Why don’t more restaurants know what real Veal Parmigiana is? They sure do here! I live 3 hours from this place in Chatham, Cape Cod, and would drive there again for their food. Outstanding, plentiful, tasty, and traditional. Love it!

My fiancé and I wanted to try somewhere new in hamp for Valentines Day. We had tried to grab a bite here a while ago but they were booked and the wait was too long. Defiantly recommend making a reservation. We lucked out and were given a booth in the back room. Which was perfect. I am not a big wine drinker but was referred to try a new type that I absolutely loved — by our waiter Jeremy, Prosecco — a sparkling wine. Highly recommend if you are a Moscato fan btw. Anyways, we got the bruschetta and calamari. Can not stress enough how fresh the basil was! And both my fiancé and I got steak entrees which by then we could barely eat a ¼ of it since we crushed our apps but the steaks were cooked perfectly. Lastly, we took home two cannoli’s which didn’t last too late into the night! Would highly recommend this place for a an amazing night out. We will be going back for sure!

Try a different Italian restaurant. This place has gone drastically down hill in the past years. We use to go to the one in downtown Springfield regularly and then tried the one in Noho a couple years ago. We went the first time and it was okay, not as good as the orginal but still okay. Every time we go we always get the brushetta and warm pasta salad(they took that off the menu now, huge mistake) and then for an entrée we get the chicken franchess. It used to be soooo good, the chicken was one piece of thick boneless breast topped with lemon sauce, cappers, herbs and spices, paired with great veggies and delicious potatoes. It was unreal. and lightly breaded and was just the . Now we go tonight and I can’t explain how disappointed we were with the direction this place is going. Regardless whether it’s management of the cook something needs to change. The warm pasta salad is off the menu, the brushetta is tasteless and the chicken was just awful. Instead of a nicely breaded chicken breast covered with lemon sauce and herbs an spices now you get like 4 chicken tenders breaded and soaked in sauce with no authentic Italian flavor besides lemon. Its just really sad to see such an awesome place to off the road. I’m guessing it’s a chef issue but judging by the time I went tonight I know we will not return here. Even the people next to us were mentioning the decline lately in the menu and taste. Place needs to get fixed or it’ll be no longer. There are much much better Italian options out there that would be the same price and be much more worth it.

The evening started out poor when we had to wait 1 ½ for a table when we had made a reservation for 7:30 and were not seated until 9:00. The calimari appetizer was all rings no tentacles and a bit on the bland side, our meals were adequate for an average restaurant and the service was good

Romantic atmosphere. They sometimes have good Groupon deals. Their fra diavolo was perfect. The sauce was on point and they provided a generous amount of scallops.

My fiancée and I have been here 6 or 7 times. Each time, we’ve had a GREATDININGEXPERIENCE. Food and service are top notch. It’s right across from the Tunnel Bar, voted one of the coolest bars in the US. If you go to Northampton and you’re looking to have a solid meal, go to Mulino’s.

This place is a gem, you would never expect to walk in to a joint like this given the building it is in or the area it is located but that is what makes it so cool and a real testament to the creativeness of Northampton. With that I had the Penne a la lalalala-sepi, or something along those lines. It was very good however it was a butter, lemon, wine sauce and was a bit too thing and didn’t stick to the penne as well as it could’ve. Perhaps some butter dredged in flour to thicken it up would’ve really made it delicious but I am thinking in terms of what I would like rather than the rest of the diners and people may like it as such. The waitress was very friendly and helpful and assisted us with the wine choice which came to be a very good one at that. The prices are fantastic and the wait wasn’t too long. It seems however they do get a bit stingy with the bread providing two small rolls and we of course asked for more, it did however come out hot and wonderful. I’m not one to beg for free bread but given how good they are, one roll is just a tease Mr./Mrs. Mulino? Anyway I digress, very cool Italian atmosphere, great busy staff, decent foods make a great place to bring a date or friends or family.

The gorgonzola bread and caesar salad were great as usual. The bolognese was bland but decent. Service was interesting but helpful.

