They have a car advertised online that’s not even at this location. They said they’d get the car moved but to give them about four hours. We never received a call by 4pm, as they said. The next day, my brother called at 9:30am. The guy said they never moved the car and to allow them two hours. They guaranteed it this time.

Walked into Joe Riaaz this morning, asked some questions about the Escape. Clearly the old white salesman team aren’t used to dealing with a women who knows what she wants. The salesman told me to go home and read the material about the car. When I asked to take a test drive, I was told they could not find ANY KEYS?! Really! Guess what, I was in between an Escape and an Encore. I went around the corner to Castle Buick and paid cash for a new car, picking it up on Monday. You never gave yourself a chance to sell me on your car. This lady bought herself a new car today, it could have been your sale. I hate being dismissed, remember that the next time a woman walks into your showroom!

Not good. My wife and I went in not totally sure of our budget. We wanted some ideas and help to understand our options not only for what type of vehicle but also the price. After looking at one car the salesman basically became very harsh and told us he only wants to deal with people who know they can buy today. We then left after only test driving one vehicle and went to Westfield Ford. We were treated very well and had no pressure put on us. They helped us figure out what price was good and let us drive a few vehicles. We then purchased a very nice vehicle. I would not recommend Joe Rizza to anyone looking for a new or used vehicle. The sales staff just stood outside swearing at each other and we’re very vulgar. Clearly we did not have a good experience at all.

Great experience! Just bought our second car from here within the last year from salesman Louie V. My wife traded in her Toyota Matrix 03 for a 2015 escape and I just traded in my 07 fusion for a 16 escape. Louie and his manager made the experience painless and smooth! I highly recommend this location and sales team especially Louie V.
Bravo and glad to be a 100% ford household as a result!

I was shopping for a new Explorer and am a member of Costco so I wanted to check out their plan. I filled out all the info and found out this was the closest dealership to me. When the sales person called I told him I was about 2 months from making a purchase but loved my Explorer and wanted to get another one and was checking out prices. Well for some reason I could tell he wasn’t happy, I guess sales in 2 months aren’t a good thing. Needless to say 4 days later I get an email saying that it’s been over a month since I inquired about a car and no one could get in touch with me, really? Clearly this dealership doesn’t know what relationships and customer service are, glad I found out before I gave them my money.

Very unsatisfied right now. I’m a three year customer and I’ve been with them for service since I moved to Chicago. I called in for work to be done (a service action recall) on the Transmission Control Module for my Ford Focus. The scheduling was very inconvenient. The rep I spoke to said the shop could only take me in M-​F, during business hours, and in fact, they said anything after 3 pm was a no go!
This is not exactly convenient for customers. I had to go out of my way from Edgewater to come in first in the morning at 7 am. Also — I came in because my horn stopped working again! The Extracare ESP I purchased there is a COMPLETE RACKET OF A SCAM. My horn was malfunctioning and the possible replacement part would not be covered under my extended warranty. To top it all off, I actually came in two years ago to have it fixed at Joe Rizza for that very same issue but luckily… it was covered under my bumper-​to-​bumper warranty at the time and got a new horn assembly. Now they said they can’t cover it because the «2 year part warranty» expired 2 months ago. I guess I concede on that fine print but I bet they probably did a crap job of installing it and they won’t own up to giving me a bad piece of hardware. Since my Ford extended warranty doesn’t cover it, they’re saying I have to pay out of pocket. I hope Joe Rizza enjoys that commission they got out of my useless «Extended Service Plan»… The horn assembly, AN ESSENTIAL BASIC SAFETY DEVICE is not covered under this second tier plan! I find it infuriating that they replaced that part earlier and it broke again! Hell… my 16-​year old Honda Civic is still chirping and honking like new and it’s never been replaced or repaired! I give them two stars since the service has been prompt and friendly until this moment. Unfortunately, this is likely the last Ford vehicle I’ll buy and kep.

