I look forward to this event every year– I remember going with my Dad when I was a kid, and now I take my daughter. I you want to see great Polynesian music and dance. Check out this event. There is ono grinds, rides, Polynesian vendors selling wonderful that we would not normally get to purchase on the mainland. Bring your blankets and low back chairs if you want to watch the entertainment. A great time will be had by all!!!

This year, 2010, Ho Olau Lea will be June 5 and 6 in Northridge Park. If you have any interest in Hawaiian dance, music, food, shaved ice, clothing, or jewelry, come to Northridge Part the first weekend of June. Walk past the carnival to get to the Hawaiian section deep within the park. Plan to sit on the ground or bring a mat or a beach chair. Get your food and drink there, but wear sun screen and a hat, because it’s often a beautifully sunny day. We live only a few blocks away, so we walk over every day for a few hours of immersion in all things Hawaiian.
