History

Established in 2010.

The Chicago Veterinary Emergency and Specialty Center in the Roscoe Village neighborhood of Chicago was joined by the Chicago Veterinary Specialty Group in 2010. A new 3 story specialty center was added on and the five new practices that comprise the Chicago Veterinary Specialty Group opened for business. Since opening, we have served countless pets and pet families. We are very proud of the good work we’ve accomplished in Chicago and have grown so quickly that we opened a satellite center in Northbrook, IL.

The Northbrook location currently services pets and pet families in need of neurological care. It is our sincerest hope that families are not only satisfied with the outstanding care their pets will receive, but that we will become their number one trusted resource where their precious pets are concerned.

We are currently servicing pets and pet families Wednesday thru Friday.

My regular vet referred my dog Kevin here so he could have an MRI. I called to talk to the vet before bringing in Kevin so I could ask some questions about the cost of the MRI, what it would show and how that would affect treatment, etc. because the MRI would cost $ 1700-​$ 2200.
The receptionist seemed to enjoy being a barrier — she told me that she could answer my questions, not the doctor. When I asked one she couldn’t answer, she said she GUESSED she could put in a message but she didn’t know if «he» would be willing to talk to me. Six hours later she called back to say he wouldn’t do a phone consultation for a dog he hadn’t met. I tried to explain that I wasn’t looking for a consultation, just some information to help me understand what would happen if I brought Kevin in. I just wanted to ask the vet a couple of questions. She said, with a big smile in her voice, «Oh, he’s not going to do that.»
My twelve-​year-​old beloved dog just had two strokes. I’m glad I won’t be bringing him to a veterinary office with such a clear lack of compassion for animals as well as humans. Stay far away.
