History
Established in 2012.
The Julia Poppins School of Cooking began with a simple question from an after-school companion to her eleven year old charge:
«Your parents are going to be late and want me to get dinner started. Want to help?»
By the time the girl’s parents had come home, cooking teacher Dane Kuttler and her first student had finished a simple meal of roasted pork chops and brussels sprouts. The student’s work mostly focused on learning how to use a large, sharp knife correctly as she tentatively guarded her fingers from the blade. But she was hooked, and the family was impressed with the meal. They called the teacher «a mix of Julia Child and Mary Poppins» — and JPSC was born.
Today, the Julia Poppins School of Cooking teaches anyone between the ages of 10 – 100 how to feel comfortably in charge of their kitchen. Business Owner
Dane Kuttler has been teaching people to cook in their own homes for six years.
She has worked with children for over ten years, and has always combined her love of kids with her love of food.
While she’s never cooked in a restaurant, she’s cooked for many a crowd. Nothing scares her. Her motto, borrowed from a popular spice company is «Love people. Cook them tasty food.»
