In 2013, The Inside Scoop took first place at the RI Foodfight’s Incredible Ice Cream Throwdown. Rhode Island Monthly Magazine recently named us as one of the top ten ice cream shops in Rhode Island. We are an Editor’s Choice for Rhode Island by Yankee Travel Magazine, and the New England Ice Cream Restaurant Association awarded us with the Promotion of the Year for our «Movie Night Under the Stars.»

Our creative ice cream flavors include chocolate peanut butter cup, coconut, coffee oreo, peppermint stick, sweet cream, butter pecan and apple pie.

In addition to scooping Rhode Island’s best homemade ice cream, we offer soft-​serve ice cream, non-​fat soft-​serve yogurt, delicious ice cream cakes, and the ultimate mobile ice cream cart experience for your next event or celebration. Established in 2001.

Since we opened our doors in 2001, we’ve been making delicious homemade ice cream using the highest quality ingredients while providing you with the best customer service possible.

We open our doors in the spring and are busy throughout the summer season until we close again for winter.

We visited Rhode Island for the first time this past weekend and my girlfriend has to have ice cream everywhere we go. This was one of the first places that came up when we searched for where to get ice cream, so we decided to give it a try. She absolutely loved it. The peanut butter cup and chocolate peanut butter cup ice cream were both delicious and so creamy! We will definitely be coming back to this place on our next trip!

Terrific home-​made ice cream, extensive range of flavors, and good to go to anytime. Inside Scoop’s a small roadside stand, with outdoor picnic tables to sit (nowhere to sit indoors), and parking is limited so can be a little bit of a pain during peak summer season, but oh, the ice cream is excellent and worth the hassle! Root beer floats, shakes, ice cream sodas, sugar or waffle cones, or just in a cup with as many (very generous) scoops as you desire. Usually, we just get the single scoop because higher scoop counts are simply too gluttonous for us. Also can get in pint and quart containers to go — and they really pack it into those containers too!

I loved this place. It was tiny and personal, and they had really crazy flavor combinations. I wish I could remember more of them, but if it helps at all… I landed on Coffee Oreo and it rocked my world.
If you’re in the area there is absolutely no good reason no to go.
I’m a little Lactose Intolerant and I still went so. seriously…no excuses.

The girls inside seem always inpatient and in bad mood! I can’t imagine who did the bad thing to them! I just moved and only visit here twice, then I decided I would rather drive 10 miles more to visit Brickley’s next year…

AMAZING ice cream! Would have appreciated kinder and more patient service. My family isn’t from the area, so we needed time selecting our flavors. The young ladies seem to be irritated by that. When giving us our total, she said it with a rude tone as if I was an inconvenience.

My husband and I try to get to the Inside Scoop at least once a week while they are open… By far the best ice cream and service in Rhode Island! LOVE the maple walnut, mint chip and chocolate mousse.

This was my first time here. Lots of choices so I went with the Purple Penguin which was black raspberry ice cream with white and milk chocolate chips. A friend had Coffee Chocolate Chip. Both were excellent. Service was quick and friendly and there was a little bit of outdoor seating. I don’t get to this part of RI very often but when I do I’ll be back!

This is our favorite ice cream shop. Their coconut is awesome and our kids love the sundaes. Service is always spot on. They did a great job with the recent updates. Looks wonderful.
The only draw back is we live 30 minutes away but that’s probably a good thing for our waistlines.

I love love love Inside Scoop for some homemade ice cream! I have not been to the one in Cranston, even though that one is closer to me. I have gone to this location a number of times! You can smell the delicious homemade waffle cones as you enter! Those cones are definitely delicious! I love their Peanut Butter Oreo Ice Cream (it’s fabulous as long as you love those two things!) Also I love their blueberry pie — as I do love blueberry with that graham cracker crunch! My boyfriend’s mother loves the Peppermint Stick one! They also have special flavors during the summer time. I wish they were open year round! The staff here is always pleasant when we go to their facility! Certainly get your samples before committing!

In response to your public comment regarding my input, this is the reply I had already sent to you privately:
Certainly John. Disappointingly, your chocolate has had inconsistent consistency the several times this season that I’ve ordered it. I don’t recall it being this way in past years. It was almost soupy. Didn’t appear to be weather related either because when I put the remainder in my own freezer, it had the same mushy-​ness when taken out later.
Also your young staff present pleasantly to customers but the air is full of tension. They seem stressed out. It’s not the relaxed, upbeat and fun environment that you expect goes along with the getting ice cream experience.

Growing up, TIS was a treat to come to. Living in Portsmouth, it was a rare occasion to come here, but when we did, it was something we talked about for months after. My childhood memories placed it in downtown Wickford, so when I went today and saw it next to a gas station some of my memories were crushed. As well as my tastebuds. Their ice cream is homemade, and huge points for that. However, the two flavors i had lacked a poignant taste, and didn’t elicit the feelings that I used to get as a child. It tasted homemade, but it didn’t have the extra kick that I remember.
Either way, TIS is pretty damn good ice cream. Interesting and unique flavors, you can’t go wrong!

We often stop here for homemade ice cream on the way back from the beach. The ice cream is usually good though the Bing Cherry I had the other day tasted a little stale. The outdoor area with picnic tables is nice and clean. There isn’t much room for parking which probably explains the messed up lot. In my opinion there are better ice cream joints but the location is nice.

Fast service, generous samples, unique homemade flavors of hard ice cream and yogurt. A small is roughly a scoop and a half (get two flavors!) but plenty of calories so good enough serving size for anyone but a tad expensive.
Hard ice creams we tried: Chocolate Coconut Almond was nice, as were the Pistachio, and Coffee Oreo. Kicked up coffee in that last one. The Sea Salt Caramel was a Special Flavor, though I found it unspecial. Sample first!
A solid way to end the day with a local fave while we were visiting Wickford. I give it four licks.

Fast service with homemade delicious & smooth icecream. I had the chocolate mousse– it was excellent! Competitive prices. It was $ 3.50 for a small, really not bad. We will be coming back im sure ;)
Im sure in the heat of summer this place gets packed, the parking lot isn’t too spacious…

I have always loved Brickley’s ice cream but don’t always want to drive all the way down to get some. My in-​laws live right around the corner from The Inside Scoop and in the 10 years my husband and I have been together I have never stopped here. I always wanted to take the drive to Brickley’s. Well this past weekend we were already in NK and I had a craving for some cake batter ice cream, I finally took my husbands advice and tried their ice cream. It was pretty damn good, exactly what I has craving and I loved the colored sprinkles mixed in, like a cool and creamy funfetti! I did think it was a little pricey for a small cone, but the ice cream was so rich that I was certainly satisfied. Before I ordered I also sampled a flavor called Purple Penguin and I do believe I will be returning to get a whole cone of that stuff too! Mmm mmm
