Bailey’S Moving & Storage

I recently had my one bedroom apartment packed and loaded in Salt Lake City. My experience was great and I only have positive things to say. I am surprised by the other reviews here. Perhaps it depends on the team. My items were packed by team leader Armando Carrillo. He is just a nice person and very professional. They were super efficient yet they handled items very carefully. This is also my second time working with Bailey’s Moving & Storage using Allied Van Lines. I am very happy with their services. Try to request Armando Carrillo and his team if possible.

Bailey’s moved my daughter from Memphis to Salt Lake City 2 years ago. When it was time for her to move back to Memphis, Bailey’s was our first and then only call to a moving company. They are exceptional. The move itself was well done. They packed, loaded, transported, and then unloaded. They also took care of shipping my daughter’s car.
Communications with our Bailey’s representative could not have been better. All phone calls and emails were answered quickly. Have no doubt, Bailey’s will do a good job. They will take care of your stuff and communication is great.
Cyndi was our contact for both moves. I can’t say enough good things about her. She is s fabulous.

Couldn’t be any worse. They schedule with a four hour window and then do not even have the courtesy to call and let you know that they are running 2 hours behind. Totally unacceptable. Then when I spoke with Kelly she states that «its no one’s fault» Really? You can’t even bother to call to let a customer know that you are not only going to miss the window, but then ask them to wait even longer? It is someone’s fault. Good customer service warrants at least a phone call to ask if I am still available. This is balony!

Like others — I think 1 star is way too many stars for these jokers.
We bought some appliances at Home Depot in NOVEMBER who subbed delivery to Bailey’s. The first delivery date available was Dec 20 — which was way out, but what are you gonna do? On the day however, the ill mannered children who brought the items actively looked for (and found) excuses not to do the promised installations of some of the items and attempted to drop off a damaged gas dryer. We refused delivery of the damaged dryer and were told to expect a call to reschedule delivery within 72 hours. Call never came. I had to call home depot who reported a day two weeks out — well into JANUARY at this point. The day before the new delivery, I hadn’t got a call and attempted to find out if or when they were coming — When I finally got through the multiple dropped calls — the time I was given was extremely inconvenient and there was nothing poor Bailey’s could do about it. The only solution they had was to move the delivery out another week.
I think the kids Bailey’s hires probably damaged the dryer — either that or they accepted a dryer without inspecting it — And I’m being asked to pay for their mistake. I suggest they hire competent adults who understand customer service and more importantly take responsibility for their mistakes and at least offer some flexibility when they are the ones who screw up.
Avoid these idiots if you can. They’ll happily screw you.

I can’t say enough good things about Bailey’s Moving and Storage. I saw their team in action all day yesterday and they were amazingly fast and efficient. In addition they were cheerful, patient and hugely self-​motivated: coming up with solutions and generally helping us problem-​solve the situation. I’ll call them next time, and every time.

Wow … I’m surprised by the negative reviews. We’ve now used Bailey’s twice in the past two years for our moves across a few states and have had a great experience both times. Granted, my husband’s company paid for and coordinated both moves, but we’ve been extremely satisfied. Two years ago, Shane and his crew moved us from Wyoming to Reno, NV. They did an outstanding job. Very professional and fun. And everything was packed so well, we had no issues at all.
We recently found ourselves moving again — from Reno to Denver — and we got a new crew led by Jake. The first day he brought two packers, and they were super efficient, professional, and friendly. They were respectful of our home and our household goods, and we really enjoyed being around them. The second day we had two different people to load the truck — and I’d recognized them as the guys who helped unload us two years earlier. Super nice guys, very hard-​working, efficient, and friendly. We bought lunch for both crews each day, and they were very grateful. These guys all busted their tails for us. I would highly recommend them.

Key take-​aways: Don’t use Bailey’s and don’t rely on a moving company to ship any necessary items, no matter how heavy they are.
Contract for moving signed on ⁹⁄₃. Delivery contracted for 10÷19−10÷22 for household items and a car shipment (separate, but both coordinated through Bailey’s).
All clothing, shoes, and safes were transported on ⁹⁄₁₄ via our two cars and I did not ask for a revised (lowered) estimate with wardrobe boxes and labor removed.
Signed rental contract on ¹⁰⁄₁₃ for move-​in on ¹⁰⁄₁₉ in order to receive household items.
Items and car packed on ¹⁰⁄₁₄ and loaded on ¹⁰⁄₁₅ as promised.
Legacy delivered car on ¹⁰⁄₁₇ and driver demanded $ 500 in cash for delivery, later reimbursed.
Contacted Kasey at Bailey’s on ¹⁰⁄₁₈ to correct my address for the fourth time (once to Bailey’s as an update, once to Legacy for car delivery, once to Legacy driver, and again to Bailey’s for itemized paperwork filled out upon packing and loading) and requested a refined ETA if possible as delivery could come as early as the next day and no updates were available online (
).
Received email on ¹⁰⁄₁₈ at 2:30pm (Friday) from Sonya in customer service stating that delivery will be delayed as they do not have a driver available until ¹⁰⁄₂₆. Delivery won’t be until at least ¹⁰⁄₂₉.
Worked with Cyndi in Bailey’s customer service on alternate options for at least the 1300lb toolbox, which was required for employment (employment start date was contracted for ¹⁰⁄₂₂)
Cyndi contacted me on ¹⁰⁄₂₁ to say that the toolbox was unloaded from the warehouse and will be on a truck that day with delivery promised by 1pm on ¹⁰⁄₂₃.
Call received on ¹⁰⁄₂₃ from «dispatcher» stating that toolbox will not arrive and they do not know where the toolbox is. Call-​back was promised and never occurred.
I worked with Vickie P at Allied and Cyndi at Bailey’s on ¹⁰⁄₂₃ and was notified that toolbox was never loaded and remained in warehouse in Salt Lake.
Cyndi worked with company that promised to deliver the toolbox to get the toolbox overnight shipped with a promise that it will arrive on ¹⁰⁄₂₄ by 3pm. It arrived by 3pm on ¹⁰⁄₂₄. My husband is fortunately, thankfully employed.
Cyndi and I communicated about household goods and she let me know that she spoke with a North American driver who can likely get the items to our house by ¹⁰⁄₂₈.
Driver again had my wrong address and I corrected it. Driver arrived on ¹⁰⁄₂₈ with all household goods. Damage was incurred at packaging stage on one headboard and a claim was filed on ¹⁰⁄₂₈ (don’t try to send them a link to your exact item– they use their own averages). Delay claim form emailed to Vickie P on ¹⁰⁄₂₈.
A letter arrived from Evan M at Allied on ¹¹⁄₅ stating that ~$ 500 of my ~1300 reasonably spent dollars would be reimbursed because their two reimbursement options cannot accommodate our unique situation. I voiced my concern about this to Vickie P who stated that no further reimbursement would be approved and I asked to work with her supervisor who also confirmed no further reimbursement would be issued.
Essentially, we were expected to live in a new rental place that had a move-​in date concordant with the expected arrival of our things, sleep on the floor with no blankets, not buy dishes or linens, and eat out for every meal (which would be reimbursed at 50%, but don’t get smart and try to get groceries– not reimbursed) until our delivery arrived.
Unbelievable.