We ultimately didn’t buy our car from these guys but the team was friendly and knowledgeable and ready to make a sale. I wish they would have presented all offers up front instead of playing the old school dealer games. We worked with Ken specifically who was great in that he wasn’t pushy at all.

WARNING Very unhappy and regret buying a car from Ford Joe Rizza. Six months ago they sold me a car 2014 Ford Fiesta SE. They knew this car came with a really bad defect and that the problem was not fixable. Went there Saturday and they tried to screw me over bad. I will get a lawyer if needed because I am pretty sure 100% that the Lemon Law applies to this situation. Since they were aware of this car being bad and still sold it to me. I don’t recommend Ford or Joe Rizza to anybody. Will also report this to the better business.

STOPSTOP DO NOT SHOP HEREI purchased a 2014 Ford Fiesta used with 14,000 miles 6 months latter the transmission goes bad took it to the dealer 3 times to get it fixed each time I was given the car back with the same exact problem. I was told by the service manager that it’s Ford’s problem not theirs to take It up with Ford Motor Company (REALLY) then why sell a junk car from your dealer and not own up to the responsibility to fix it right. Mind you it still has a factory warranty. Another thing they advertise a cheaper price online and when you go there they come up with the story Oh Ford no longer has those prices. WOW!!! Every time I call or take my Ford Escape into Joe Rizza Ford I have a great experience. From the checking in to checking out, everyone is friendly and considerate. Yesterday, I needed to wait a few hours for service on my car. I was working in the waiting area and one of the Managers offered me an office of an employee who was out for the day. They also completed my car 30 minutes earlier than expected. I won’t purchase or lease a car from anyone else!

Bought a car, everybody was a class act… Pleasure to deal with, and made it a nice, easy transaction… Thumbs up to you Joe Rizza Ford!

I HAD been a happy and returning customer at Joe Rizza for a few years. The service advisers were always polite and attentive. This time I brought my Ford Escape in for a «quality care inspection», oil change, and recall.
Imagine my surprise when literally the next day after picking up my car my brakes fail while cruising down the Ike, barely missing rear-​ending someone and crashing into the sidewall. Turns out my front brake hoses were so cracked, one split and sent brake fluid everywhere BUT where I needed it. My brake hoses are very easy to access and a simple glance at them would have shown cracking (they were that bad). I would expect a good tech to recognize this issue and recommend they be replaced. That is why I trusted my car with a Ford Dealer in the first place.
After contacting the service manager to complain he said something along the lines of: «What do you want me to do about it» and not in the «How can we make this right» kind of way. He was extremely condescending and I felt he wouldn’t have spoken that way to me if I were a dude. Wanting to give the benefit of the doubt (maybe the tech DID notice it, but the service adviser forgot to tell me??), I asked for a copy of the inspection notes as they were not provided on my billing print out. He didn’t even bother to look up my service history and said he couldn’t provide the notes. He took absolutely no responsibility for his department’s poor work, and that is really all I wanted.
He did offer to pay for the tow to the dealership, but I feel they should also have covered the labor for replacing the then destroyed brake hoses. I would have happily paid for the parts.
After two unreturned voice mails and three no answer calls to the general manager, AND one unsupportive call to Ford corporate I have given up and am now ranting on Unilocal.
This entire experience has completely turned me off from Joe Rizza and the Ford brand.

I needed to have my recall serviced so I scheduled an appointment with a nice service guy. When I went in, I wasn’t sure if I should park my car outside and talk to them, pull it into the service center, or another entrance I couldn’t see. So, I ended up driving around and parking outside to talk to someone. Apparently, I was supposed to pull my car in to ‘get it into line’ and not doing so put me three cars back. Boo. Next time I will be sure to ask on the phone exactly where I should go so that there is less confusion.
Everything else was streamline and they were spot on with their time quote. Topping it off with a wash, I was much less annoyed when I pulled away an hour later.

