Went In to see if I can get an appointment and nobody would even acknowledge me… do not wast your time

Been going here for several months. Show up today five minutes late after driving an hour to get there and the stylist had left. She could have at least called since I’m a regular client driving so far.

I visited Kindal on a referral for my first visit. I was a little skeptical because my hair is very curly. She gave a great consultation on the color and cut. She did the color, shampooed, then actually requested to straighten my hair to ensure a precise cut! Uhhh, yeah!!! I’ve been to her twice now and my daughter. I can hands down say she is the best colorist and stylist I’ve had in years!!! She is the rare type that cares just as much as you do about loving the cut and color you leave with!

I randomly called this place last Saturday desperately needing a cut… I hadn’t been too fond of the place I’d been going to in Dallas. Kindal was able to squeeze me in and she’s definitely made a new permanent client! My hair looked the best it has in a long time. She listened to my requests with how I liked my hair styled… It was so nice to not have to run home and ‘fix’ it before going out in public again! The salon is beautiful and clean. I am so happy to have stumbled upon Salon Red!

Sarah did a great job on my hair. She cut and styled it exactly how I wanted it. You can get a cheaper haircut somewhere else, but I doubt you will get the same quality. I would definitely recommend her.

There was a scheduling conflict and Kindal handled it completely professional and took care of my hair. She has done a great job on my hair each time. She’s sweet and personable.

Sarah Gibson is amazing! This is the first time I’ve had a stylist listen to exactly what I want and had me walking out being 100% satisfied. She is fantastic with color and cut. I highly recommend her and will definitely be making her my #1 stylist.

I went in on Saturday (today is Tuesday… this will be important later) to have my hair done by Kindal for the first time. She was very sweet and pleasant… at first. I showed her pictures of various balayage hairstyles that I liked, with highlights framing my face.
When she started blowdrying my hair, I noticed that it was nothing like I wanted and I could hardly notice a difference. I usually use $ 5 box dye and do my own hair, so I was disappointed knowing that I was spending $ 100+ and not seeing much change.
She seemed really pissed when I asked her to add some highlights around my face. She didn’t even use toner like she did the first time around to balance the color so the highlights around my face are a brassy yellow (I’m a natural brunette).
As I was doing my hair today (four days after getting it done), I notice that the highlights are like 1 ½ inches from my sccalp. So not only do I have streaky yellow highlights, it also looks like I already need a root touch up.
I will be finding a new salon to fix my yellow hair :(

My first visit to the salon was awesome… Whitney was super friendly and made me feel at ease. My hair came out great– she cut just the right amount off. And not to mention I bought a really pretty hand made sliver and turquoise necklace from her! I’d recommend booking an appointment!

Whitney is the best! I am SOOO picky about my hair, and she is fantastic. She fixed a horrible hair cut I got, got me in same day, and made my terrible day and hair cut beautiful again. She listens to what you want and gives you what you ask for.

I ALWAYS get compliments on my hair after seeing Whitney; not only from friends and coworkers but strangers have stopped to tell me they love my hair. Whitney may not have decades of experience under her belt but she brings youth, vitality and knowledge to her styling/​coloring. Sometimes with stylists who’ve’ been at it for years, you get someone who is stuck in a rut.
Most of the time I can vaguely describe where I think I want to go with my hair color and Whitney always makes it better than I imagined!

Jake is awesome. I went to see him last week for my first time visiting Salon Red. I was going out of town for my birthday and my hair lady canceled on me 2 days before leaving for my vacation. I looked up salons on Unilocal in a panic, trying to find a place that could get me in that night, as my roots and ends were NEEDING some love. After calling many salons, I finally found Salon Red and grabbed Jake’s number off the website. It was a monday, his day off, and he GLADLY met me at the salon and did a fabulous cut & color. His knowledge and experience for hair is out of this world. I got my usual, blonde all over highlights, he did so well!!! He’s one of those stylists you can just sit down, relax and trust that HE KNOWS HIS STUFF. :-)
I’ve already booked my next appointment with him. Yaaay for randomly finding this awesome stylist!

Jake is a true artist – he goes about hair in a stylish, fun, and innovative way! You can tell he has been in the business for a while – he understands color and shape and can craft you a look that will frame you up well. He was easy going and time efficient, which is a plus for me because I start to squirm if I have to sit too long. He was sweet with my grandmother and gave her the modern boost she was after, and colored my hair in a way that looks polished but natural. The salon was clean and cute, parking right in front. I recommend this place for a lotta bang for a little buck! (see photo of my hair posted above)

We have a 2-​yr-​old boy. Any parent knows how energetic and crazy getting hair cut at that age can be. AmyJo was terrific! It was over before we even knew it. I mean to tell you what! She has kids/​boys of her own and knew exactly how to get it done quick, neat, and cute. Will def be back!

So far I only gave 4 stars because this is my first visit, and I haven’t had a chance to take advantage of other services. However, I had a great first impression. Stylist Amy Weeks took me for a walk-​in haircut and style. I didn’t have to wait long. Amy was personable and professional. I was made comfortable, even though I wasn’t a regular. She listened to what I wanted, and also showed me how to style my new do. I’ve been able to do the same thing at home.
Lastly, I was very satisfied with the hair cut itself. I suppose this is the most important thing! It is even, just the right length, and appropriate for my hair type.

Great looking salon, I believe the stylists are independent. I understand most have quite a bit of experience, however the girl that just cut my hair graduated HS in 2010 and still needs basic skills. I don’t like it when salons allow their less experienced stylists to «practice» on male clients. She was very professional and courteous, but again… needs some practice before she should be cutting hair at «full price». I wish her the best but I think i’ll pass on going back… I like to know a salon has a minimum standard of education and experience.

Salon Red is a wonderful establishment. See Amber if you have curly hair, she really knows what she’s doing! This salon has a great atmosphere and some of the stylists do booking online through stylebook which I find extremely convenient.

This place really is as good as it gets! The staff is amazing and obviously everyone seemed to genuinely enjoy what they do. I would reccomend salon red to anyone. especially Amy :) Great prices too.

My stylist recently moved to Salon Red from a Salon in Grapevine and I was excited! Salon Red is much closer to my home and after my first cut with Ashley at Salon Red I came home and told me husband to switch, too. The salon is full of independent contractors, so you book your appointment directly with the stylist, not with a front desk (necessarily). Everyone seems to work together; a girl had to leave for bed rest with her pregnancy, and the other girls were all working out how to take care of her clients. They have mimosas and wine, complimentary, for you on Saturday (or any day if you just ask!). The Salon is uncluttered and clean.
