Andre/​Pierre– went above and beyond to assist me with two boots i had that looked like they were beyond repair. The heels were missing on one from wear and tear and the other i lost the bottom some how. He was very fair with his pricing of fixing them and made sure my two pairs of boots will last for quite a long time and gave me the best price and making them look like new with the coat he put on them. I wanted it the next week but he finished them the next day at no additional price. Thank you so much!

This place doesn’t even deserve one star. Took boots in to for heel and sole replacement. Boots came back with taps nailed on to heel and sole. One of the nails could be felt through the boot. Way overcharged for terrible service. Also, one week turned into three weeks. Every time I stopped by, owner was sitting in lobby playing a game with another man.

Don’t go here. Did a Poor job replacing my heals and made me pay before he did the work.

I’m fortunate to have found Andre’s after my old shoe repairman retired. I tried some local (Glendale, Westwood) shoe repair stores recommended by Nordstrom but their repairs/​resole jobs were inferior to my old shoeman. Andre’s was able to stretch 30 year old shoes to fit (size 10 to an 11), resole vibram type shoes which Allen Edmonds would not redo even at $ 125, find matching leather straps for an expensive purse and restore/​refinish a half dozen other shoes to like new condition. I am extremely pleased with his workmanship. He is very diligent in providing quick service. Some people do not realize it takes some time to do repairs and alterations. Stretching shoes takes the longest so as not to damage the leather. It took two weeks for a whole size increase. I’ve seen boots in his store take months to gain several sizes but they looked great afterwards.
He has an old time craftsman disposition and charges a fair price for the amount of labor involved. I hope he can stay in business for a long time.

I am been born and raised in Northridge and have lived here for my entire 54 years of age. Andre’s Shoe Repair has been here at this location for 35 years+. It was originally a family run business with the father running it and the sons working for him. Pierre has taken it over from his father and has kept the same fine quality of service that his father started all those years ago. Pierre is very personable and professional. He was taught by the old masters. His service is of the highest quality. The materials he uses are of the highest quality too. Whether it is leather patch work, soles, or various types of finish like dyes, waxing or waterproofing it is the highest quality. Pierre’s an expert craftsman. He can take an old pair of cowboy boots that are broken in just right and restore them without losing the worn in appeal, or he can take a new pair of shoes that were damaged and make them look brand new again. He is also very fast too. I don’t think anyone else can be quicker to return your shoes back to you. He is also the most inexpensive by far, then anyone else you will find. He sometimes throws in extra stuff too without charge! He will ask you to bring in your shoes so he can give you an honest appraisal, but if you don’t mind doing that, you will be pleasantly pleased by the outcome! I say give Andre’s Shoe Repair a try, you will be happy you did!

Dear Lord where do I begin, I was forewarned by a relative who during her years at Csun had a bad experience. However I love giving local business a fair shot so I had an emergency where my Calvin Klein leather boots made a click sound it only was a small job so I took the chance going to Andres. He always gives me a card when I’m in my fave print copy shop also in his shopping center or if I’m in rite aid so I thought I can get a replacement cap slapped on by him. Omg he rambled about it would be $ 30 because he’s going to polish and condition them and he’s the best etc
He said I have so much mileage left on my boots and let him do the job right treat the whole boot not just put replacement cap on. When the boots were returned they looked fine from the naked eye he did shine them but I don’t care about that I wanted the cap on. The first day I tried wearing my boots again for some reason my legs no longer fit when I tried to zip them but all my other boots fit fine. Whatever product he used seemed to have shrunk my boot lmao wth also the cap fell off before I could even leave the house. Not to mention he shaved down the height of my heels I have never experienced such lowesy work and he is so intense when you speak to him he makes you feel uncomfortable and weird. I trashed the boots to say the least smh and they weren’t even that old and very expensive.

