BUILT by Syd is not like ordinary training programs. Syd uses techniques from a variety of sources to train you. Strength and mobility training, yoga, postural alignment, physical therapy techniques, nutrition, and balance are all incorporated to help change your lifestyle. Most importantly, each training session is unique to each client!

History
Established in 2013.
BUILT came about because Syd wanted to put her own education into practice. She was sick of the corporate gyms that sold processed chemicals and who were more concerned with money than the well being of the client.
Syd wanted to use everything she learned to foster a true method for training individuals beyond anything that any gym or local training center could compare to.
BUILT uses all sorts of methods from a variety of techniques including: Iyengar, Ashtanga, Hatha and Vinyasa yoga; Pilates; Strength Training; Functional Training; Organic and Sustainable Nutrition; How to cook; Proper Posture; Egoscue Technique; Stress Management; Breathing Exercises and More!

Meet the Business Owner
Sydney C.
Business Owner
Syd graduated from UCSB in 2007 with a double minor in Group Fitness Instruction and Personal Training. She received certifications in both areas from as well as a certification in Group Cycling. She has been teaching and training individuals ever since. After lifting too much weight and learning improper lifting techniques at a corporate gym, Syd injured her back.
Diagnosed with Degenerative Disc Disease and Facet Joint Arthritis, she took up various forms of yoga, found Japanese Acupuncture, a chiropractor specializing in Neuro-Emotional Technique and various postural alignment exercises to better herself and live in less pain.
Syd utilizes all that she has learned, and continues to learn through research, education and practical experience in her training. Through proper nutrition, postural alignment, yoga, strength training and stress management, Syd transforms each person she meets!
