SOS WAX

I went in for my birthday underarm wax. I was happy to see that a regular underarm wax was only $ 15 but with a b-​day coupon (listed on their website) you get $ 5 off! I went in and the place was clean and the girls that worked there were extremely nice. The girl that waxed my underarms was quick and efficient. However, after I left I noticed a patches of hair that she missed. These patches were long enough for another round of wax. Since it was my birthday and I had plans, I was not in the mood to go back and get it fixed. I figured she would have showed me my underarms with a mirror after she was done. She also didn’t tweeze as a many of the short hairs as she could have. I was disappointed with that. Contemplating going back. Some places around town thread the small hairs after the wax. I wish they could do this…

So update~ yes now I am happier. I had one of prior estheticians again and they did a much better job. Very nice, made me feel comfortable. She did an amazing job and the Brazilian itself had next to none pain (could be that I’m getting more used to it but I had very few moments where I’m shrieking in my mind haha)
I’m definitely coming again to continue the maintenance program. It’s such a great deal and gives me one less thing to worry about. I really enjoy how everything looks down there and how welcoming, comfortable, and clean the environment is at SOS.

I want to like this place, I really do. I came here about 4 times around last year before they had their own location. I was serviced by Genet at the Rain salon and was always happy and satisfied and with the maintenance price, you can’t beat it!
However I came back after stopping my Brazilian maintenance and wasn’t as happy. I won’t say names but I’ll just list what I was unhappy with.
The first time, I was serviced by one girl who did a pretty good job down there. I was happy with how it looked and she tweezed all the little hairs. However, she commented on how thick my hair was and at one point showed me a strip of wax with all my hair on it. THAT did not make me comfortable but the end result I was happy with.
The second time, I was done by another girl and she was very nice. Did not show me my hair and was a good conversationalist. But in the end she left me with bits of blue wax stuck on my area! And I had about 10 stray hairs on the top that bothered me. I wasn’t sure if she was rushing but I just wasn’t as happy. I didn’t tell her because she already left the room and I already had my friend waiting outside and we had places to be.
Overall, this was just my experience and next time I’m going to make sure I’m happy with my Brazilian in the end. I’m giving 3 stars for now and then I’ll update next time if it’s better for me.

Really liked this place and will give it another chance however do not get waxed by Alaina (or Alayna not sure how she spells her name) I got a bikini wax by her and it was very uneven on the top. And she didn’t show me how it looked once she was finished so I tipped (oops) and I was so unhappy with how uneven she had left it. I will come again to SOS wax but definitely with a different person. The place was very clean and relaxing, I just think I was unlucky and I didn’t make an appointment ahead of time (I made the appointment the day before and had no idea who to ask for as it was my first time). I got waxed by someone who wasn’t that experienced I guess. So yeah, avoid Alaina unless you’re willing to risk getting an uneven waxing job lol.

This place is so awesome! I highly recommend it! I saw a groupon listed for a great price and figured I would give it a shot. Super easy to schedule, WAY clean, and amazing customer service. This was my first time so I was completely mortified and Angie was extremely professional but also so personable! Love her, the results, and have already scheduled my next follow up appointment for the $ 35 special!

Most gentle, least painful waxing experience I’ve ever had. And to put that into perspective, I’ve been waxing for 4 years. I’ve seen 6 – 8 aestheticians at 3 different companies and have tried waxing at home. Danielle did a fantastic job! Very pleased with the experience and I will be back!

First time getting waxed here, and it was definitely a magical experience! The establishment is very clean & staff was super professional. My estetician was Jessica, and she is absolutely awesome. Super thorough, personable, and professional. I had hyped up the expectations of pain, but she was swift without compromising on quality. I am looking forward to visiting again!

Best waxing salon I’ve been to in Vegas! Jessica is amazing and walks you through every step of the Brazilian to ensure you’re comfortable the entire time. I keep coming back because of how comfortable I am here. Also if you come back within 30 days of your Brazilian it is only $ 35! Super convenient, friendly and professional. Absolutely had a great experience. I was so scared getting my first Brazilian. They offer a numbing cream there and honestly it didn’t hurt as bad as I had expected. Definitely will be going back. Great staff !! Very friendly and encouraging.

