small ‘two seater’. There was a good selection of beer and we started with a Sparten Octoberfest and Foolproof IPA. Our first choice was unavailable because the keg had to be replaced and there appeared to be only one bartender and one waitress on duty. Even with the change in beer choice, it took a while for the beer to arrive and when it did, we were given bottles without being offered a glass, although the waitress happily got us glasses when asked. We saw the waitress a fair amount and she was polite but I think she may be new because she didn’t have the attention to detail of a more experienced waitress. We started with calamari which is a mix of tentacles and rings and comes with a grilled lemon to squeeze over top. Both the squid and the peppers are coated in a plain batter and deep fried. This give the appearance of more ‘rings’ and gives a spicy surprise when you bite down. The dish most definitely benefits from the spicy peppers. I ordered the Roast beef and onion sandwich which comes on a very lightly toasted marbled rye with red onion, avocado and sprouts. The menu says it contains ‘cheddar cheese’ but what I got was absolutely one of those yellow cheese food slices you get in the plastic wrap: nothing cheddar about it. The roast beef was fatty and along with the red onion, the horseradish sauce on the sandwich was the overpowering flavor. There is plenty of roast beef on this sandwich and if you like very strong flavors, you may just love this sandwich. I ordered a salad as my ‘side’ and got what appears to be a house made honey mustard dressing. The dressing I received would make a very tasty sandwich spread, with it’s strong dijon mustard flavor, but was much too thick to even consider using as a salad ‘dressing’. I ended up dipping my fork into it before spearing some salad. It was tasty, but they need to work on the consistency of this ‘dressing’. There are TV’s on either end of the bar area and the background music was a mix including Pink Floyd and Modern English. Sound REALLY carries in the bar area and we could very easily hear the conversation of the women who were at the table on the other side of the room from us as well as four people seated at the bar. If you are looking for a place to have a private conversation, the bar area is NOT a good choice.

Welcome to the neighborhood! Wish we hadn’t waited to try this place. Loved the décor as well as the drinks and food. I had the scrumptious buck a shuck oysters. So clean and delicious and beautifully presented. Tasted my hubby’s clam cakes and chowder. Pleasantly surprised that this app rivaled many of our chowder and clam cake favs in Newport! The fried clams in the clamzilla roll were so fresh and light and tasty and my husbands bolognese got the job done. Staff was friendly and the service was excellent. Our new favorite place! Next time we’ll have to try the Irish food.

Giuess you should not come shift change time. Bar service just terrible. Took ten mins to get a drink almost walked out. Empty glass still in front of me. Can’t get a drink to save my life. All set. Leaving. Not sure I will be back.

Popped in for lunch yesterday with my fellow Boldr Dashers after the race and we were thirsty, starving and ready to chow down. We were seated quickly in the back private room and received prompt attention from our server. For starters, we had the nachos, clam fritters and fish tacos as apps. All were decent by bar standards with 2 exceptions — 1) The cheese on the chips felt like it had been on it for a while as it was all stuck together and hard and 2) the fritters were hot and fresh but you couldn’t really tell what sort of fritter it was suppose to be; more filler than clams. I shared both the Clamzilla and Lobster sandwiches and the contrast between the 2 seafood rolls were night and day, both in calories and taste. The Lobster roll was prepared with very little mayonnaise which is a really healthy option but it also lacked a bit of flavor. However, we had quite the opposite opinion of the Clamzilla sandwich. Wow! This bad boy was served with a healthy dose of fried whole belly clams with a tangy aioli sauce on a french baguette. 5 stars for this sandwich. I would come back just to get this again. The fries, on the other hand, were quite soft and soggy. Overall, 3.5 stars would be more accurate but for the Clamzilla sandwich alone, I’ll round up to 4. Depending on what you order, it can be a hit or miss. Just remember to order the hit items and you’ll have a great time.

So far, not too impressed. Ordered a side of the«naan» — which is supposed to come with one of the entrees, but I love naan and thought it would be a good appetizer. To the ownership of the establishment, you are serving pita bread and calling it naan. Please realize that these are two VERY different foods and it was a major let down and I haven’t even gotten my actual meal yet.

A newly opened neighborhood pub with a sister restaurant right next door. Its forcing some of the«Irish» details, without any of the atmosphere; but the waitress was quick and friendly, the Guinness was fresh if served a bit too cold, and the burger was a properly cooked, charbroiled hand formed patty of lean but tasty sirloin. Not too shabby for a local joint.

