My husband and I decided to try this place one day while waiting on laundry next door. Our experience went as follows. Entered restaurant. Thought décor was kind of charming but plain. Went to window. Waited as least three minutes for a real live human to appear. Finally one did. A contankerous looking man with limited English skills. Ordered a slice of pepperoni each and a can of soda. Stood awkwardly for a while before realizing we were supposed to sit and wait. Sat to wait. And wait. And wait. The entire time we heard the phone ring. And ring. And ring. And ring. And riiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiing. I walked out to wait before I decided to possibly strangle the owner with the telephone cord. Came back in. Waited some more. Finally someone walked over to the table and unceremoniously dropped two slices of pizza down and ambled off. I had to get a pile of napkins to mop up the the grease. Cue more napkins. And more grease. Finally we began to eat the pizza. The slightly too sweet and incredible greasy but otherwise edible pizza.(edible, hence the two stars) We ate in silence, since we couldn’t think to have a conversation through all the ringing. And ringing. And ringing. And ringing. You get the picture. In any case, we will never be back. Don’t bother calling to order anything. They won’t answer anyway.

Got a 10″ pepperoni personal pizza. It… Was… AMAZING!!! Perfect crispy pepperoni edges and crust. Absolutely one of my favorite pepperonis. As far as all these bad reviews go.. .. . It’s a little hole in the wall«PIZZA» restaurant. If you want scampi or something like you get from olive garden.. Go to the damn olive garden. I haven’t had anything but the pizza, but then again after tasting it.. That’s all I’m interested in. So stop hating cuz your sauce was a little watery, or the garlic want cut the proper thickness. GRAB A SLICEANDBEHAPPY! ! !

I had never heard of this place before, it was my wifes quick dinner idea after recieving a flyer on our door. We ordered the beef gyro w/fries as well as the stuffed mushrooms. I could not be more disappointed as a 1st time customer. The stuffed mushrooms arrived in a foil togo container completely burned and drenched in grease, our gyro was sloppily put together, but very tasty, the shaved meat was cooked great and the sauce complimented the generous portion of meat stacked upon lettuce and tomatoe slices. I just cant get over the burned stuff mushrooms, i am only giving 2 stars because i cannot believe the restaurant allowed food to leave their kitchen looking that terrible.

After a long hold period when I called to place an order, the man taking my order quoted me $ 28 for two medium pizzas. I asked if it would cost less for me to use the 2 large, 2 topping special for $ 23.99. He said«I don’t know» and put me on hold. When he came back on the line he added up the price for the larges and said $ 28.94. I said I’ll take that. He then recalculated and said it would actually be $ 32. I asked if that was taking into account the coupon w/the extra $ 1.50 for Feta and he said«Don’t worry about it. Call Pizza Hut or Domino’s» and hung up on me. I’m not sure why he would treat a new customer this way. Other reviews misled me into believing I was speaking with a helpful, friendly person. Don’t waste your time with this hot head. Apparently he does not want new customers. This is the nicest way to put what I think of this business and their customer service.

I got a sub and a slice. Paid just under $ 10 The sub was very uncreative. The ham on the sub was great. That’s it for what was good. Over crisped roll. Ham pepperoni cheese allot of lettuce and some tomato. No Italian dressing no onions no peppers of any kind. After crunching through the first half I had to take the meat and cheese out of the other half just to taste it, it was covered up by the thick over cooked bread and mountain of lettuce. Once again the ham tasted good. I should have just gone to Arby’s. The slice, if New Yorkers tried a slice of what I got the would riot to get«NY» off of the restaurant name. If pizza was like this in New York then pizza would have never become famous. I will not be going back here. And there was no service to comment on.

Great pizza! As a native New Yorker it’s hard to find a decent slice, but this place is pretty on point. The employees are very sweet :)

Not sure how I feel about this place. I called to order a pizza for the first time he doesn’t bother to tell me about the specials over the phone but then charges me extra for the one topping pizza, then after I go pick it up I see a sign on the door that says one topping is $ 10 and he says when I called I didn’t ask about it well how in the hell would I know if I’ve never been here before genius. The upside is the pizza is good.

