49 Skokie Blvd. Northbrook IL60062 Worst customer service ever. I just attempted to return 3 articles of clothing to this store with tags still attached & the receipt. Total was less than $ 75. The clerk at the checkout advised me that I was past 30 days. Fair enough, all I wanted was a store credit, I didn’t want money back. She can’t do that. She points to the bottom of the receipt, & says Store Return Policy states«other restrictions apply» on the bottom of the receipt. What restrictions? Where is it posted? How is the customer to know? I asked for the store manager. Manager came up. No, he won’t give me store credit«the items are not in the system for this store». I have the receipt AND the tags are attached. He then said, «I can’t verify that these tags belong to these products.» He walked away from the checkout & headed for the back office! What!!! Did you just accuse me of trying to scam the store!!! And you left me standing at the register!!! If ANY Store Manager in my current company treated a customer in this manner, they would be disciplined & probably wouldn’t be holding that title or position for long. I’ve been in Management for a major retail chains for over 25 years. What ever happened to making sure the customer leaves happy? I truly can’t believe that your company would risk the potential of bad press for less than $ 75. I’m appalled as to how I was treated. I plan on letting EVERYONE I know what happened at this location, how you treat customers, & how uncustomer friendly your return policy is.

I love TJ Maxx stores, but the Northbrook location has the rudest employees I have come across compared to other TJM stores. I was yelled at by a cashier because I returned two items on the same receipt at two different times. She wanted to know why I didn’t make it easier on her by returning them together on the same day. What? The North Shore clientele is tough, I grew up there. Regardless, if you can’t be civil, go home for the day. On the other hand, the merchandise is good quality with good prices. That is why I will continue to shop at TJM, but at the Evanski location where the staff is friendly.

WARNING! If you are thinking purchasing men’s Polo brand shirts think again. I’ve purchased three shirts, separate occasions, long, short and polo style and each one had a surprising discoloration after first couple washes. And no it wasn’t the washing machine… all my other shirts are fine. Seems that the Polo shirts are irregular and have discolorations that don’t appear from being washed regularly. Never again.

I’m picky about my clothes. When considering a purchase, the garment in question must satisfy three criteria: 1. Is it affordable? 2. Is it stylish? 3. Is it durable? Affordable clothes aren’t that hard to find. However, most of the big-box stores(Target, Kohl’s, etc.) not only settle on cheaper fabrics, but they seem to have no concept of style. TJ Maxx, on the other hand, offers me exactly what I want. Reasonably priced, attractive clothing that doesn’t start falling apart after several spin cycles.

I have shopped at this location since the day it opened! My family and I in general are TJ Maxx addicts! We love it! I had the worst customer service experience tonight! I had bought my fiancé slippers that were too small. I went to return the slippers and an associate Zoya called me over to the register. She was super friendly and an AMAZING woman. She started the return only to notice that the shoes are 2 days over the 30 days return period. She was kind enough to inform me about the policy. I explained to her that I had these shoes in my car for this month and have not had a chance to go to the store. She kindly told me to wait and asked the store manager who was standing next to her, helping another customer. Once the store manager stopped helping the other customer, she came up to Zoya and Zoya asked her what we can do. With out even acknowledging me she directly looked at the recipe and said«no 30 days» and walked away. I found this type of service completely disrespectful and not customer friendly. Zoya then approached her again because I explained to her that I purchased it on my TJ Maxx credit card and am a loyal customer. The store manager made and acceptation. Although the item was refunded to the original form of payment I did not respect not like the lack of customer service that the store manager presented to me. She is not setting a good example for the other employees. Zoya was very patient and understanding. I appreciate her work and because of her I would return. Completely disgusted by the store managers behavior. Not likely to return to this located because of this incident.

Five stars for a TJMAXX? Yeah I’m surprised too! Wanted to compliment the super friendly staff for being so welcoming and helpful! Jewelry– thank you so much N for helping me with my purchase! Thank you for being patient, friendly and so nice! General Store– thank you to the younger taller employee for going out of her way to get me a cart! Also thank you for helping me find the cutest giftcard! Great selection, excellent price points and the most helpful and positive employees! Northbrook TJMAXX def made me a happy customer today :)

Pretty decent selection and bigger than the old site in Deerbrook mall. Just not as great of deals as I remember from TJ. Burlington seems better priced with a better selection. Staff is pretty much what to expect with no one actively seeking to help customers, no smiles, just people doing inventory
