Good organization, great selection of stuff and i love shipping here. BUT. no changing table in the restroom. I mean, how is there no changing station in the restroom? It was messy too. I ended up having to change the baby on the counter between the sinks.

Just got snobbed out by a clerk at the check-​out! Horrible service. Brrrrrrrrrr…

I like Home Goods, and I have shopped there for many years at different locations. I think the quality has declined since I last redecorated in 2009 and shopped there heavily (not this location — an East coast one). The old stuff truly seemed like high end over-​stock from other stores, but the newer stuff seems like it is made for HG… and just not the same quality as they used to have (though every now & then, you see something to contradict what I just said — like a $ 60 Gucci candle… I doubt they were made for HG!) But, I have a $ 7 fake-​Jade intricately carved turtle & a gorgeous triple matted painting (for $ 30) along with a vase that easily could’ve been $ 300 from a department store — all from the old HG… and I’ve yet to see that level of quality/​discount in the newer stores on average. I’ve actually bought a few things & they just didn’t look right once I got them home because they were basically spray painted aluminum (candle holders, vases, etc).
The Northbrook location is less crowded and messy than the Elston location in Chicago. Also, I think the artwork is significantly better. Elston has more pet stuff, and they also have better soaps (the same $ 9 French soap at Whole Foods for $ 5 — total surprise because I love this soap — a la Maison).
Like others said, sometimes you leave with nothing — and other times you might accidentally spend $ 200 (when you came in for some gift wrap) because there can be things that are way too good to pass up. Speaking of gift wrap, I just bought the best little gift bags for the holiday season. They were $ 1.49 and clearly would be $ 7.99 at Walgreens or more at a specialty store. I was amazed at the quality of them being glitter coated on one side and nicely designed with cute winter snowmen. I will post a pic if I can, later. There are always little things like this on good days. They have a great section of small gifts too like little puzzles and things like that. It’s a good place to stop in for the holidays even if you already have gifts in mind. They have a lot of fun add-​on stuff for $ 5 – 10.

I had a horrible experience at this HomeGoods. I purchased a «universal» shower head for less than $ 20.00. The one question I asked the sales associate prior to purchase is «How can I be sure it will work?» The associate explained that if the label said «universal», it should fit all. When I went home and attempted to install this «universal» product, it did not fit. I brought back the product but apparently the associate doing the returns owns stock in HomeGoods because she refused to even give me store credit. Dawn the manager came up and just brushed me off saying there was nothing that could be done. She didn’t even want to hear my explanation about how the sales associate told me it would work.
I sent a message to HomeGoods through their website and never got a response. Even getting a «That is our policy» would have made me think that they cared.
Stay home and shop on Amazon.

Okay so I’m definitely a fan of home goods and it’s like a Target for me, I come in looking for one thing and end up leaving with a cart full of serious damage and my credit cards not too happy with me. It is seriously one of the better home good stores in the northwest suburbs as I’ve been to a few and this one I just love. First of all, it’s not super crowded where there’s literally room to breath and move around without feeling like the store is going to crawl up on you. I think it’s really organized as I know the vases are in their section, bathroom stuff is where it needs to be, wall art and décor is to the left, so I can always find what I need when I’m looking for something specific. The selection is amazing, anytime I need a last minute gift and I need something in particular, I always know that this store will have what I’m looking for and then some.
I seriously think the prices are very fair and a lot better than even my favorite and beloved Target so if you’re on a budget, this is the place to go and it’s so much better than any garage sale since everything here is new and in nearly perfect condition. Last time I was here I bought new dinner plates, a kids step stool that looked like something I could have found in pottery barn kids, but this one was way more reasonable in prices, I bought new candles, a bathroom rug, tons of gift bags of all sorts of sizes and colors and a new painting for my walk in closet (yes, i needed that as well). I just think this place really has it all and I can spend hours looking through stuff. I don’t normally buy clothes here so I’m not really sure if I can comment on the selection but anything household related, this is the place to be.
I love it and can’t wait to go back and back since I love that they always have new stuff coming in. And your favorites also sell fast, so think twice before you pass something by. Whenever, you’re bored and have time to kill, come here and time will fly by.

Great home items and decent selection but the service is consistently horrible. Long lines and rarely more than one or two cashiers. I don’t get it. I just waited 20, yes 20 minutes to check out. If I didn’t need what I was getting I would have gone home and ordered on Amazon.