This guy was great he did a 30 dollar job on my moms shoes that needed to be re– healed for 10. Funny customer service being from a different culture, do ejem you go in There and you want the job done nice give him some time to explain to you what he’s going to do. He said he’s been in the business for 32 years and I believe him. Go here! :)

If shoe repair was an Olympic event. Pier would Take home the gold! Platinum even. Haha.
Yes he could use a little more charm, customer service (sucking up) and cleanness to the shop. But this man makes up for everything in his work. And in the end that’s all that matters. You can’t judge on first impressions sometimes. «good as new» it’s the work of a man dedicated and passionate about his work. You don’t find many of them left now a days.

I first took my Michael Kors purse to this shoe/​leather repair place because the leather handle became worn and looked bad. The owner Pierre used the finest leather and stitching to create new handles for me which in my opinion look better than the origional Michael Kors handles. He had a wide variety of leather colors and choices for me to choose from. His service is superb!!! He picked up my purse, shared with me a variety of leather swatches to choose from, completed the job in a timely manner and delivered the purse to me!!! WOW !! What service!!! I have since taken him my Designer pumps to replace the worn heels. I received the same extrodenary service. He picked them up, repaired them in a timely manner and delivered them to me. He also went above and beyond and polished my shoes for me so they looked brand new! His service is superb and his prices are reasonable!!! I wouldn’t go anywhere else. When you have found the best, why try the rest? !!! (:

This guy ruined my Jordan’s. He didn’t even have the decency to remove the excess glue that was applied.

Andres shoe repair did a very good job at a reasonable price on my Florsheim loafers. They felt more comfortable than when they were new. I would definitely give him my return business.

I had a really good experience. Took in a pair of boots to get reheeled and he did a little extra work to make them look ten times better (polished the leather and replaced the plastic heel with a longer lasting rubber one).

Sandra… I have known Pierre for many years and have been very happy with his work. Just had him do work on very expensive sandals that had what I felt a structural issue; he took care of the problem, and now I can wear them with a smile on my face! Great job!

Good quality repair, owner needs to re-​evaluate business methods. Good customer service is critical in our society, despite a great job on my boots I didn’t feel comfortable and the shop is a mess. He has few customers so why not use the time to clean up the tiny cluttered area filled with objects that all have dust on then it isn’t hard. Performed extra work on my boots without informing me it would cost more. I’d still do it but it’s the principle of asking. Also no receipt and cash only. He isn’t the one that did the repair. Sketchy. Maybe a front or something the place looks staged.

Wow. I don’t usually write Unilocal reviews, but I had to let everyone know what a jerk this guy is. Hadn’t even gone in there yet. Called for an estimate and he immediately started lecturing me on how he can’t give a quote without seeing the shoe. I was asking how much new tips for high heels normally cost, like a price range. He was so incredibly rude on the phone, I didn’t even bother letting him finish before just hanging up. Then I laughed to myself because it was so unbelievable. That’s not how you treat anyone, much less a potential customer! Don’t go here!!!

Whats up every body! I recently had a lot of shoes repaired. Literally. If you are a shoe lover like me then you may have a few Oldy But Goodie– shoes in your closet, that you can’t wear perhaps a strap is broke, Or your high heels sound like metal scraping the floor ew (It happens) when that tiny part of a hot stiletto wears down. Okay so you have shoes you don’t want to throw away bc they are valuable TO YOU! I took five pairs of shoes in to Andre’s Shoe Repair I spoke to Pierre. I like this man Pierre for a few reasons because he is very honest and does quality work. He told me up front how much it would cost to fix my shoes and how long it could possibly take. I bought some boots from the Good Will. Some bomb, knee high, leather boots but the heel was worn down. I brought them in to be fixed and I three pairs of heels that needed that tiny end of the heel that keeps your sexy strut from scuffing the ground. ANd some Black and white Fred Astaire/​Ginger Rogers type heals. He painted Painted thoes bad boy’s and fixed all of my heels. My boots are old a vintage like I like but with a brand new Cobble heel on them! I will be able to pass these boots on to my teenage daughter, whenever i have daughters. GOOD QUALITY PROFESSIONAL CLEAN SHOE REPAIR WITH NO DRAMA. He has been repairing shoes for over 20 years.
Your not a horter, You really will wear those shoes again! :)

