History

Established in 1986.

Matthews Insurance Services was first started by Gene Matthews in 1986. His son Steve joined the business in 1994 and is now running the agency. Matthews Insurance has six licensed representatives that can assist you with your insurance needs. The office has been voted Best Insurance Agency by Sun-​Herald Readers poll 2007 – 2014.

I have been involved in the insurance industry since 1990. My family has lived in North Port since 1972 and I have been involved in coaching and sponsoring various youth sports teams. I have also helped the local Boys and Girls Club and I currently serves on the board of directors at the North Port Area Chamber of Commerce. I have been awarded Allstate’s Good Hands in Community Grant Award.