We called ahead at 7:15 and were find it was an hour wait. We got there and were told they were running about 25 – 30 minutes behind. I looked at the dining room and there were a few big parties, and being in the business I know big parties will KILL your wait time. We went upstairs for a few drinks and we were called to our table at 8:15. Our server was great! We split the Capresea salad. I got the Filet with Gorgonzola and mushroom risotto. The steak was perfect and the risotto AMAZING. My husband got the Chicken Marsala, and he loved it. The appetizer, meal and drinks were under $ 70. It was a great night out.

My friends and I frequent this spot all the time. They usually have Groupons and we usually wait and go for those. They’ve also got great weeknight deals. Their chicken parm is amazing. Also, their bolognese is out of this world! It’s the best I’ve had in a long time. The prices are fair and the service is usually good. Will definitely be back!

Went there last night and a few other times and it’s been great every time! Had about an hour wait on a Saturday night, even though she said about 35. I was getting anxious when we were waiting for an hour now, maybe because I was very hungry by that point. Make sure to try their Chicken Marsala(even thought they were out of mashed potatoes twice in the row that I’ve gone there, pretty disappointing) or any of the raviolis, and the crème brûlée to finish it off, delish. We got lucky with outdoor seating which was great too :) Overall, it was a great experience! Recommended !

I went to this restaurant, nice atmosphere. But Thats it. I waited 1 ½ almost 2 hours to sit, this is normally a sign of a good place to eat, well it was they forgot we were sitting in the upstairs bar. I had people come in after us and brought down to the dining room before us. I went to the host and he could not find us … then of course we had to wait longer.. never did I hear the words sorry !!! Finally we had dinner. I Don’t know why we stayed, I was so upset it killed the whole dining experience. The food was fine, portion a little small, the waiter was good. I was still so upset at what a bad experience we had I sent a letter to the owner, naturally we never received a reply. That’s very bad business and I will never go there ever again and I tell all my friends not to go there also.

I came to Mulino’s for my friend’s graduation dinner. The food is simply delicious and the set up of the restaurant is very classy. A must try!

I consider this«diner Italian.» Not authentic Italian. Very large portions that are heavy on the sauces yet still bland.

Mulinos is my girlfriend and I’s go to Valentines day restaurant going on 3 years now. The food is great and the staff is attentive. The restaurant is small but doesn’t feel crowded and has great atmosphere for a romantic dinner.

Really good food. The staff was very nice and the outside terrace was beautiful. Would of never of known about it if we didn’t get a groupon as a gift. I would love to go back.

Been eating here since they opened over by iron horse. Used to be great. Then on. Then they had a grumpy groupon phase where they were trying to be cheap Italian. I haven’t been in a while and went with my wife a could of weeks ago and it was great!

On the advice of my client, I drove from Westfield, MA up to Northampton and had dinner at Mulino’s on Strong Avenue, just off Main Street and near the rail tracks. Mulino’s is on the second floor of the restored Baystate Hotel building with the Sierra Grill downstairs, and Bishop’s Lounge Bar up on the third level. Other Unilocal reviewers seem to either love or hate this place, so I wasn’t sure what to expect. From the outside the building has a lot of architectural charm with the old brick and stone façade. Once in the front door you climb a set of stairs(or take the elevator) up to second-floor restaurant. The décor was very classic old school Italian, and the restaurant was dark with some soft jazz playing in the background. So far, so good! The waitress was terrific and she talked me through the nightly specials, and also gave me some recommendations as I waffled over a few choices. With her help I ordered the lnsalata Mesclun to start, which was Mesclun greens dressed with red wine vinegar and extra virgin olive oil. Grated Parmigiano and Romano cheese, carrots, red onions, cherry tomatoes and cucumbers. That came with a basket of warm bread, and I also ordered a glass of house Merlot(appropriately named«Fat Bastard» which gave me quite a chuckle). For my main course I had one of the specialties of the house which was called Rompi Campo. That turned out to be grilled salmon, artichoke hearts, roasted red peppers, mesclun greens and mushrooms sautéed in extra virgin olive oil, garlic, basil, tomato and a splash of balsamico, tossed with fettuccine and grated parmigiano. *insert serious yummy sounds here* Fortunately I had a great experience at Mulino’s, and my food was delicious. Prices were a bit high, but nothing outrageous. There are plenty of nice-looking restaurants in the area, but I would definitely return to Mulino’s.
