History

Established in 1980.

I am a Massachusetts licensed acupuncturist and a Diplomate of Acupuncture of the National Commission for the Certification of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine. I graduated from the New England School of Acupuncture in 1980, where I studied acupuncture and traditional Chinese herbal medicine. I opened my acupuncture practice in September, 1980, out of a desire to provide a compassionate, effective healthcare alternative and complementary care in the Pioneer Valley. I have maintained an acupuncture practice in the Pioneer Valley of western Massachusetts since 1980, with offices in Northampton, MA, and Cummington, MA. I welcome the opportunity to work with you.

I graduated from the New England School of Acupuncture in 1980, where I studied acupuncture and traditional Chinese herbal medicine. I completed internships with Dr. James Tin Yao So and Dr. Ted Kaptchuk, and also worked at the Pain and Stress Relief Clinic at Lemuel Shattuck Hospital, Boston, serving as Senior Staff Acupuncturist. I was also Staff Acupuncturist at the Worthington Health Center in Worthington, MA.

Currently I am a member of the Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine Society of Massachusetts (AOMSM), and held the positions of President and Vice President of the Massachusetts Acupuncture Society, the predecessor of the AOMSM, between 1986 and 1989. I have maintained an acupuncture practice in the Pioneer Valley of western Massachusetts since 1980.

Prior to studying acupuncture, I was a student in the Neurosciences at Tufts University earning a Bachelor Science degree in Biology in 1972.