The shoe repair service is shoddy and the store is a mess. I went back once because the location was convenient. But after not one, but two bad experiences I can honestly tell you that I would NEVER go back. I suggest you use another shoe repair place, avoid the hassle.
The first time I went in for what I thought would be a simple job, resole and polish some black boots. The soles were uneven and they used navy polish. I had to wait three days longer than the original «ready on» date and another week for the black polished boots. I asked for a discount and they said no.
The second experience at Andre’s was worst than the first. I was a bridesmaid in a «destination wedding» and all the girls had to get their own shoes dyed to match the dress swatch. Instead of a rose pink, my shoes were dyed wine, dark wine… The dye job was poor, the shoes were a different shade than I asked for and they didn’t match each other — let alone the swatch I brought in.
On top of the fact that the service they provided was bad, the man who works there was rude. Customer service fail on all fronts.

I researched shoe places in Northridge, read the Unilocal reviews and decided to still give this man a try. Apparently, he is a pervert and is not GOOD at his job. I say pervert because he kept repeatedly giving me hugs and kissing me on the cheek bragging about his business.
The first time I went was to fix a bag. He did a great job on the Pink Victoria Secret Zipper, however there wasn’t much to fix just to put the zipper on. I than decided to get 1 pair of Halston shoes, and 2 bags costing around $ 70 each.
As I approached him, he went to talk and talk about the AMAZING job he has done on all the shoes that are disorganized all over the store. I went on to explain my issues and when I needed them done. He said okay, he requires a deposit on the items before doing the work. He priced each item as follows; on the back of an old school receipt.
Bag 1 to fix the handle $ 60
Bag 2 to fix the zipper $ 70
Shoes fixing the bottom of the heel with a tack $ 60
He did this after I sternly repetitively asked what is your prices and how much. I kindly paid half of the fee above waiting to see the results. Complete failure, my heel tacks cracked the second day. He stuffed my handles with red material and glued them back. I am a design major I am familiar with aesthetic. I didn’t care about the price, I wanted good quality. As Kate posted, not only does he overcharge he recommends going to CVS to get cash. He recommended I bring bag 2 back so he can recycle the materials and use them for other clients.
If his store display, his business and ethics are not a clear sign of NOT going to this man. PLEASE listen to my review.

Why didn’t I read the reviews? I did a quick search for shoe repair in the area and chose convenience over my Unilocal people. Never again.
The guy spent most of MY time telling me how he repairs shoes, and that he’s better than anyone. (Please don’t tell me how the clock works. I just want to know the time and get on with my life.)
And here’s something convenient. He doesn’t accept credit cards or ATMs. You have to leave, go to CVS, pick up some gum and ask for cash back, and return with the cash. Fine. But my shoes better be AMAZING.
Failed! The new heals that he replaced fell off after a day on my feet.
Abort, my people. Abort!

Now that I’m wasting my life writing Unilocal reviews again, I can finally alert the world about one of the biggest assholes I’ve ever met, Pierre (?) Whatever of Andre’s Shoe Repair.
Someone mentioned he’s been in business 30 years or something, yet I discovered this shop because he was standing in the doorway of Rite-​Aid next door handing out flyers? It’s bad enough he ripped me off with a fucking $ 86 bill to glue a sole back on the bottom of a vintage boot, but he wouldn’t hand over my goddamn boots until he’d blathered on bragging about all his awesome workmanship and super all-​around awesomeness for like 25 minutes, while I stood sweating in his dark, smelly little shop in godforsaken Northridge. I was getting such a deal paying almost $ 100 for a simple sole repair because look, he polished them, and look over here, he repaired these hideous red cowboy boots and look what amazing workmanship! Touch them! Don’t you care about this stranger’s boots?
No, I didn’t, Pierre. I’m sure you thought my head was spinning with excitement and I was super impressed by your transparent, rapid-​fire salesman pitch (WHEN I ALREADY AGREED TO LET YOU REPAIR MY BOOTS! God, shut up!!!), but what I was really thinking was, give me my fucking boots before I kill you, you scam artist, tedious motherfucker. And ps: shut the FUCK up! You fairly drip with slime and insincerity.
Oh, and this was maybe a year ago and the fucking toe is starting to come apart again.