I was excited to try this place based on all of the positive reviews. But I don’t think I am as over the moon as everyone else. I ordered a large pepperoni pizza with extra sauce for pick up. As some others mentioned, the phone did ring for quite awhile before someone answered. The pizza was ready in about 15 minutes which was nice and quick. They added seating and really spruced up the inside from the previous pizza place that was there! On the pizza side — I didn’t see anything special about it. It’s a thinner style crust. I like extra sauce and I could barely notice the presence of any sauce. The crust was kinda on the chewy side but I do think it had a great flavor! I also liked the fact that they got the pepperoni’s nice and crispy on top(I love when they are on the crispy side). To sum it up, it wasn’t the best pizza I’ve ever had. It didn’t remind me of a true genuine NY pizza. But it wasn’t the worst.

I usually don’t like pizza, but I like pizza from here. It is thin, has good flavor, crust is good, they don’t go overboard with the sauce, put decent amount of cheese on their pizza. It reminds me of pizzas that I had in the north. They also conform to my weird request of making pizza fries!

This is the first place in our new foodie journey around the Watauga/NRH area that has been awful. I’m giving 3 stars because this is family owned and my conscience just wont let me score lower. We ate inside– we try a new sitdown place every Sunday. Mistake. It was confusing as hell to figure out how to go about this. You have to go to the window. Order your whole meal. Pay and then sit down. It was 50⁄50 on whether we waited at the table or went back to the window to pick it up. You wait. The person bringing you food is not a server. They just kinda set it down and leave. Theres a language barrier. Not a huge deal. Its makes the place more charming. We order the Garlic Cheese Bread– reviews said it was good. A 10in Pizza Spaghetti w/meatsauce. The bread was good, but we had to pay an extra dollar for any marinara to go with? Like not an extra one on the side. Any. At all. Pizza was alright. Spaghetti w/meatsauce was awful. Its an extra $ 2 to add meatsauce, meatballs, or… OR.mushrooms. Not a huge deal. It makes it $ 7.99– which is normal anyway. But it came with almost no meat. The sauce was… I’m guessing from a jar? Super watery. I did get a buttload of it though. The bread its served with is trash. You get half a tasteless, hard roll. Only drinks available are soda cans for $ 1 Or a 2-liter for $ 2.50 That was… eh. I can get over it. I want to drop a one-star on this place but I support family businesses. Just get your crap together and this could be a charming awesome place. We might try ordering pizza. It was decent and we could avoid the dining in experience.

You can’t put into words how delicious this place is! My family is from New York and this is the closest pizza place we’ve found that actually tastes like the real deal! Authentic as it gets. WOW!

Pizza and the calzones are pretty good. I like the sauce but don’t care for the cheese on the pizza. There baked pasta dishes are really good. I had the cannelloni it was great. My favorite dish is their stuffed mushrooms. They remind me of the stuffed mushroom I used to get on the East Coast.

I read the reviews on Unilocal a few days ago and I was curious to give them a try. I have never tried the other restaurant prior to them opening. When I first entered the restaurant I was greeted by the owner. I ordered the special large one topping pizza for $ 10.00. Special is for takeout only. I ordered half pepperoni and half ground beef. While I was waiting for my pizza the owner offered me a slice of baklava. I think it was his wife that brought it to me. I was very surprise and didn’t expect it. First let me say that it was delicious. The owners mother makes it from scratch so it’s authentic. I ate the whole piece. There was also another woman waiting for her pizza and they gave her a piece of baklava to go. I love supporting local restaurants especially when they go out of their way to provide you with the best customer service. I don’t know how to explain it but I have never had pepperoni on a pizza taste this good. I don’t know what they do to the pepperoni but it’s delicious. I would definitely come back. They are only about ten minutes away and they deliver. My husband is a New Yorker so I’m not sure how he would rate this place. He’s working in Afghanistan so he won’t be able to try this place until November.