When you have the misfortune of working with a dealership like Joe Rizza Ford you wish Unilocal had a zero star rating. I was introduced to this place thru the Costco Executive member auto purchase program. Was connected with a salesperson who really didn’t care one way or the other. Extremely unprofessional, unhelpful, dishonest, and rude. Coming from a sales background I just couldn’t understand how this guy had a job. But he did do a great job of acting like the stereotypical car salesman. The car I wanted was not in Rizza Ford stock, nor could one be located, so we were going to order one from Ford. Long story short after ordering, leaving my deposit, and waiting (almost two months)…No car. I stopped in to find out what was going on, the salesman was not prepared for my visit as he scrambled. I was provided with a lame excuse about Ford, no apology was offered. An explanation of «it is now supposed to be here at the end of July» (I was told the original order would be in by the end of June). The reactive approach made me very angry, I questioned when was I going to be informed of the lengthy delay? I was told they were going to call me that day, even though they had been sitting on this information a while. When I expressed my displeasure with this kind of treatment, I was told «the door is that way».
My plan now is to still purchase a Ford, but from another source. I have contacted Ford directly as I am sure they would not appreciate this dealership and their attitude towards customers. I also plan on blasting Joe Rizza Ford in any way I can beginning with the internet, blogs, and social media. I will tell my story to anyone that will listen, hopefully this will have a negative impact on Rizza Ford its business. I am also letting Costco know how the program actually works from a customers experience.
Fair warning to all… They will waste your time… This place is brutal !!!
I can not imagine any Ford dealer conducting business this way…

I had a terrifc experience with the sales team in December 2012 and the regular service department.
However, the Quicklane Service department leaves a bad taste in my mouth. This department, which is for quick and simple maintenance such as oil changes, has posted hours on Joe Rizza’s website that state they close at 6pm. This is late enough for most people to run to the dealership after work. However, their hours are very misleading. The technicians actually leave at 6pm. Per the customer service rep at the desk, «you need to get your car here around 5pm because all the guys leave at 6pm and we don’t pay overtime.» Where does it say that on their website? Furthermore, I called the day prior and they told me to bring it by 5:30pm.
Today (2÷19÷14), my wife arrived at 5:03pm with our $ 35K 2013 Ford Fusion that we purchased from Joe Rizza. The Quicklane service department refused service because «there’s five cars in front of you know.» That’s right, the highest margin service that a dealership offers to its customers was denied!!! Dealers make the most profit off repeat, routine maintenance and they refused a customer. I understand that employees have to leave at a certain time but don’t advertise you’re available from 7−6pm when it’s really 7−5pm.
I enjoyed their sales staff during my purchase. Their regular service department was great when a recall notice came in but this Quicklane department is a joke.
Let me post this analogy. If a restaurant closes at 10pm, you walk in at 9:30pm, they’re not going to say «sorry we can’t serve you because the chef left.»

Jesse in the service department was quick to respond to my voicemail regarding my car troubles, unlike the other Ford dealerships in the area. Joe Rizza is not exactly around the corner from me as I live downtown, however I had my car towed there due to the quick response and great customer service. I am not sorry that I did, I had my car back and working the next day! I will definitely head back there for any other issues or tune-​ups.

Service people are very nice, easy to deal with.

The experience was good. Will come back thru Quick lube on Saturday again. Both reps were great.
Why don’t they wash your car after service anymore.

Everyone was very helpful. They gave me a great deal on the car and a decent amount (slightly more than expected) for the trade in. The vechile prep was fantastic! I can’t believe they moved all the stickers.

STAY AWAY FROM SERVICE HERE! If my car broke down right in front of the place, I STILL wouldn’t take it there again for service! They start work without a consult and don’t check their machines on a daily basis because I was told halfway into a job that the machine they used was missing a piece and it would be at least a few hours to get the replacement. Of course I couldn’t use my car at that point and when I asked about the free shuttle service, was told that I would be better off calling a friend because the shuttle service was not reliable! It’s a bit out of my way but I will go to Westfield Ford from now on!
