Met a friend for lunch. It was super packed so we sat in the bar area. Nice and cool inside. I had the cheese quesadilla. It was big and very good! We also shared the bottomless fries… Homemade, skins on, very good! The service was great! Refills kept coming, more than one person would check in on us. Everyone was friendly. I will def come back!

@ the Bar, the CREW is EXCELLENT! Jason is my TOP Fave aside from the rest of the Crew that ALWAYS seem to be on top of their game. The Frozen Margaritas is my number 1 reason for going to Islands and their Wiqui Waqui salad(thank to TomiJo) is another fave of mine with a side of Tortilla Soup and don’t forget that side of sour cream. This Islands never fails to make it right and keep a customer satisfied Again, sit at the bar and enjoy a drink… and don’t be afraid to wave the bartender if you see them busy because they do listen and attend to every customer. Thank You Islands to the Bartenders and Managers in Northridge because YOUGUYSROCK!

This restaurant has to be one of the most poorly managed places I’ve ever been. I called to make a pick up order had to wait on hold for five minutes before somebody even talked to me. Then I get there for the food pickup and they have some jerk off who just stands there and opens the door for people as they walk in. I’ll admit it’s a nice touch but where was this guy while I was on hold for 5 minutes? So anyway. I proceed to the«pick up order section where I continue to wait another 5 minutes before anyone acknowledges my presence. All the meanwhile I can see my food in a bag with my name on it 5 feet away…

Food is still just O. K at islands. Portions are a little small for the prices and the menu hasn’t changed in years. I always love the Hawaiian ambiance so I guess this is my go to place for when I am feeling nostalgic for the islands. I usually go to the Burbank location but on this night we were doing some shopping in Porter Ranch, so it seemed like a good idea. Service was just o. k and dinner was adequate at best, Aloha

I always get good service here and the food is always on point. The servers are really nice and professional, just like they should be haha. It can sometimes be a little of a hassle getting a seat because it gets busy frequently but the wait is well worth it! Two thumbs up!

I haven’t had islands In a long time n decided to try it. We were sat down immediately. The serve, Lauren, came over n took our drink n food order. She was very friendly n helpful. Liked her positive attitude. I ordered a blue cheese burger n my gf got chili burger. We also ordered buffalo wings well done. When we got our food I realized I could’ve just ordered a reg burger n got blue cheese dressing on the side. I could’ve saved almost $ 2. I ordered onion rings with my burger n when I got em they were dripping in oil. Sooo damn greasy I could’ve squeezed the Rings n got about 1 ½ Oz of oil. While the wings n burgers were goood I wanted fries instead of the greasy onion rings. But our server was no where to be found. Not her fault because bunch of Grey haired old ladies, about 7 of them sat next to us. Our server was busy waiting on them n grabbing their drinks. Il tell u this. Old people r very demanding. Anyways Lauren finally came over to check on us n i told her about the greasy rings n that I wanted fries. She said no prob. Well i was done w my burger before the fries were delivered so I couldn’t enjoy my fries. I had to eat my gf fries. After we were done Lauren brought us our check n it came out to $ 45! $ 45 for 2 burgers n buffalo wings! Really? Wow. I can goto the habit n get 2 char burgers for less than $ 10.with fries n onion rings n salad. Less than $ 25. I know it’s a restaurant but wow what a rip off. Yeah my fault for not looking at the prices but really? Anyways we paid $ 53 for 2 burgers n wings. I’m never returning to islands again. It’s way overpriced n the onion rings suck. But Lauren was awesome. So the bad rating is for the price, onion rings n somewhat of a slow service, again not really servers fault but she could’ve made it better. Islands u just lost 2 more customers.

I met a good friend here for lunch, She was running a little late so I put my name down to get a table, very busy but loved it that way. The host told me I can wait at the bar and get served the entire menu there as well. So I grabbed the two spots right at the end of the bar. Service was great, Loved the bar tender, he was making sure we had everything we wanted every 5 – 7 minutes. Making sure our beers stayed cold even. The food was fantastic which was normal for this place. The buffalo wings were great as a starter for what was coming. TIP — the burgers are top notch here, but if your looking for something a little different, try the taco’s. Three very decent sized. Keep in mind there are many many many different types of burgers, but don’t be afraid to mix some of them up, just ask them and they will help you out with that. Parking wise, you better get there early, Even though it is a massive lot, with all the stores in that small little area it gets very hard to park. I could not ask for much more…

Toucan burger is always a delight. Today the Mahi Mahi tacos were to desired for. Cold Tortillas and with a baby and toddler it’s impossible to eat cold tortillas at their rate. Pricey for the food and not all food came out together. Definitely not a family restaurant for all to enjoy.

