They should really be ashamed at the level of effort they put into customers and their lack of attention to detail.

First off they got my Tax i d number wrong, and got me in a mess, they fixed it but no atta boys for that … Second i took one of my employees info fro the D O R «Department of Revenue «ya the words that give you shivers … i dropped of the paper work at Paychex, handed it to the girl at the front desk, and these a holes lost the paper work, did not get resolved for 6 weeks … Go with someone different, it is too hard to change companies once you’re in …

I believe this company systematically sneaks charges into their invoices and probably only a small percentage of bookkeepers and small business owners catch them. That’s what seems to be happening to me.
Two mistaken charges in less than 1 year, and my payroll is extremely simple, one employee paid only once per month.
They never explained why the mistakes were made, just promised to credit my account. But that doesn’t seem to be happening either.
Avoid Paychex, inc. They are scammers.

I switched my business from adp after they missed a few unemployment tax payments. I looked at a few different services but I liked that I had personal and local support with Paychex. My accountant actually recommended them so I wasn’t too worried about the transition. My specialist has been wonderful and I think that being able to actually call someone on their direct number is overlooked these days. I’m tired of calling an 800# and waiting for the next available representative!

I echo the thoughts of my fellow reviewers in that if I could give no or negative stars I would give that to Paychex, Inc. Along with the many payroll errors that are made on a regular basis they know little if anything about the other areas of service they claim to be specialists in. The sales and service staff make no effort to understand the laws and regulations regarding the products they sell to the extreme detriment of their clients. It is very sad that a business that claims to be a specialist and professional is allowed to function in this way. I could never recommend their services and know many other small business owners who feel the same way as I have never met anyone with anything positive to say about this company.

I’d like to pretty much copy and paste Nicole’s review. Countless errors and overcharges… I finally sat down, did all the math, and then had a phone conference with my «specialist» (I spent around 3 hours on this) and corrected everything and they kindly agreed to give me 4.5 months of free payroll (instead of refunding all of my money…). My «specialist» was honest with me that he would be seeking other employment soon and that each «specialist» has 300 clients, making it IMPOSSIBLE to achieve great accuracy. Done and DONE.