Stale I really don’t know where to start or go with this review. This place is supposed to be an Irish Pub, but it’s not. It’s supposed to be a sports bar, but it’s not. It’s supposed to comfortable, but it’s really not. The place is pretty new and clean but there is nothing to differentiate it from any other average new bar. Drinks aren’t cheap, TV’s are in weird spots, food is ok at best. No real craft beer list so it doesn’t really accommodate beer junkies. To top it off its in a weird area with nothing around it, so besides locals I don’t see why anyone would go out of their way to visit this spot. It’s not terrible but it’s not good either. Maybe I’m missing something, but I usually am a pretty good judge of bars. Good luck Thanks

This place is pretty fantastic. I came here for Friday night dinner with a couple girlfriends and we had an absolutely wonderful time and delicious food. The only problem was that my fiancé devoured my leftovers before I got the chance to eat them, so I’ll have to go back right away. We started out with some sushi, which seems like a strange thing to get an an Irish pub, but it was fantastic. When you consider that half the restaurant is Wicked Fish, and that the food comes out of the same kitchen, it makes total sense for there to be sushi on the menu. Also, they have an actual sushi chef, so it’s properly rolled and just yummy. I also like that I was able to get sushi, but not make that my entire meal like if I had been at a sushi restaurant. It’s nice to have a bit of variety in one place! For my entrée, I had the fish and chips. I’ve eaten a lot of fish and chips over the years, and these were top five. The fish was crispy, the chips were the thin, but not too thin ones so they had a nice crunch and the dill tartar sauce was so delicious I wanted to just eat it with a fork. But I’m a classy lady, so I restrained myself. The space is also really cool and deceptively large. I didn’t know too much about this restaurant before eating there, but apparently Wicked Fish, which is the other restaurant on the same property, is the fancy place. Kitty Murtaugh’s is pretty damn fancy too! It’s got a great, laid back vibe, and despite the size, there are plenty of nooks and crannies so you can still hear and talk to the people you’re eating with. We all had a great night. The service was excellent, and we didn’t feel pressured to get out so they could turn over the table like you do at some places. They let us hang out, which resulted in me drinking more beer than I should have, but I have no regrets!

comfortable seating, high and low top and bar seating. Good menu for lunch, haven’t tried dinner yet. Had the Cobb salad with 3 large and yummy shrimp. Very good! Specials too. A stones throw from Shartner farm. Friendly service, and fast too! Will definitely be back again!

I came here for lunch with the lady as we were very intrigued by the huge influx of cars always parked outside this place. Turns out this establishment is 1 half of 2 restaurants; Wicked Fish and Kitty Murtagh’s. Upon entering, you are given two paths, WF or KM. Wicked Fish wasn’t open at the time, so we entered. The place looks great, with all new tables, chairs and televisions which all surround the bar, it’s centerpiece. A real nice pub! The menu was fairly simple and easy to read. However, the prices… Especially for lunch were a bit outrageous for this area. I was pleased to find Long Trail Limbo on the menu and ordered it. I was even more pleased when it came to the table in a 14 oz pint shaped glass. Typically you get it in a 12 oz glass, so for $ 5 I was happy for the additional 2. I ordered the beef stew, because I had too much fun the night before and needed something hearty to base me out. The wait times in between orders were very long. I would get looks from employees, but no one ever actually acknowledged us. They mainly let the waitress do everything. Wouldn’t be bad, except she seemed to be the only one working the entire floor. The hostess was literally 5 feet away from us… could’ve done something for us. She mostly just stood there waiting for customers to come in. We finally got our food and the first thing I noticed was the size of the bowl of stew. I went into it anyway assuming maybe it was hearty enough to satisfy my appetite. I was wrong. It said on the menu that there was bread in the stew, but it was a mere 3 pieces of thinly sliced baguette toasts neatly positioned and a big glob of luke warm mashed potatoes floating on the top. The presentation was nice, and luckily the stew was hot enough that when I stirred the potatoes into it, they heated up to a halfway decent temperature. Also, I had never seen mashed potatoes in a stew. It wasn’t bad, but different. The chunks of beef were huge. I had to somehow cut it with my spoon, which was a little awkward. The stew was in fact tasty and good, but for the $ 12 price point, it was definitely not worth it. I was literally done within 5 minutes and I was still really hungry. We ordered a Guinness because it was St Patty’s Weekend, and it was properly served in a real pint glass(16 oz pour with creamy head on top). This also took an eternity to get. They didn’t offer to make it green either. :( The waitress was very nice when she was able to help us, which was great, but the painfully slow service reminded me of the rest of the places in the North Kingstown/Exeter area. I’m not looking to chew and screw, just a good tempo. The atmosphere here is pretty neat, but I’d suggest a few things. Reasonable prices vs portions, a few local options(Tilted Barn is in your front yard), and a more helpful staff.