As I entered I was greeted right away by an Hostess and I asked her how long the wait was and she stated it was about 30 minutes. She was correct. What i noticed was that the employees where running around and checking on the availability of tables that where opened. So I say to myself, if they had a hand held portable radio or a communication device it would help them in there service times and be able to turn tables and most of all get their customers seated. So with that said. Give the employees the tools they need to improve your guests experience in dinning in your establishments. Very important that in the service Industry that the employees have the right tools to do their job to the best of their ability. However they did upgrade there check-in device, to a tablet. So I ordered a burger well done, and guess what. It wasn’t cooked well done. I was to hungry to wait for another burger, so I ate it. The server did come over and I did mention it to her and she, I have them make you another one. It’s ok. Now it’s been awhile since I’ve eaten at a Islands and their prices have gone up. So for a hamburger pricy, be prepared. For the most part the employees did a good job and the server was attentive. 021⁄100 Unilocal Challenge.(2016)

Great restaurant, friendly staff great tasting burgers. Good customer service I got the kilauea burger, twice on different occasions and both times same great taste tender meat fresh with great taste. Their French fries are good as well. Definitely will return to have a burger if I ever want a good burger. Wifey got the Hana hou burger, I had a bite which was amazing as well next time I’ll probably reconsider the hana hou since its for a limited time only.

I have been coming here for around 10 years now and the service and quality of food has always been good. This is definitely not«Fine» dining but if you are looking for a good burger or a huge salad this is the right place.

I don’t usually write reviews for bigger chains like islands but I went about a week ago and had a great experience! Our server was Ryan and he was very upbeat and friendly. I didn’t expect to get such good service from a restaurant like this. We ordered a Hula burger and a Big wave with cheese and both came out cooked perfectly! Everything was surprisingly delicious! I’ve never had such a pleasurable experience at a big chain restaurant before. Shout out to Ryan for grabbing us everything we asked for immediately!

I used to come to this place all the time when I went to CSUN. Now that I’m back 5 years later living nearby, I was happy to see that it’s not only still standing, but had a bit of a facelift. Gone are the huge fake birds, and grass hut roof pieces. The location feels so much bigger & more open now. It’s great. Employees are just as friendly as I remember and the food is just as good. You gotta love those endless fries! In all, I will certainly continue to come back here as long as I’m in the area.

Great place for some burgers and beers on tap… All have recently gone thru a face lift and look great with the new more modern look. Menu has also gone thru some changes with more of a variety to satisfy all different typed of appetites.

I am giving these guys 4 stars, really I was thinking it was going to be a solid 3 but I have to say that the price was great, the service was great, and the food was very good. The fries with the chicken sandwich were worth the calories and for $ 8.99 the lunch special chicken sandwich was very tasty and filling. The waiter was great, I had a passion fruit ice team and as i would get near the bottom of the glass i had a fresh glass filled with ice show up. I went to another location long ago and didn’t remember it being this good, but I liked it. My buddy that met me there works around the area and said«this is the best Islands» and he was right.

(+) Big wave with cheese… consistently good, they default to medium cooked burger unless you request otherwise. It’s customizable… I like the wheat bun, grilled onions, and no mustard. Another burger option can’t go wrong with is the Mavericks with bbq sauce and their shredded(deep fried) onions. (+) Generous with the fries, I always get at least 1 free refill(just ask for more) (+) Lunch specials are reasonably priced. I think they used to include drinks with those but not anymore. The passion iced tea is refreshing. (+) Clean place. Service is hit or miss but usually good. (-) It gets crowded, really busy during lunch hour. I’ve honestly left a couple times because the wait was too long… ended up going to nearby In-n-Out(not a bad backup option).

I think they have probably been reading some of your reviews because I could tell that they care about customer service! Throughout our dinner we kept getting checked up on by the bartender, various waitresses and at the end the manager asked If everything was okay. I loved that everyone was in sync and you didn’t just have to wait on your waiter, everyone else checked in on us too! Teamwork here is noticeable. The fries were absolutely terrible ans soggy. Not sure if they were re-fried, but it sure tasted like it. As far as the food goes, I’m not the most fondest of, but the service more than makes up for it!

This SoCal chain is known for its burgers! PROS: — They have a variety of burgers from Hawaiian to your typical bacon cheeseburger. — Not only do they have burgers, they also offer other things like tacos, salads, and sandwiches. CONS: — Service is a hit or miss. — The burgers were alright. Nothing out of the ordinary. For a burger place, I was really expecting a nice juicy burger but was left disappointed.

I am writing this review with a sense of pleasure yet frustration because after a long Friday work day I was hoping to have a descent burger in the comfort of my house. This is the reason I ended up picking up the food rather than dining in. My husband called in the order and a waitress had told him that the order would be ready in 15 mins. I get there after 20 mins, go to the«pick up» counter and a girl asks my name and right away I see that the way she is acting the order if far away from being ready. So she offers me something to drink while the order is getting ready. This was at 9:15… At 9:45 my order was ready, or that is what I thought. When I got home, opened the boxes of food and was like what is this? The nachos looked 2 day old… I bited into my burger and I see red meat in the middle! I had ordered mine well done and this was rare!!! You know frozen meat color? This is exactly what it was… So my husband called and spoke to the manager(James) and he said he would refund the burger. But that is not all… My husband’s burger was totally rare as well… I would have rather waited an extra 10 mins at the restaurant but got my food COOKED right!!! Very disappointing…