If you do not care when your goods arrive and the fact that the company misinforms you or fails to inform you during the moving process, then by all means use Bailey’s (which is associated with Allied Van lines so this review pertains to them as well). A recent move proved to be a terrible experience for my mother who suffered through horrendous customer service throughout the moving process. In fact, when Allied contacted her after the move to see whether she would recommend them, she replied with a resounding «No!». Did the interviewer inquire as to why or show any concern? Not in the least. Typical of the service. Even the Bailey’s rep acknowledged that this move was not acceptable. So if you are looking for a mover, look elsewhere for sure! Maybe moving tech equipment is all they are capable of doing well and without complaint!

I’ve used Bailey’s twice now for datacenter equipment moves and both times they’ve done it quickly and efficiently.
They show up with big trucks and big polynesians, wrap the racks in cellophane, and load them on the truck. I’ve left most of the equipment/​servers in the rack, pulling just enough so that it’s not too top-​heavy. And they bring big wooden equipment carts for all the odd and ends. All with just a couple days notice.
They also bring floor protection so the rack casters don’t leave marks, which is nice.
I don’t know about their rates or the billing process, I haven’t had to deal with that. But for moving heavy equipment fast, I have no complaint.

Bought a new GE refrigerator which Bailey’s delivered. They put ruts in my brand new hardwood floors! Then denied it and refused to pay for it.
Horrible!

I have moved cross country 6 times and this was by far the worst. It still makes me angry.
Let’s see… they showed up late with guys who were thinner than me and needed smoke breaks every 10 minutes, claimed they would need a second truck although I had not been told that by the guy who did the estimate, broke an antique table right in front of me before they even got it out of the house and then tried to hide it, took over 9 hours to load the truck when I’d been told it would be 5 at most, gouged my husband’s desk, broke our carved bed headpiece, showed up late to deliver, tried to force me to sign that all boxes had been delivered when they had not, dragged the claims process out for 5 months even though I paid for full coverage… that’s not all but it’s enough.
I will say that the packers were very fast and effieicent and everything they did was great.
Suffice it to say that I would never ever ever use them again or even recommend them to my worst enemy. OK, I might do that but not to anyone I even remotely liked.

This was my first move (december 2008), and I went with Bailey’s because they were contracted through my new employer. I was moving from the midwest to Utah. Basically, they had very poor communication, the driver pressured me into signing something that I should not have signed, and they lost some irreplaceable items.
Here is a short list of my frustrations
1) They grossly overestimated the cost of the move, on the scale of 3x what the actual cost was. Although my employer was reimbursing most of the move, I needed more accurate numbers for planning purposes and to manage my budget. They do this because they are contracted by my employer to not exceed the price listed. However, the numbers they quoted were almost ridiculous and complicated all other moving plans and expenses.
2) Despite assurances from the move coordinator and repeated requests I had made to be informed about what day and time packers and movers would arrive, I was not notified in advance. Instead, three men showed up at 8 AM ready to pack. My family was still in pajamas and midbreakfast, which was a bit embarassing.
3) The delivery was 4 days outside of the window that they had given as an estimate. The driver kept extending his estimate each day, so we spent about a week sitting on the floor waiting for our furniture to arrive.
4) The driver finally arrived at 8PM on a mid-​winter saturday night. When he arrived, he said ‘Yeah, we’ve been driving through a big mess. I left my dog in Salt Lake City and didn’t know it was going to take this long. Anyway, we can either spend three hours standing out in the freezing cold and doing inventory, or you can sign this and we can get you your stuff.” Me: «What if something is missing?» Him: «Nothing will be missing». I signed, reluctantly. Yes, that was my bad, but that was inappropriate pressure from him.
5) Two large boxes, one of which had an irreplaceable family heirloom, were missing. Bailey’s will not honor the claim. Suffices to say, we will not use Bailey’s again. I strongly, strongly discourage others from using them.