I love Homegoods and have been to this location many times, as well as other locations too. I think this is the best location in the area — maybe it’s the biggest too? Whatever the case is, I consistently find cute stuff here, especially seasonal items like Christmas cookie cutters in the winter and melamine outdoor serveware in the summer.
I love the variety of things they have with everything from dish towels to cocktail drink mixes to dog beds to storage baskets in one place. I could see where some people would not like that you kind of have to go through the items to find stuff, and sometimes, they might only have one of something (like a plate you like), but if that kind of stuff doesn’t deter you, Homegoods is the place to go.
Oh, and if you ever need a last minute gift, I can always find something here.

One of the best home goods stores in the northwest suburbs. Great selection, very good brands offered, very organized store and great service. I think it’s geared towards the northbrook crowd, and I like that because it provides a nice product selection.
You can find anything from kitchen needs, home lighting, bedding, to specialty foods.
Go there, you won’t be disappointed.

So it was my first time in a Home Goods store. I didn’t know what to expect other than I expected it to be a little more exciting. I mean the commercials just make you want to march right in there and buy everything!
So, here’s what I think. It’s kind of a mix between World Market, it smells like Pier One Imports and reminds me of the sale aisles at Target, Michael’s and JoAnn Fabrics. It’s a mish mosh of things. For example you’ll find baby stuff mixed in with pet goods mixed in with cooking utensils and pots and pans. The bed linen department looks pretty decent too. There was a nice collection of throw pillows, though, I’m not one for things that aren’t packaged in plastic if I’m going to lay my head and face on them.
For the steal, I think the rugs are the best deal going! Some are better quality than others, but I did see a few decent 8×10 rugs for $ 200. Pretty good price if you ask me. Dining chair for $ 200 or huge rug? I know what I would choose.
Other than that, I might be back for some cookie sheets!
Overall, it’s just A-​OK!

This is going to be the THIRD AD REVIEW on the disgusting MANAGER of this store. He is RUDE, SARCASTIC, AND CONDESCENDING ! — I bought an area rug and when I put it on my wood floor it began to unravel and shed literally hundreds of pieces of the long shag wool individual pieces all over my wood floors. If the window was opened it flew the piece all over the place. It was not in a high traffic area in my house, I have no small children or pets. IT was DEFECTIVE. I lost the receipt but called after the FIRST day to tell them that my husband was very ill and in the hospital, and that I could not bring the carpet back immediately. Well, my husband passed away, and it took three weeks after the funeral to get the carpet back. The manager implied that I did not get it at the store, even though I had called 3 weeks earlier, and there was 2 more rugs just like the one I had. He brought up another male worker, and ganged up on me smirking at the front of the store, actually smiling when I told them of my husbands death, and that I couldn’t find the receipt, or for that matter function well at all in any capacity. After ONE HOUR of going back and forth, he offered a one hundred dollar credit, even though I paid more than that. I picked out a different rug that was not a shag, and the other male employee came over and shook the rug and with a smirk said «this one will shed also — look » well, it was only dust that shook off, not the fabric. I have never seen such horrible customer service– EVER ! I was a big fan of this store, but I will NEVER go back there unless these people are GONE !

Come here when you have the patience to look through everything.
Often enough, the store is in a state of casual disarray.
I believe there are good deals here but I haven’t had the patience yet to go elbow to elbow with others to pick out the best bargain.
Sometimes I wish there were staff members nearby to assist with questions but to get a good deal, sometimes you have to be left alone to keep those prices down.

I came here looking for the $ 8 sports bras that Candice G snapped up. I did not find any… but what I did stumble across was a pretty hilarious collection of home décor products. Now, I can host people at home because I can buy a ton of very large plates, or cake stands, or chalices. I will come back, armed with a list of things I need in the kitchen, and shop my heart out in an incredibly wallet-​friendly fashion.
I looked at every single shelf at the store and had such a great time (bring a friend). I’ll call this my reconnaissance mission to plan for future shopping trips, but I simply couldn’t resist leaving with this adorable little painting I found of a dachshund being walked by someone in heels. The price tag on this little weiner dog art gem? $ 7! Totally made up for the lack of $ 8 sports bras. Dachshunds forever!

This is some pretty major news considering there’s a Whole Foods AND Half Price Books right next door that I patronize on the reg, yet have never taken the time to walk the 40 more paces to stop in here under the school of thought that HomeGoods only sold goods for the home.