I just tried to call, no answer(just rings and rings). They are supposed to be open 7 days a week. Has there been a change to the schedule? I also asked on FB, will see I guess. I was looking forward to trying them out, never got around to trying the previous tenant of the space so was excited to see someone else open up shop + the pictures(the ones that they actually took) and the reviews look good. :c

We were having a meal at a nearby restaurant and when I went to check in on Unilocal, this place popped up in the«nearby» list. I’m so glad it did because I doubt I would have ever noticed it. A small place with a pretty small sign in an older strip mall on Mid Cities, just east of the Rufe Snow intersection. We went on a weeknight, around 8:00 and we were the only people in the place. The chef/owner(?) was working on prepping dough while we stood at the counter and examined the menu. He was very friendly but seemed a little frazzled. Maybe he’s not used to running the counter, but he seemed to be the only employee there. He couldn’t get the credit card machine to work, but fortunately I had enough cash so that wasn’t a show stopper. They have a bunch of specials and we went for the large, one topping pizza for $ 10. We upgraded to a premium topping(meatballs) for a buck fifty. I asked him to make it extra crispy. We also ordered a Cesar salad to share. The salad came out fast, with a packet of Ken’s dressing, which was fine. I didn’t expect a dressing prepared table-side. Then the pizza came out, bubbling with beautiful brown bubbles of cheese and super crispy, slightly burned crust. The chef was worried we would think it was too dark, but that’s exactly how I like it. Your mileage may vary, of course. The crust is super thin, which for a long time I thought was a style of crust I didn’t like, I suppose because my primary exposure to it was via Pizza Inn, which served a dry, flavorless, cracker with sauce on it. This crust was amazing. And, bonus, it’s not as filling as a typical crust so you can eat more! So, the place isn’t fancy at all. Not a first date kind of atmosphere, but it’s just terrific pizza. I’m not sure it’s exactly NY style, I don’t think NY style is quite that thin, but whatever style it is, it’s outstanding. My only complaint is the television on the wall. I really dislike having to listen to that while I eat. But we’ll be back. No doubt about that.

So the pizza here is NOT comparable to the grand prairie location. It lacked cheese yet was very heavy on the grease! The crust was thinner than I liked. I won’t return but will continue to stop by the gp location whenever I’ve got a hankering for greasy cheesy pizza which will probably be tomorrow

The pizzzeria is new to our area so my daughter and I decided to try it for a late lunch. The owner was very nice and we talked about his other locations and he is from Brooklyn, NY. I had the Mediterranean personal pizza and my daughter had a slice of the pepperoni. They were very good and the price was good. My family will be getting pizza from this place again.

Trying this pizza place was a spur of the moment decision after checking the fridge and realizing there was zero food. I got the fettuccini Alfredo with chicken and it was amazing. First, the owners of the restaurant actually delivered the food themselves and they were extremely nice. I would 100 percent recommend this place to everyone and their mother… and father anddddd cousins… maybe even their dog as long as it’s not a chihuahua

Stopped in on my way somewhere else, lured by the woods«New York Pizzaria.» Looking for a memory of the pizza in Queens near my grandparent’s home Not too far off! Owner is from Brooklyn. I had the lunch special — 2 one-topping pizza slices with a canned soda for $ 4.99, and they were BIG slices. Lunch pizza was premade with toppings added and put in oven for a quick warm up. Taste was very good, and I’m quite sure with a whole one fresh out of the oven, tasting that memory is going to happen here. Not just pizza on menu — amazing looking pastas in combinations I haven’t seen, like chicken topped w/eggplant in pink sauce, so I will be back. Took a pic of my pizza but can’t seem to get it off my phone; if I ever do I will update review with pic.

Just stopped in for the grand opening and I will be back soon! The pizza was thin, crispy and delicious. Very friendly staff but don’t expect a waiter as you order at the counter and seat yourself. It is a bit of a hole in the wall but it is a great improvement from the last pizza joint in that space.
