Is your potential higher than your achievement? I have been helping learners achieve their goals for over two decades.

The Conscious Learner serves learners age 15 and up, in college, graduate school, high school and homeschool. I offer one-​on-​one tutoring in reading, writing, and thinking in the humanities and social sciences, coaching for those with attentional differences (ADD/​ADHD), and help with making the transition to college. The approaches are all thoroughly student-​centered, with the mission of igniting learners’ authoritative and creative participation. Conscious learners take full ownership of their educations, becoming self-​directed, resourceful, successful, life-​long learners.

History

Established in 2011.

Mark Vecchio has been a professional educator for over 20 years. He was the director of the Tutoring and Writing Center at Bard College at Simon’s Rock, as well as of the Sylvan Learning Center in Hadley, MA. He holds International Tutor Program Certification from the College Reading & Learning Association, and he is currently pursuing certification as an AD/​HD coach (expected early 2013).

Business Owner

Mark Vecchio has extensive experience as a college professor, professional tutor and academic advisor, helping learners form their educational objectives, discern their individual academic paths, and navigate their journeys in and beyond school. He has a firm grasp of attentional learning differences, as well as a strong track record of recognizing and working cooperatively with learners on subtle academic performance-​related issues. He earned his M.F.A. in Poetry at Brooklyn College, as well as a D.Univ. in Classics at the University of Kent at Canterbury.