As fate would have it, one day I was drawn in. Drawn in to the deals… but mostly the deals o SPORTS BRAS! (superexcited)
And they’re not just the sh*tty Spaulding kind of sports bras either. They’ve got some real heck-​of-​a-​deal, quality over the shoulder boulder holders and I simply could not be more thrilled. Usually I’ll go to Target, get the $ 16-​$ 18 ones and feel supported but also feel like I’d probably rather have gotten a two orders of Spicy Basil from my favorite Thai place. Then I weigh it out– Thai food, or saggy chi chas. Thai food, or saggy chi chas. :doing the up and down justice scale thing with my hands:
It’s a tough call. I mean, normally I put Thai food above all else but then I have to take a step back and think about what I really truly have going for me in life.
Candice– are you business savvy? No.
Are you decent at math, reading, or music? No.
Are you a natural beauty? No.
Can you tell your right and left hand apart without holding out both hands to see which makes the ‘L’ for left? No
Do you have breasts? Hyup and hyup!
Well, that should be enough… at least to a point. Anything beyond that and you’re gonna want a sports bra to keep those Ts looking as double Decent as nature (and elasticity) will allow. I enjoy this HomeGoods because I don’t have to choose between food and decent active wear. Shopping here ensures I can have both.

I was just treated very poorly by the General Manager of this store and I will not be returning until I’m informed he is no longer there. I went in to return a framed picture I purchased from the store 11 days ago. A few days after I got the picture home I went to hang it up, took off the paperboard corner cover on the top right hand corner and realized there was a 4 inch crack in the frame. I went into the store today to hopefully exchange it for another that wasn’t broken, but they didn’t have another so I asked for a refund (the policy is 30 days to get a refund with a receipt and I had the receipt and it was well under 30 days). The nice young man working the register got the GM and he started questioning me about why I hadn’t returned it sooner, «Most people would return this right away if it was broken when they got it home. This leads me to believe you broke it.» I explained that I didn’t live nearby, had been traveling for work the last week and had just now been able to make the time to return it, he continued to give me a hard time, implying that I broke it. I reminded him it had only been 11 days and that I would have wanted another if available, but he continued to be extremely rude. He did eventually return the money to me, but told me that if it happened again I would not get a refund. Well, it will not happen again, because I will never again give his store my business. I have never been treated so poorly as a customer. I have nothing against Homegoods as a company, everyone makes hiring mistakes.

Came here the other day looking for some furniture for a screened-​in porch and a sisal rug. No luck on the furniture front, but we did find a rug we liked– although it came in a nonstandard size, a bit smaller than we were originally looking for. And at a much, much better price than similar rugs at Pottery Barn or Restoration Hardware!
The only thing was, the place was understaffed, and the employees who were there seemed to have very little experience. Everyone who was working there kept asking each other questions and favors; meanwhile customers were waiting in long lines for assistance. One employee even abandoned the customer service desk with a line of people there!
Still, we got what we were looking for at a very decent price, even if we had to wait a long while to do just that. Can’t really complain too much!

I wanted to buy everything I saw. I started to pick up things I didn’t even need. Story of my life, let me tell you. Lots to choose from for decorating purposes. Lots of great colors in things, awesome accent pieces, fun and chic dining ish, etc.
I find that this specific Home Goods (haven’t been to others so I can’t speak for the lot of them) is a much cleaner, more organized environment than your typical TJMaxx. I appreciate cleaner and more organized. Don’t know about you.
Very reasonable prices. Some things even fall into the ‘amazing prices’ category. Hott.

I find it more organized than lots of the TJMaxx/​Marshalls places and the selection is great.
Even if I only plan on running in for one thing, I do end up going down all the aisles. We were able to pick up a few of the items we registered for at other stores at Home Goods for like half the price. You have to be willing to dig around a little bit, or make repeat visits if you’re looking for something particular, but the discounts are worth it usually!

I love this place. They have all sorts of wonderful home goods at discount prices. It’s located in the Willow Festival Shopping Center. Minus 1 star since there just seems to be too much stuff that some items are either on the floor (which can be hard to maneuver with your shopping cart) or was just dumped on the shelves. Otherwise, if you are looking for household items or other gift ideas, this is a good place to shop. Lenox, Le Creuset, home decors, furniture and so much more!