I first found it on Groupon and decided to check it out. I’ve been going ever since and that was about 1 year ago.
Genet was in her own rented room before and she is great. Professional, friendly and such a nice woman! She recently moved into her own building and hired a few estheticians, who are all friendly and welcoming as well.
Most wax places are super pricey. Genet has a great deal that if you reschedule within 30 days of your last appointment you get a discount. Who doesn’t love those?
They are very prompt at sending our email reminders as well to let you know that you should reschedule. Then you simply click the link and schedule tight there online.

This was my first time visiting SOS Wax and I LOVED it! Elena was GREAT! She’s very professional and friendly, she made me feel very comfortable and made the process as painless as possible. She’s very efficient and fast, I thought it would take longer but she’s quick! I will definitely be returning for maintenance services in the future.

Love the new location for Genet and the SOS Wax team. Elena was very professional; amazing customer service and the prices can’t be beat for regulars. Next time I am definitely adding the teeth whitening service.

It was my first time ever getting a Brazilian and I was super nervous. Dianne was so easy to talk to and walked me through the whole wax process before starting. SOS Wax and Gennet is great. SOS is wheelchair accessible and comfortable. I’ve been having eyebrow waxes for 25 yrs & can tell when someone knows how to do a truly good wax and Gennet really does. She is quick, gentle and thorough and if a bit of tweezing or trimming is needed She does it. (My Partner has been getting her lip waxed by Gennet and says she’s the best she’s had for that in a long time) The office is easy to find– I recommend trying SOS for your next wax or facial soon!

I went to Genet for the first time today. Very impressed. She was very professional and experienced waxer! I’m very happy. I’ve been going to another waxing place for years and I will now switch permanently to Genet.

I got my eyebrows waxed today and although I said my main problem was above the brow & temple area she waxed below the brow too… which resulted in a burn under my right eyebrow on my eyelid skin where I know there wasnt even hair. It has been almost 6 hours and it still hurts & is swelling up. Im crossing my fingers that it doesnt leave a scar. As a makeup artist I would hate to be insecure about taking my photos and showcasing my work when I have a scar across my eye. I tried putting vaseline on it as she told me to but i could not touch it because of the pain. Tried to get a refund and she was extremely rude and pretty much laughed in my face. I reported her to the state board and in the future ill make sure i’m not burned before tipping $ 5.

Genet was recommended to me by a friend, whose suggestion turned out to be quite accurate. I had a terrific, relaxing facial in a very clean, professional room that is located in an upscale building in a nice location. I plan to return.

Genet was very professional and friendly. I scheduled an appointment with her for a Brazilian wax and a facial. I was a little skittish due to the fact that I haven’t been waxed in over a year. She was quick and thorough, and it didn’t hurt as much as I had anticipated. The facial was so relaxing that I almost fell asleep! She has a clean, comfortable room within Rain Salon.
And the glitter sun temporary tattoo I had her apply? It’s still going strong one week later!
The only thing I would say that I missed out on was she forgot to give me product samples to try on my face to see if I liked her products. No worries. Next time! I’ll be back!

I NEVER write Unilocal reviews… but I must give bug KUDOS to genet. My initial waxing with her was about a month ago. I found a deal on groupon a d decided to give her a try. To date it was the absolute BEST waxing experience I’ve ever had… not to mention her technique of using both hard and soft wax seemed to be more effective and lasted longer than any other wax I’ve gotten. Today I went in for my maintenence wax and was out in less that 30 minutes and it was minimal discomfort. If you are looking for a lasting waxing experience I HIGHLY recommend Genet!

So glad to have found this hidden gem in the NW! I found genet on groupon (I never buy services on there but after reading some reviews and seeing it so close to home I decided to give it a go) I couldn’t be more happy with my experience! The lady at the front when I walked in was lacking customer service but I ended up finding the studio (#122) genet was super friendly and eased all my worries (1^st experience with a brazillian) she chatted with me during the appointment her energy and feel of the salon was soo nice and comfortable CLEAN and inviting. I’ll definitely be back and will try additional services offered.

Genet gave me the best wax I have had since moving to Las Vegas! I got a Brazilian wax and Genet was very thorough. Her private room within the Rain Salon is clean and comfortable. She also offers a great deal if you book an appointment three to four weeks between waxings. I love supporting small businesses especially when the service is exceptional! I will be back!
